Supplement Recommendations Needed

I guess I'm just kind of getting urgent...

I'm nearing graduation of senior year and am going off to college.

I have enormous legs...but my upper body is like a 10 year old. It's embarrassing.

In addition to that I'm only 5'6.

As you can guess, my self esteem is pretty low.

I know your body isn't everything...but it would just be a real confidence booster.

Head to the nutrition section and read the post Spaniard put up on diet.

Some people have a harder time than others building mass; it may just be that your training and/ or diet are not optimal for your goals. If you have a bro split (back/bis, chest/ tris) type deal, then I suggest changing that.

If you like, post up your training plan (with planned progressions) as well as diet (with calorie intake and macro breakdown) and we can give further help.

Your diet is a big factor, but the way you train is as well. If your upper body isn't responding to training like your legs, try putting more emphasis on form and establishing a strong mind-muscle connection. Focus on actually working the target muscle(s), as opposed to just moving weight (this most likely requires using less weight on exercises). You can consistently work the upper body and see minimal growth, if you don't learn how to target the muscles efficiently.

Thanks! I'll check it out

There's a giveaway I entered that gets announced on Saturday.
Whether I win or not, gonna start a GVT Log soon.

I know I am sort of repeating the masses here...but don't just assume you have low testosterone levels. Especially at 18

I would start with the basics first. Some Select Protein, some creatine, and a multi

Why specifically Select Protein?

Is taking 5 grams of creatine a day all you need.

Yes creatine at 3-5g daily,
A multi and maybe Fish oil

That's the BB minimum

Select protein is one of the best choices out there just based on the profile, the blend was shown in studies to be the optimal ratio for overall MPS, and it was 3rd party tested absurdly well (higher than label) which is saying a lot with all the companies failing. Also it is very lean, so it can be fit into any diet or set of macros.

I'll look more into it. Thanks!

But isn't all protein the same?

Bob nailed it.

Protein would all work the same if the labels were a reality. Many of them are lies.

Man...learning so much from this forum.

Thanks, I'll do that right now.

I thought that the protein from a pop tart and a protein shake had the same effect on the body.

Hey guys, need your help. My name's Daniel. Here's some background information: - Age: 18 years old - Height: 5'6 - Weight: 160 Pounds - Body Fat %: 14% - Experience: 4-5 Years - Strength PR's: 400 Squat, 245 Bench Press and 490 Deadlift My problem: - I get the DYEL reaction when I say I workout. - I've never really seen significant gains, even as a complete beginner. - Slowly starting to lose motivation... I try so hard with such microscopic results. It's unbelievably frustrating. - Pretty darn sure I have low testosterone levels Goals: - Be Ripped with Visible Muscles What supplements would you recommend? Whatever product I choose, I'll log my progress and results here. Thanks! Hope to get more involved in this forum and learn from you all.

Um...5'6" 160 lbs and 490 deadlift...and you're complaining?

Either your expectations are unrealistically high, or those #s are b.s.

If those stats are true, keep doing what you're doing.

I have money arms with short legs...I guess I have good leverages.

The squat was done with a belt and tight knee sleeves.

The deadlift was done with a belt and sumo

Once I start logging, I'll post videos.

No point in lying to impress anyone here. Doesn't get me anywhere.

Any other protein products you recommend? I was taking Optimum Nutrition Whey.

Speaking as a non-PES rep or fanboy, their new blonde flavor is the best tasting protein I've ever had and the nutrition facts and purity testing are out of this world.

I would agree, except I use none of your minimums lol.

varied diet > multi. im always skeptical of multis as they present nutrients in bolus. Only so many transporters in the small intestine.

Fish oil? Covered with a varied diet. Ive had a lot of rancid fish oil which you wouldnt know about unless you tested a few capsules. Oxidation becomes a problem.

Creatine? One I always recommend but cant take personnally. Elevated kidney values due to use means that my renal function may be slightly impaired.

Select I agree with wholeheartedly. A little pricey per lb for me but you get what you pay for. Oxyelite protein is also a good quality and well priced protein.

PES is one of the few companies I place trust in and the helpfulness of their reps only adds value to the company.

Price isn't that bad... Anyone know if they have a discount code or promotions going on now?
You just missed out on our insider deal unfortunately.

As you noted, the price point is fair considering the quality of ingredients used, 3rd party testing in label claims and of course, tremendous taste.

^^ this
not many people at 18 can DL almost 500 pounds and squat over 400

Just focus on a caloric deficit, a good multi, fishoil, creatine and protein powder. you will be set. let the diet and training do the work.

Bro this x 10000000. When I was your age I was in the same spot. Huge, strong but wanted more. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! I had to get Gyno Surgery because I didn't listen. Stick to the basics and eat eat eat. Look at EPIC Pre-workout, lots of good feedback, and our line of Protein Powder by LGSciences.

What type of supplements caused your gyno?

You can get gyno from natural anabolics and test boosters?
