FOREVER AGELESS
by Ron Rothenberg, M.D. and
Kathleen Becker, M.A., R.N.
California HealthSpan Institute,
Encinitas, 2001

The form of testosterone prescribed
by the California HealthSpan
Institute is natural testosterone delivered
through the skin (transdermal).
Very simply, twice a day the patient
applies a measured dose of cream prepared
by a compounding pharmacy.

Why not just use a Gel? Why spike your T in the afternoon, and need to take the cream with you if your going out.

I really do not have good answer for that.
It spiked my curiosity because this is from
Ron Rothenberg, M.D. web page, and he is friendly with our Dr. John.

It's used in the morning and evening - at least that's how it was prescibed for me.

Very intersting,
if you have a time and inclination, please provide details on
the overall treatment you are getting.
Highlight important differences in treatment and theories how
they go about it relative to our understanding.

We are all about learning here, as you already know.
At he moment I am intersted most in
FreeT and BAT vs TotalT, which is addressed first, how.
SHBG
How to deal with high E2 and DHT,
ether by using minimum required T, then DIM and I3C,
or something else.

I'm no longer on that therapy or any form of androgynous testosterone. Currently I'm using HCG alone. The results have been good. I post my progress occasionally - I should be giving an update soon.

I was applying 100 MG per week using the bi-daily protocol. My total test level soared to 1711. DHT was pretty high - estradiol seemed reasonable (in the high normal range). It was a year ago and I haven't kept the labs.

I didn't like the way I felt, but then I wasn't using Dr. John's HCG protocol. That might have changed things.

just curious could possible using the HCG actually help to reduce estrodial for the fact of it increasing progesterone levels and actually reducing the amount of creme needed there for reducing possible needs for antiestrogens ?

I don't think so. My estradiol level went too far out of range and I'm using it stand as alone.

Does HCG increase progesterone? how?

It feeds the enzymatic pathways which follows same pathway of cortisol. Why people with adrenal fatigue feel better on HCG which normally means they are low on progesterone since it is the begninng step to cortisol and cortisone

Progesterone is produced in the adrenal glands, the gonads (specifically after ovulation in the corpus luteum), the brain.

Progesterone, like all other steroid hormones, is synthesized from pregnenolone, a derivative of cholesterol.

Dr. John, what other hormones do the testes produce before converting to testosterone (ie: not estrogens or dht)?, and are they significantly produced by the testes, or is it in minute amounts like testosterone from the adrenals?

i felt best one 250 iu hcg ETD and 1 gram 5% with 1/2 armidex m,th, but due to insurance running out and finacial problems I went to 10% with no hcg or armidex and lost 15 lbs lean muscle mass despite exercises and proper eating. Feb i get retested and will consult Dr. John for his advice. Could I just pay the 300 plus the 50 for consultation with dr john and my dr via phone just to get it out of the way instead of waiting? Don't worry i will have all test covered and then some. I have learned not to leave any stone unturned when it come to be thorough and my health involved. i have an idea of what has been going on but with out test its only been a guessing game for past 4 months. Hopelly this night mare will end soon enough and finally get proper treatment
