Tabatas twice a week to maintain fat loss while lifting?

OK so i'm upping my calorie intake while hitting the weights pretty hard three times a week.

HOWEVER I want to keep fat levels low so I plan to do tabatas twice a week at an intense rate to burn off fat.

How effective will this be mother****ers?
 
I've used them with success. It's like HIT as opposed to HIIT for cardio. Balls to the wall, maximal effort for 5 -10 minutes. Just watch recovery, they can be pretty brutal on your CNS.

the tabata protocol is 4 minutes long using 20 second work periods with 10 second rest. if you are going 5-10 minutes you are not doing tabata. you may be doing HIIT/HIT or whatever else you wanna call it. but its not tabata.
