Hi all,
Coming here to get some insights, I feel like I'm lacking in supplements mostly "Post Workout" right now I'm just taking Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey one scoop. I want to start getting into taking some more supplements that will help in anyway (if that makes any sense). My pre-workout i take is EVL Furious Grape. If anybody can post some suggestions, other stuff to put in my post workout protein shake or a supplement to take before sleep (Casein Protein). One of the guys at GNC recommended probiotics but they didn't go to far in depth with what it does and when it should be taken.

Pick whatever preworkout you enjoy. Obviously, depending on your focus, I would recommend:

PES Prolific - Focus/Slight Energy
PES High Volume - Non-Stim Aid (Pumps)
OL Conqu3r Unleashed - Very Well Rounded, Good Energy (nice novel stims)

If you want something that'll stim you out of your mind, I have no idea what to recommend as I don't normally use those.

Post workout nutrition can be whatever is convenient to you. Just hit your macros every day.

Get ya self some No doze caffeine tabs and a tub of high volume

Post workout eat a healthy portioned meal don't spend the extra money on a fancy Bcaa powder

I wouldn't take advice from a GNC employee. They'll sell you anything to make commission. Probiotics may have a slight benefit, but it would most likely be a waste if you don't currently have any digestion issues.

If your only supplements currently are whey and preworkout, I would definitely suggest a daily ergogenic product like Powermax XT or Ergonine. Powermax XT contains a full serving of creatine and betaine, which can improve strength, mass, and power. It also contains an electrolyte blend to help with hydration, as well as glycerol and taurine which can help deliver a pump.

Other than your bases (creatine, betaine, caffeine/preworkout, and protein) you shouldn't need much else. There are other natural anabolic products that might be worth looking into, but if you're new to training and or just getting serious with it you won't need much. Eat big, train hard, be consistent, and the results will come.

I'm really not that good at counting macros or calorie intake. I've been trying to get better at it feel like i am

For pre workout I always like throwing in some extra pump ingredients or nitrates. For post workout I'd throw in 5g creatine mono and then like said above just eat some whole food.

I'd suggest creatine pwo and maybe zma, for me they are the only things worth taking. Get your diet and training in order first then worry about supps or you'll be throwing money down the drain. Truth is you don't need any of them just a good multi and quality krill oil, I threw hundreds of pounds down the drain before I realised they weren't doing s**t for me and I was better spending it on good food.

Hmm good to know, Do you put a scoop in with your post workout protein shake? or is that a separate drink?

What do you use to get your Creatine and when do you take it?

Well, get better sooner rather than later. Your diet is the #1 contributor to your body composition. Look at my earlier posts on this forum, I jumped on supps and "stacks" all the time, with moderate results because while my supplement "stacks" were great, and my training was good, my diet was not. Recently, I've taken supplements solo and with the same "in-tune" training, and adding in a very closely monitored diet, my results are better than ever. I went from 300 dollar a month stacks to 20-50 bucks a month stacks and I'm doing way better. Don't piss away your money on supplements unless you feel you have hit a plateau. Don't listen to marketing hype and do your due diligience of studying whatever you take.

I've been training and dieting well for about 6+ months now doing well also, Just wanted to see if im lacking in supplements

Ok Stop right here........

No supplement helps your bad dietary needs if you are not tracking or being consistent with your diet. This is what you need to address first...
What is your goal?
Gaining?
Dieting?

You need to start with your diet first and foremost before buying supplements. Remember SUPPLEMENTS help Supplement your dietary needs. If you do not have those covered first and foremost you will be throwing away money in the long run.

Supplements don't get you results.your diet and training paint the major part of the picture.

Eat in a caloric surplus, meaning eating more kcals than you need to maintain in order to gain muscle, size, and strength.

Hi all,
Coming here to get some insights, I feel like I'm lacking in supplements mostly "Post Workout" right now I'm just taking Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey one scoop. One of the guys at GNC recommended probiotics but they didn't go to far in depth with what it does and when it should be taken.

Then just keep it simple

Protein (To help reach protein needs which 1lb/g is a good starting point) .... PES, MAN Sports, Animal Whey, Scivation Whey, Blue Star, XF 2.0
Fishoil - 2-3g EPA/DHA Daily (OxiMega from Controlled Labs)
Creatine - 5g/day for 30 days then 3-5g on workout days (allmax, primaforce, animal, on etc)
Multi-Vitamin - Orange Triad or Animal Pak are great options. PES just released a good multi.

Stick to those but fix your diet.

I've been training and dieting well for about 6+ months now doing well also, Just wanted to see if im lacking in supplements

The only supplements I recommend consistently (as opposed to plateau busters) are the well studied easy ergogenics, such as:

Caffeine (100-200 mg)
Betaine (2500mg)
Creatine (5000mg)
Yohimbine HCL (dosage is user dependant, use before fasted cardio. this is a "fat burner")
Superdrol (just kidding)

Start reading food labels and googling food calorie counts and eventually you'll be able to count calories in your head.

Anything extra: Triumph is a dope all in one ergogeic. Probaly the best out there, IMO. Vitaim D is a must have. 2000-5000IU daily is usually the recomended amount.

Only body building supps I use are Triumph and High Volume. Both preworkout and Triumph on off days as well. Everything else is geared towards health wich is very individual. Main focus is always on diet and then training second.

Just eat post workout. No need for anything special.

EDIT: I consider my one daily scoop of whey as food and not a supp.

Hmm good to know, Do you put a scoop in with your post workout protein shake? or is that a separate drink?

You would take Powermax XT either pre or post workout in its own drink or mix it with your pre workout supplement. I personally use it pre workout to help with pumps and muscle fullness. You could also stack Powermax XT with HyperMax XT ( for a nice stimmed pre workout for days you feel like you need that extra kick) or with VasoMax, on days you want an extra pump. The Glycerol in both Powermax XT and Vasomax and the nitrates in VasoMax make for a great experience.

However, I would also address your diet a little more since you admitted to just getting into the habit of counting macros and looking at food labels. That goes such a long way.

Get better at counting macros and caloric intake. That's step #1. You say you're using protein powder, but you really have no idea how much protein powder you should be using if you don't at least have a general idea of what your macros look like.

If I could only use one supp, it's be an all-in-one ergogenic like Tr1umph. Covers your staples like creatine and betaine, and overall just includes lots of ingredients in there to help with body composition, power, endurance, recovery, etc.

You mention preworkout...if you want to go simple, stack Tr1umph with a caffeine tab or with the preworkout you have now. If you wanted something a little more comprehensive than a caffeine tab or your current pre, look into Conqu3r, which gives big doses of several ingredients to help with pump, focus, energy, and performance. Just depends on how much money you want to spend vs how much of a Cadillac of a preworkout you want.

Post-workout, I go home and make dinner. No need to overcomplicate it.
