Thats the problem if he adds more kcals he will just say he feels SOFTER, and therefore he will just resort to cutting quicker he needs to control his surplus, and also accept the fact that he has a bit of a skinny fat look from also a lack of muscle mass on his frame for how tall he is. Which is common in some people who are talling/skinnier. Once he builds a good frame and diets down his physique will look much improved IMO. His metabolism is still shot from how long he cut nearly 8 months. so to recover will take time, i think he bumped too fast and yes he wants to eat more, but eating more does not always = better results even if you change and vary your macros.. There may still be some metabolic damage because it has not been over 2+ months he has tried to reverse and he may still be trying to get his metabolism swinging in full tilt again, or he may just be an endo by nature and does not need a lot to gain or push the scale which is a personal factor he will have to watch and monitor. Even if he does not change his kcal intake and changes macros it wont make a damn difference. he already stated that Novemeber is gonna be a mess diet wise, so for the consistency he will have for the next few weeks it wont be long enough in the grand scheme of things to make a legit outcome or deciding factor on his overall decision.

I didnt say to add calories. I said to exchange 50g of carbs for 50g of protein. That would change his rate of weight gain while keeping the calories the same as they are currently!

Get it! I just had my heavy deads yesterday. Shins were a bloody mess. Good times were had. 245 for sets of 5 felt light.

Shouldn't be tearing your shins up that bad especially going light, but I feel your pain. Try starting the bar out a bit from your shins. It's more likely more correct form wise there as well.
 
So I did pyramid deads today and really focused on engaging the lats and doing a hard quad flex between reps. My legs are still twitching lol, but would appreciate a form check on my 355x2. Felt good, zero lower back engagement. 375 felt fine too, but definitely wasn't getting a double without breaking form.

^ no plantar issues on calf extensions so I'm happy about that.

3x8 Deficit Stiff DL: 135x8 155x8 x8

3x10 SL Leg Ext: 50x10 60x10 x10
> SL Ham Curl: 40x10 x10 x10

3x8 Max Velo Squats: 135x8 x8 x8

Brutal ending with the max velo squats. Basically squatted to 90 degrees, paused and exploded thru the heels. Twas a grind.
 
Deads above ^^^ Your glutes are weak it is present because your hips shoot up first motion for a good 1-2 inches before you even get the bar off the ground. You need to sit back on your heels better. Focus on doing a lot more deficit deadlifts to bring up your glutes/hamstrings which lack strength and wont make you do the hip rise to start the motion. You seem too far over the bar (Shoulders) Sit back and puff your chest up and sit back into the motion, your posterior chain will be activated a lot more and you will get your glutes engaged and deadlift with a bit better form.
Sit back, Tense your glutes and hams, dig your heels into the ground and pull.

Thanks Bob. Yeah before I strained myself trying to puff my chest too much so now I tried a more neutral head approach. I'll give those tips a whirl next sessio .

It's usually the way down that I bang em up. Up is nice and controlled. Down can sometimes get away from me on the last rep or so. Only takes one bang to draw blood with a newer knurled bar

From the video, like bob pointed out; posterior chain, hams and glutes look weak. Shoulder and chest position is incorrect.

I'd start with direct ham work, and work on cues. It looks like you have the slack out of the bar before you pull, which is good. Maybe on your next video try and get your foot position and bar position (where it is in relation to your shins (distance wise))

Agree Banded Good mornings, Glute Ham Raises, deficit deadlifts should be his best friend right now.

Legs hyper yesterday was pretty solid. All exercises were just 3 sets except my finisher so it was a shorter workout but I had an awesome pump. The last two weeks or so my legs have been feeling better then ever and I've been feeling really tight and pumped wen in the gym. Basically having to waddle around once I get going ha.

Was able to add weight and reps again so that was even better. It's week 8 of my program now and 12 will be my next 1rm week but I can already tell I'm gonna set some new pr's as I'm repping 10-15lb heavier then I ever have and my form is far better. Really happy with my progression this fall.
