This is, by far, my favorite shake recipie. It is super healthy, and masks supplements well (if you want to add them). Whoop it up in the blender, start with about 1 cup of water, and add more as needed. Make sure to start with it extra thick to blend the oats, bananna, ice, and vitamins. I believe that blending the multi vitamin increases its bioavailability, and yields a time released effect. This has about 43-44 grams of protein. One extra scoop of strawberry casein and 1 Tbsp canola oil would probably make it cool for bulking. The extra casein would up it to about 65-66 grams of protein. I may add detailed nutrient info later. Even thouhg it's high calorie, it isn't all that filling. Sometimes I drink it pre-workout.

(1) frozen, ripe bananna
(1/2) cup DRY powdered milk
(1/2) cup RAW quick-cook oatmeal
(1) scoop of vanilla flavored whey protein (chocolate is okay, strawberry would probably work well)
(1-2) tsp of canola oil
(6-8) ice cubes
pinch of salt
(1/3) of a low-potency multi vitamin (trust me)
500mg vitamin C

Optional ingredients that I recommend:
caffeine, milk thistle, aniracetam, DMAE, dextrose, creatine, (anything that isn't overly nasty).

Did I mention that this shake is really cheap?

Thanks for sharing bro :-)

I agree that you should sub out for flax or olive oil. I like your vitamin ideas though. I make a similar shake myself with milk, whey, fruit, frozen yogurt, and olive oil or peanut butter. Cheap and effective!

I use powdered milk because you can use less water to reconstitute it. It has 8 grams of protein per 1/3 cup (dry), and its cheap (<10$ for the equivalent of 80 cups). I also think that it has a richer taste than regular skim. The raw oats are cool because they dont thicken or flavor the shake as much as cooked oats do. Also, raw oats might help accomplish the time-released carbohydrate thing. This shake gives me lasting carb energy that i can actually feel, and it is'nt very rich or filling like the calorie content would suggest. I like Canola because the fatty acid profile is similar to olive, but the flavor is neutral and it is cheaper. I imagine that most oils (no seasame or peanut oil) would work fine though. I like peanut butter, but i think it is a little heavy for a pre-workout shake.
