Sweetlou's training log

Notes: another 45min mobility session last night. Realized my hurt hip was causing me some small imbalances at the bottom of my squat which lead to my knee pain. Really mobilized that hip and nearly everything is moving the way I want now. Two more of the these sessions before pulls on sat.

As the trest clears and my bp and hr are coming down I didn't realize just how bad it really was. I feel like a completely different person. Also nitrates and cialis finally started making a dent in it too.

Notes: another 45min mobility session. These three sessions have had a profound effect on my hips. Squat pattern is back on track, left hip is doing much better and I know understand which angles on it I can't do. Shoulders feel awesome too.

Here is what I do.

PVC pipe roll:
Upper/lower back
Lat insertion
Pec insertion
Psoas
Adductor
Hamstring
Calves

Then stretches:
Sleeper stretch
Pec stretch
Lat stretch
Hamstring stretch close and wide standing and laying with a band
Quad stretch and deep psoas wall stretch
Calf and achles tendon stretch
Glute stretch
Kneeling psoas and adductor stretch

Mobility:
Shoulder dislocations
Tactical frog
Hip airplane
Bw squats, pause, and half reps. Repeat anything as needed.

Huge cheat/high cal day.
About 4800 cals. Hoping this day will help fuel my bench overreach and deadlift taper. Then I can keep cals lower as I recover from the all the overreaching.

I never take pics of food. Unless its something I cook myself.

But I had:

Meal 1-egg whites, cheese, ww bread, bananas.
Meal 2-2 power crunch bars, free at work
Meal 3-baked chicken, brown rice, black beans, light sour cream
Meal 4- 1/2 red baron Mexican pizza with baked chicken added and 1/2 carton of light Edy's cookie dough ice cream.
Meal 5- the other half of meal 4.

Totals to 250p/600c/150f about 4800 cals.

4800 should do ya right. I know we both love to eat, so I'm curious...what do you think is the most calories you've consumed in a single day. I can't say for certain, but I know I've been around 10,000 more than a few times.

Phew, saved yourself there. I got through meal 3 and was like alriigght wheres the cheat haha. 1 pizza and a carton if ice cream, good stuff. I love food, so any time people talk about cheats i always like to know what they had in case it sounds good and i can use it for my next cheat. Meanwhile, im eating a quest bar :(.

Look, if you have to count how many peeps, Cadbury eggs, and beers you've consumed, you miss out on all the fun of Easter!

Far worse than one day is the string of day after day eating. I was between 4200-5000 when I went from 219 to 250 in six months.

Lol yeah I keep it simple most of the time. I don't really like to cook so the easier the better.

Oh I have no idea. I know after weight ins I eat around 6000-6500 cals. Other then that I have no idea. 10,000 is nuts.

This is how I got to 230. The day after day is the big no no.

Notes: I made it guys. Bench is going the best of all my lifts ATM. Couldn't be happier with how it all moved today. Was a mentally tough day. But I put my head on right. The hardest sessions are behind me, time to taper and deload. I woke up 2lbs lighter from the cheat day so I may cheat again tonight as I'm gunning for a 600lb pull tomorrow night. Thoughts?

10,000 ain't sh*t if you know how to do it: simple carbs/sugar & fats is the ticket. Picking foods with stupid high energy for how easy they are to digest. Christmas my Italian side of the fam made a huge pasta dinner w/ all these fatty meats & sausages, potatoes, the works. Then, after eating to max capacity for an hour or more, dishes get washed and everyone relaxes for another hour or so - then it's time for desert. Since everyone brings something, there's literally almost a cake/stollen/pie/pastry tray for everyone in attendance. I try them all over a solid 2 hours of desert eating, coffee-drinking and socializing. I actually fell asleep for a minute at the table this year - my pancreas was revved up harder than Ricky Bobby's pace car.

Kid at my gym's coach had him on keto pretty hard, and when it was reload time he told him to destroy anything he wanted. He went to the bakery and wiped out TWO DOZEN filled doughnuts. He had pizza and all kinds of stuff later too.

Also, SweetLou321 stop using light sour cream - buy yourself a tub of unflavored greek yogurt and slather on as much as you want with 4x the protein. I swear it tastes exactly the same. Awesome on baked potatoes, tacos, any situation you enjoy sour cream - except instead of feeling guilty you're feeding your muscles.

Lol that all sounds like it would pit me to sleep.

yeah? I'll try it. But light sour cream really has low cals so I never feel guilty about eating it right now.

Look do you want the extra protein or not??!! :twak: :006:

It is also more versatile; can mix it w/ some protein powder and make a fluff if you get a sweet tooth or add it to a smoothie to thicken it up.

I actually avoid extra protein as its way to easy for me to hit 250g protein per day as it is lol.

5/16/15-deadlift, taper
Warm up
PVC pipe roll
Shoulder dislocationsx2
Goblet squats/bss/mini band abductionx2x15 each
Cat squats
235x3x3, last set each rep was paused. Hips and where I need them. Just need to keep them there.
Deadlift
95% of goal-600x1, 15lb all time PR
Notes: ran out of time will do prehab stuff at home after work. That pull moved better then any pull in the previous few weeks. I'm ready. Cut the block pull at 100% out to leave me some room to squat on Wednesday. That session really tore me up. My neck cramped on both sides mid session. Pulling didn't help. I feel like a mess now. CNS is shot, body is shot. Peaking is on full effect. I wanna just lay down and sleep. Well i may be in to much pain to sleep lol. Two more sessions and the rest will be easy, including the meet itself. Overall confidence is 10/10 atm.

Lmao remember like 2 days ago when you kept posting you were gonna pull out?? :laugh2:

Great work on busting out of the 5s!

Haha yeah that was deff a low period. Prep isn't easy at all.

Thanks bud! Finally a raw 600lb puller.

It's what you make it. I'm 5 weeks out from a meet but I'm not getting all worked up about it like usual. I'm not taking anything and I'm not killing myself with Cube training (it works, but the volume is genuinely hard on me); I just plucked a fun little Clint Darden routine from Programs That Work 3 and made some personal adjustments and training has been an absolute blast. It seems to be working too, so that's a plus!

I'm just going to have a good time and lift the best total I feel I can lay out on the day of the meet. Remember, nobody can decide to make you feel stressed but you.

I understand what you're saying. But what is taking a toll on me is the overreach right now. Inducing am overtrained state to super compensate from. I don't feel good at all. Physically. I'm enjoying the challenge. All my other preps were to easy. I'd prefer to make prep brutally hard so meet day can be less stressful.

Well said. I fully agree.

I see what you mean now. By the time I'm 2 weeks out, I seriously feel like the wheels are about to fall off. It's an easy time to start doubting.

Pinned some gear a buddy gave me. It had eo in it. I'm very allergic to it. Needless to say I can barely walk or bend my leg. I just hope it clears up enough to squat on Wednesday. That was stupid on my part. Whoops.

Wow man watch that ****

Last ditch effort to get something decent before the meet. Well it backfired for sure. I have pull my leg into my car to drive and literally drag it out to get out. I've been pounding nsaids with little relief. I may have really dug a hole for myself.

Dam man. Has this happened before? (I have no idea what eo is)

Yes several times. Ethyl oletate is what eo is. I'm sure I spelled it wrong. But I've very allergic. Basically feels like an infection without being one. Takes about 5-7 days to go away. I was on cloud 9 now I just want to lay down. No appitite and no energy.
