SuperCarb!

I wish i had supercarb when I played rugby. Could have mixed it in with my pre-match beer... (its a rugby thing)

I wish I could cook. Then, I could put SuperCarb to all kinds of interesting uses.

But I suck.

Still, I love just getting spoonfulls of the stuff and sucking it down or putting it in a shake.

I envy you creative cooking types. ;)
 
i just got my shipment today, put 2 spoons into a cold glass of water. Bit of a flavour there, but it's more ike an undercurrent...makes a glass of water more yummy
 
I just received my supercarb today after a somewhat lengthy wait, but just in time for the beginning of my bulk next week. I'll be utilizing it pre/during workouts instead of dextrose, in hopes of less fat accrual during my bulk.
 
I just used mine today during my workout, and had great stamina start to finish. It thickened the in-workout shake quite a bit (whey, bcaa's and supercarb) as well.
 
Yeah, me too.

I especially love it when I really can't stand to eat anymore food.

The other day, for example, I ended up having to cram four meals in a short period of time because I didn't plan very well. After third meal, though, I really couldn't cram anymore food down.

So, the last meal was a protein shake + SuperCarb.

Quite handy.

being type 1 diabetic, balancing carbs, pre- and post- workouts, is something i do keenly - very much for my glycemic control, but also to help avoid too much fat gain (especially when bulking).

did anyone ever test the postprandial bg response? i'd be interested in trying this out myself and providing a log if it will help - i have to test my bloods several times a day as it is, and i precisely weigh my shakes to achieve the tightest control i can insulin/glucose-wise. often i find i need to use fibrous carbs in a pwo shake to help with slowing down the rise in blood glucose in an attempt to match the onset and action of my insulin, so a non-fibrous, low gi carb source like this would be of great interest to bodybuilding diabetics - and regular diabetics for that matter too!

i'm in the uk - i'd be happy to help.

Velikimajmun was referring to the end of Februrary but I don't see it on any sites and it's March! :(
 
I just ran out of supercarb today after my PWO shake...impatiently waiting for the release of SuperCarb...don't wanna have to use ground up oats again in my shakes...GAG
 
I'm just waiting to order more from their damn site, assuming it's ever actually up and running again. I've been waiting for weeks to order more of the stuff, hopefully to ensure I don't run out.

The site is ready, there is some issue with some technical third party stuff that is being resolved and the site should be up in the next few days.

As for when the retailers will have it, I'll ask Par Deus again and get back.
 
Im hoping to get my hand on this stuff asap to help with energy during sports at school during a cut. This stuff will be great to help cutting while not loosing energy, cant wait to order some!
 
when will it be released? Also I normally put a cup of oats in my protein. Do you think supercarb would be a good replacement?
 
Going to be a couple more months before it's released as a final version to retailers, unfortunately.

In case y'all didn't know, Avant Labs and Mind & Muscle Magazine are splitting into separate entities, so that is taking up a lot of time.
 
Any idea how the retail product is going to compare pricewise to the beta version? I'm just wondering if it'd be worthwhile to stock up on the beta, or wait for a possibly cheaper retail product.

I'm sure it'll be cheaper at retailers.

Are there any labels or supplement facts (like serving size, amount per serving, ect) anywhere or will that just be on the retail version?
 
The beta shouldn't be any different from the final, except in pricing and maybe sizes sold.

OCC, there wasn't any of that info on the very first betas that I got, but that may have changed. I'll check. BTW, I believe 1 teaspoon = 5 grams, but I'll check on that, too.

actually par has commented that he isn't sure about this. He is considering using a sweetner to bring it up to a 100% as sweet as sugar. This is one of threasons for the delay in release.

Hmm, I wonder if it would be possible to release it both with added sweetner and without? I've been mixing it with xtend and Substance WPI and that makes for a very sweet combination already. Any added sweetner in this case would make it almost sickly sweet.
 
I prefer to have it without sweetener. This way I can add it to my shakes with other supplements which are usually already sweetened (and I'm not the only one doing that).

So if you want to have an artificially sweetened version please keep the unsweetened version as well.
 
I would like to second the request for keeping an unsweetened version of Supercarb available. I tend to avoid artificial sweeteners.
 
I'm gonna have to chime in and encourage you guys to either keep the sweetness the same or at least have 2 versions available (maybe a sweeter version for cooking/baking purposes and a less sweet version for everything else).

I can't tell you how useful this product has already become in the short amount of time i have had it.

A job well done.

I agree. I think if you guys add another sweetner, it will be too sweet. I use 50g with my shakes and it's already very sweet. I realize that you guys want it to be a sugar substitute for cooking as well so like myfathersboy, hopefully you can make two versions if you decide to continue with sweetner idea.
 
Don't want to sound like a broken record, but I would also like to request that you don't make it sweeter, or at least offer 2 versions if you do!
 
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I just got some Supercarb and had some comments...

1. Doesn't dissolve all that great in cold water. Maybe a finer grain would help with this? Not a big deal in any case.

2. It does caramelize, but my attempts to caramelize it have made a very bitter caramel. I might be getting it too hot and allowing it to burn. I will keep trying. Also, caramelizing it might send the GI and GL values through the roof, so I dunno if this is even a good idea.

3. I would like to see a pure Supercarb and also a Supercarb Plus that would contain an artificial sweetener to bring it to the same sweetness per volume of table sugar, for use in baking.
 
Isn't xylitol more of a sweetener? This is an outright sugar replacement, with calories/taste/texture of sugar, but only half the sweetness and a very low gi, so it is slow burning as well. Kinda like comparing apples and oranges I suspect.
