Terumo Syringe Problems

I've bought terumo 5ml syringes and it seems as though every 1 out of 5 are defective. I'm not sure if it's my own fault, a common problem, or something I need to go straight to terumo about but I figured I would start here.

The rubber seal on the end of the plunger doesn't seem to be tight. As you can only imagine what kind of problems this would produce. I'll be doing my thing in the morning, and notice that the gear is going in awfully fast, WRONG, its going out out the bottom of the syringe squeezing past the rubber seal awfully fast! The first syringe I ran into with this problem, no big deal, wrote it up as my own fault in some matter. But after losing i'm going to guess 2-3 ml's of gear now, it starts to get irritating! Gear is NOT cheap. :frustrate

Any solution to this problem? Does anyone else run into this sort of issue? The only conclusions I can come up with is, I'm warming the gear up too much inside the syringe and its thinning it out juuust a bit too much, or simply the syringe is faulty.

Just looking for a little insight on this problem.

syringe may be faulty. warming rubber up usually makes it expand so the seal should be tighter (IIRC).

get some 3ml syringes

Using 3ml syringes would make the difference you think?

One should use the appropriate syringe for the volume administered. If you are injecting 1 ml use a 1 ml syringe, 2 or 3ml use a 3 ml syringe. injecting with a 5 ml syringe is a pain because you have to apply more pressure both to withdraw and inject and the rubber stoppers never seem to seal as well as the smaller sizes.

Ive never liked the Terumos.....the ears on the back of the syringe are smaller than those on the BDs, and its a ***** for guys with fat fingers like me....

holy

Increased problems with increasing diameter. Get the 3ml - no problems from Terumo at all.
