Workout yesterday was on point! Though I'm changing my routine up a bit to get my rest day, which is today, the day before upper power. My lower body is recovering just fine, chest needs a bit more rest, so I'm going to try to manipulate it like so:

Sunday: Chest/Shoulders
Monday: Weakpoint / Arms (Optional, only if recovery is on point)
Tuesday: Lower Strength
Wednesday: OFF
Thursday: Upper Strength
Friday: Lower Hypertrophy
Saturday: Back/Traps

Anyway, yesterday's lift went as followed:

Weight: 140

Full Upper

4x8 Pause BB Bench Press: 155x8 165x8 x8 155x8

3x6 DB Shoulder Press: 55x6 60x6 x6

3x5 UH T-Bar Row: 100x5 x5 x5 (easy PR, was able to contract very well too)

3x12 Lateral DB Raise:10x12 12.5x12 x12
> 3x8 Standing DB Press: 30x8 35x8 x8

3x15 Incline Smith Bench: 95x15 115x15 135x15 > 115x8 > 95x10

3x8 Seated SA Cable Row, Constant Stretch/Tension: 100x8 120x8 x8
> Light Tri Rope: 20x12 x12 x12

Still very happy with my progress. Did some measurements this morning as well, and everything has slight increases! Up 2.5 lbs in the last 20 days according to my tracker and everything is going well. Getting stronger, happy what I'm seeing in the mirror, and my illiac crest is still only 5mm.

Friday i'm getting bonefish grill with a lady friend, seared ahi tuna steak, double jasmine rice and steamed asparagus for the win! You guys ever have bonefish grill?

Can't go wrong with a big tuna steak... Nice and rare in the middle. Mmmmm

Cinnamon sugar Sweet potato fries, chicken and veggie stew. Plus some cereal for good measure ;)Invalid Link Removed

Mmmmm. I've been making sweet potato fries with cinnamon and pumpkin spice. Bomb.com

Last 3 days I've been making them every night. Gonna have to try pumpkin spice tomorrow. No idea how I hang thought of that with my pumpkin obsession ha

That looks frickin awesome.

Cinnamon and pumpkin spice... Intrigued.

So I made a big decision to take a new job I got offered at work... Its basically going to turn my entire life on its head as not only will it have me moving to Atlanta, but I'll be traveling basically 100% of the time. Going to have to totally re-think how I train, eat, etc as there wont be any chance for a regular schedule like I have now. No regular gym, no cooking, no packing food, etc. Tracking macros is going to become a nightmare. Supplements will be minimized if at all.

I wont be starting until the new year so the next couple months I plan to really do everything I can to hit it hard in the gym but also enjoy my time at home with my friends and family. Probably gonna focus a lot less on staying lean as I can worry about that while I'm on the road and have nothing better to do ha.

That said, while I'm on the road I might have to meet up with some of the bro's around here for a lift now and then as I pass through anyone's towns. Might have to start a thread to see where everyone's at and hit you guys up for a session if I pass through.

Congrats on the job Boone!

You can easily track your macros on the road, and you can easily buik cook a few days a week when traveling to help combat this. Matt Jansen the owner of Inov8 does it and travels on a plane every week to shows and events without skipping a beat. Just keep things simple and easy

The best part about this for you is it will take a lot of your mind off food and supplements and training, and focusing less on it. So you wont be anal 100% to the T all the time. You will start to probably see the best gains of your life from keeping things simple, getting in and out of the gym, and also focusing your time with the restrains you have to make the most of it. Sometimes being a bit looser = better success. i know that was the case for me and many others as well. Sometimes we focus so hard on our diet and training that it backtracks us from our true potential.

Congrats on the new job.

As for the bulk cooking that won't even be an option. I'll most likely be on the road for weeks or months at a time, traveling all over us/Canada/Mexico so I won't have access to kitchen or storage and def won't want to be carrying weeks worth of food with me through multiple airports and countries ha. Tracking macros I think will just be hard due to the unpredictability of any "eat out" foods. I prefer to cook and make my own meals but that just won't be an option a lot of the time due to schedule and location of the sites I'll work at.

No clue how I'll find stuff in Mexico when I don't know a lick of Spanish ha.

Does anyone have much experience with resistance band only workouts? I have a nice set that will be perfect to travel with as a just-in-case but I've never really used just them... Might needs some directions to a solid workout using just bands.

Today's workout was on point! Thought it would be a dud since I did full upper two days ago and I'm changing my routine but it went really well after benching. Even benching felt good though, just definitely should have warmed up more.

Weight: 141.4

Full Upper

4WS Pyramid Bench Press: 185x7 205x5 225x2 (not bad for benching 2 days ago, just wanted to get this routine in check)
155x11 > 135x7

Pyramid OHP: 65x10 95x6! 105x2 95x5 x5 65x11 > 45x6

^ absolutely ****ing stoked I got 95 for those reps. Still lightweight but great progress for picking the exercise up 3-4 weeks ago.

Pyramid T-Bar Row: 70x8 90x6 115x4 125x2 > 90x7 > 45x8

^ One of the best drop sets and sets of my life, insane focus and drive

3x8 Meadow’s Rows: 35x8 45x8 x8

3x8 Chest Fly: 100x12 120x7 110xq
> 3x8 Max Velo RB Hammer Press: 25x8 35x8 x8

3x15 DB Lateral Raise: 10x15 12.5x15 x15
w/ x20 DB Press: 35x20 30x20 x20

Cannot wait to try this either... Chocolate covered banana <img src="http://anabolicminds.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=108596"/>

Whoa. This sounds amazing. Frozen choc covered bananas were one of my fav treats as a kid.

Power legs today. Ive decided to move my rest day to Saturdays for now so that I can enjoy more time with the gf and family as well as go away from home more on the weekends.

Squats today were great as far as power and strength went but depth was a bit lacking today due to some tight hips. I spent a lot of time trying to stretch things out while warming up but it just wasn't there today so I just went hard and heavy and made sure to get at least parallel.

No issues with quads locking up this week which was nice too as that was awful last week. Overall a great workout. All exercises were at least 15lb heavier then week 3 (week 9 now) for the same reps and RPE.

Not sure why but I've been pretty bloated the last day or so. Clearly bloat and not fat gain as it just kind of appeared overnight. Not sure the cause as nothing diet wise has changed. Could just be an off day or two or maybe even some of my late nights catching up. One thing I def need to work on is getting to bed earlier as I've been gettin pretty lax about getting enough sleep. Def starting to feel it tho in the mornings.

Lower your fiber/veggie intake ^^^

Why would that cause a sudden spike? Ive been eating the same meals for a few weeks now. I've actually dropped a pre bed salad this week and replaced it with some fats.

Just vegetables in general can make you feel bloated and retain water. Lots of fiber leaves the bulk of the meal in the stmoach longer.

Plus if you're using lots of spices I tend to notice that make me retain water too. Basically anything my stomach has to work extra to digest. Which I guess is why pro bodybuilders eatvplain boiled chicken and broccoli and that crap pre contest. Salt for the win

I get that but that wouldn't explain a sudden bloat when diet factors haven't changed
