Tattoo Question

Really not sure what section to put this in... Anyways, I am looking to get a tattoo on each of my triceps. I am curious as to how long I should take off from the gym, if any, in order to let them heal and not damage the tattoo. Anybody have any suggestions or comments that may help out. Stupid question, but hey, whatever.

Im not sure about your questions, only thing I would say is be careful, if your planning on expanding your triceps to much more it could damage the tattoo later on..

I am not an expert by any means, so take this with a grain of salt, but I would wait until the scabs are gone (or at the very least not itching anymore).

3-4 days. my tattoo artist actually told me that. she said dont lift for 3-4 days or until it starts to peel because ur skin can still stretch and ruin the design.

I didn't really take any time off if I remember it's been a few years since i did my triceps however i just did upper chest in FEB i was on cycle and didn't take any time off

That is where I am at, as far as on cycle. I'm on week 2 of Methyl-E and H-Drol, so I didn't know how getting the tattoo would fair with this. Didn't want to take any rest while on cycle ya know.

Thanks for all the input guys.

my Biggest fear when i get a new tat, is making sure the sweat and equipment doesn't touch em' **** if im getting it infected. I would take the day off and scrub the **** out of it with your fingertips (no nails) w/ soap. All should be well after.

Did all you guys lotion yours up during the healing process?

I thought this was a must with all tats. I did with all mine, and everyone I know with multiple tats always does with every new one they get.

As far as lifting, maybe a day off, thats about it, no other real reason to stop for any length of time.

The worry with tattoos isnt that you'll grow so much while its healing to hurt it, but that you'll pull off a piece of the scab....If you do that, its entirely possible that you can actually pull out some of the pigment from the ink....then you're left with a spot that is noticeably less vibrant than the rest of the tattoo....hence why the tell you not to pick the scab while its healing...
