TerribleTowel's Quest For More Mass

Haha, no worries bro. I have just seen this question arise sooooo many times on multiple boards. Yea, 10mg of tamox citrate per mL is = to 10mg tamox per mL. As long as you're using a reputable source, then yes. If you're using some UG Lab that's not known by many and runs a small business, then I cannot say for sure. All of the larger, more popular companies though, do take the conversion ratio into consideration when compounding their chemicals. I can't name names, but i'm sure you know many of the ones that I am speaking of.

Ok thanks bro. Yea the whole conversion process has always confused a lot of people including myself. I knew most of the pills accounted for the conversion, but I didn't realize that most of these research companies did the same. Thanks for the info bro!

wow i was always under the impression the conversion hadn't been done meaning i must have been taking about 60mg of tamox on my last cycle:confused:

Flat Dumbbell Flies

Post Workout Thoughts:

I felt great today, weights felt light, I felt big. I dropped the weights the slightest amount to ensure I kept my reps above 5 for all my sets. I also have realized that with chest I had been taking every set to or past failure and I decided I needed to back away from that method of training. So instead only the last set of each exercise was taken to failure, meaning the last rep was usually "slightly" assisted. However, the last couple weeks, the last couple reps on my last two or three sets have tended to be assisted. So I would say this is actually a better workout than last week. The 225 set felt lighter than it ever has before. I felt like I could have done twenty reps.

Day 15

225 x 10
265 x 7/8
275 x 5/6
285 x 4

PCT Day 1

225 x 10
260 x 8
270 x 7
275 x 5
280 x 5

Weight upon waking: 205 lbs

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. I've been really busy the last couple days just trying to get everything ready for school which starting back here this week. It's been stressful and my diet hasn't been exactly on point, but now I'm back into a more stable environment, so I'll be posting regularly again, and my diet will be 100% perfect.

Solid numbers on the bench, man. Still look'n strong.

I've got school next week, and a new internship, along with my regular job, so I feel you're pain, bro. But way to get your head back in focus and keep up the hard work.

It just doesn't get any better than this bro!! Feeling great, looking big, and feeling strong! That's why we torture ourselves like this, isn't it!! Way to go Towlie!!! Keep Blastin' Dat Sh!t!! :head:

Lol no way. Enjoy it while you have it. I loved school....well the party part of it.

Plus every year you get a new load of girls who are ready and willing. Plus they haven't been in college long enough to have put on the weight that comes with mass amounts of alcohol consumption quite yet.

PCT Day 2 - August 19, 2008

Back

Deadlifts

225 x 8
315 x 8
405 x 8
455 x 5
475 x 3

T-Bar Rows

3 Plates x 12
4 Plates x 12
4 Plates x 10
4 Plates x 10 + 3 Plates x 10 (Drop set)

Pulldowns (Palms Facing Each Other)

168 x 10
180 x 8
168 x 8
144 x 10

Post Workout Thoughts:

Good workout reps and weights wise, but I didn't feel 100% today. The weights felt heavy, unlike last week, but I managed to essentially maintain my numbers from last workout, plus add a rep of 455 set. T-Bars and Pulldowns felt really good. Was getting a really good deep contraction every rep.

Tomorrow will be off day and then Thursday I'll be blasting shoulders.

Weight upon waking: 204 lbs

One thing I'd like to throw in is that I am absolutely loving the addition of T-Bar rows and the Pulldown variation that I've been using the last couple weeks. If anyone is struggling with back development throw these two exercises into your routine and keep strict form and I absolutely guarantee you will notice a difference.

Just a little comparison....Volcom style

Cycle Day 16

405 x 8
455 x 4
475 x 3
500 x 1
315 x 12

PCT Day 2

405 x 8
455 x 5 (+1)
475 x 3

I didn't attempt 5 plates or more today as I wasn't really feeling it, plus I feel one rep maxes don't really have much of a place in my weightlifting journey. Not to mention the extra stress that attempting a one rep max puts on your back. I also didn't do a drop set and I'll be honest I just didn't even think about it. After the 475 set I was exhausted and my brain wasn't functioning correctly after such a heavy set.

An old school power lifting and current day S&C performance strategy for seriously improving strength lifts, are tapering your workouts. Maybe for your next session, hit 405 x8, then x6, then x5 and that's it for Deads, taper down your weight. Then the next week, hit 405 x5, 455 x3, then 475 x estimating 5. Just a suggestion if Dead lift numbers are what you're aiming for.

I've had two hot professors. One was 23 and the other was 28. The 23 year old used to wear Roxy spaghetti sting tops and the 28 year old wore these skater style adidas shoes. Girls in skater shoes are hot, I don't know why.

During the evals, I wrote in, "I think you're hot"

It's not necessarily that I'm shooting for numbers, because by know means am I a powerlifter. In fact I have let my rep ranges fall a little bit this cycle because I was too busy trying to constantly increase my weights from workout to workout. Deadlifts I train in a slightly lower rep range simply because of the nature of the lift.

I just hate to see my numbers/weights/reps fall on any exercise because in my mind, I correlate a loss of strength with a loss of muscle. I do like your tapering suggestion, but I'm not really going to experiment too much with different methods right now during PCT, but once PCT is over I will definitely be making some changes, most likely consisting of some higher rep ranges, and a more cutting/recomp based diet.

I envy you. I don't think there is a such thing as a hot engineering professor. I don't even think there is a such thing as a female engineering professor. There's only a handful of girls in the entire college of engineering. Instead I'm usually stuck in a room full of guys listening to someone speak in an accent I can't understand.

I hear ya. I don't specifically aim for numbers either. When Dead reps start going above 8, you're going to severely burn out for your next set (assuming its a heavy 8), which is what I did all the time. I'd hit 405 for 10, then 455 for 3, mostly because I was just burned out, but hypertrophy and max GH release was my goal, so the 405 for 10 seemed necessary. I just recently started taking the Johnny Jackson approach, 5 reps all the way across while pyramiding the weight, and I like it. I feel it taxing my strength limit, more then my endurance limit (for ME). I just started this, so I'm not saying its "the way" or anything. its just a fun, fresh, new approach for me.

It's funny you mention the Johnny Jackson style, because I was actually going to mention it in my last post. I've been thinking about giving his 5 rep sets method a try myself here next time I switch things up.

The more I think about it the more it makes sense to me to leave rep ranges consistent as you pyramid up in weight, because if your reps drop from set to set as your weight increases, your likely taking the majority of your sets to near failure, which you simply cannot due in my opinion. At least not on a continuous basis without simply overtaxing your CNS and overtraining.

Agreed, and not just on the CNS aspect. With a lift that compound and at such intensity, your muscles and general energy levels simply burn out.

Post Workout Thoughts:

Another pretty good workout. Weights felt heavy, but I pretty much maintained my numbers across the board. I attempted barbell shrugs at the end of my workout, but once again my lower back was not in condition to do so. I think this coming up week I'm going to do my deads with a belt and see if it allows the rest of my workouts to go problem free the rest of the week.

Weight upon waking: 202.5 lbs (not happy about this...hopefully just water and such)

Cycle Day 18

195 x 12
205 x 10
215 x 8
225 x 6

PCT Day 4

185 x 10
205 x 10
215 x 8
225 x 6

Pretty much consistent here. I could have pumped out quite a few more reps on the 185 if I had chose to do so. I didn't realize I had started with 195 the week before or I probably would have done so again today. Still, I'm glad to see the numbers maintaining here.

Hey bro, as far as the weight loss goes, don't worry about it. SD keeps a LOT of glycogen in ya. I lost 4lbs during my PCT after the SD cleared my system. I didn't look any smaller and strength didn't really decrease, but the scale said I was 4lbs lighter. It's all good in da hood bro. I'd stay of the scale for a week, keep training hard, resting good, and eating like a beast. Then get on it again and see what it says. We are bber's, so the scale doesn't really matter anyway. It's all about the mirror. ;) Numbers are looking good btw and keep tearin shyt up!!

365 x 9

Leg Press

4 x 15
5 x 15
6 x 15
6 x 18

Post Workout Thoughts:

Very nice workout. I decided to do some back squats today for a change. I haven't been squatting much lately because of my back and when I have squatted it's been front squats. Surprisingly my back felt really good and my strength didn't appear to have dropped off much since last time. I'd say in a few weeks I should be able to throw 405 on again for reps. I will say the weights felt extremely heavy just because I'm not use to having that much weight on my back.

Thanks for the support bro. I'm not overly worried about the weight drop as I was expecting a little bit at the beginning. I've been hovering around 200 the last couple days, so it appears the weight loss has stopped. I definitely feel and continue to look bigger, so I'm not really worried about the numbers (body weight). Plus my lifts have maintained so far, so I'm happy with my PCT up to this point.

On a side note: the little gyno flareup I had earlier in the cycle has almost completely disappeared since starting PCT.
I was thinking that it would. A huge fluctuation in hormones during a cycle is what leads to this "preliminary" gyno IMO. It usually subsides with PCT and a balancing of your natural hormone levels. Keep up the good work. Hit the heavy weights during PCT. Make sure you recover well between workouts. I believe you'll keep most of your gains this way. KEEP BLASTIN' TT!!! :head:

Post Workout Thoughts:

Great workout yet again. My weight in the mornings is still low but my weight when I get to the gym is staying consistent. I actually managed to improve my lifts today so PCT continues to run smoothly.

I didn't have my normal workout partner today, but I had another source of motivation. Now that school is back in the usual people who aren't there in the summer are back and there is this absolute monster of a grad student who always works out at the same time I do. He's about 6'2" and I'd guess somewhere around 250 or more at around 7 or 8 percent bodyfat. He was benching today and worked up to a set of 6 with 405. Nothing motivates you more than seeing someone else through around insane amounts of weight.

I love to see others improve during PCT. A lot of people sink into some sort of post-cycle-depression or something. They lose their motivation and drive once they go off the anabolics. How sad! It's a simple scenario of mind over matter. If you don't mind, then it don't matter!!! I always maintain or even gain strength during my PCT's. You just gotta keep the weights heavy, eat properly, and get adequate rest so you can recover and continue growing. Keep the faith and the fire brother TT!! :head:

I definitely agree that the main problem people have during PCT is completely mental. People allow the fact that there "off" to transform into a mental notion that they can no longer lift the same weights anymore because they're no longer "on".

I definitely think that the DHEA has helping me in giving me an overall feeling of well-being, which definitely helps performance in the gym. I decided to throw it in this PCT largely due to seeing how much you rave about it in your logs. So far I give it :thumbsup:

Post Workout Thoughts:

It was a good day strength wise, but endurance and nutrition wise it was terrible. Every other week on Tuesday nights I have a lab which interferes with my normal workout time and routine. So today I went to lab and then went straight to the gym, which means I didn't get to take in a preworkout meal like normal. I did drink a shake, but it just isn't the same.

After my first set of 405 I felt extremely light headed. After my 465 set I literally saw the room spinning. Midway through the second rep of 495 I felt ready to vomit. I held it in and pushed through my sets though. I skipped my normal drop set simply because I'm pretty certain that another high rep set would have literally caused me to have passed out.

After deads I did T-Bar rows and called it a day. There was nothing left in the tank at this point and it was starting to show. All in all a good workout. Got a great back pump and could really feel my muscles contracting.

Felt weak and tired today and still check out these numbers:

It's good to see that even though you didn't feel well, you still increased weight and had a good workout. I have had awesome workouts that ended with me barfing. I've even barfed, rested a couples of minutes, then finish the workout strong. You probably went a little hypo-glycemic from no carbs before working out. I've been there. Very light-headed and faint feeling. It sucks. Now I always eat oatmeal and a peice of fruit before my workouts. And of course a whey shake!!

Man!! I can't believe that you're already on day 11 of PCT!! Time flies when you're running gear, huh??!! I was just counting down on this natty run I'm on. I only got 11 days to go until it's cycle-time for me again!! WOO-HOO!!!! :dance:What you got planned after PCT and the appropriate time off? Anything settled about a future run??!! I'm glad you did so well on this cycle. Great gains for such a short cycle!!
