Super Bowl Champion Predictions

I think I missed that one?! Bathroom break or something :)

I thought the Fritos commercial was pretty good, with the 2 oldster couple tripping and wrestling for the "loose" bag on the floor, with him standing over her, but she having the last laugh holding his dentures :) Many very good ones though, just a great entertainment value.

I think my biggest disappointment of the game was watching Janet Jackson Lip Sync her "just for you" song. I missed the other half time performers, had to get kids in bed. But Aerosmith in the beginning, you could tell were genuinely live and sounded very good. Janet Jackson, if she was singing at all live, was well underneath her voice on the cd. She looks so good in the video, but what the hell was up with that stoopid outfit at half time?!

Man that was way to stressful for my liking. They did it though. Bragging rights for another year! Hell yeah! Looks like the Pats winning streak will extend into the 04 season.

Yeah, that was a VERY STRESSFUL game?!

For the coaches, you gotta wonder how in the hell do they NOT end up with heart attacks and strokes during games like that?! You feel it just being a fan, it's got to be 10X more stressful for them.

Damn, hats off to the Panthers team though, definitely a great effort by a great team. I'm sure they made lots of new fans tonight, and I'm one of them.

Hey, how about that 2 point conversion the Pats made down the stretch..... faked snap to Brady, but Kevin Faulk (I think it was Faulk) grabbed it and sneaked it right in?! Clutch call!

That was quite a game........ it's a good thing I had my portable deliberator with me. It keep me alive until the end of the game. After the game I made it to the hospital where they told me apparently I skipped a quadruple bypass and my heart just exploded along with a blood vessel in my head.
All I can say about the panthers is.............WOW and I do not want to play them again........ever!!!!! Delhomme was pretty impressive to put it mildly. They have my respect. Hopefully the coach will make the right off seasons decisions and they'll be as good next year.

Hey, atleast you won, that is the important thing right.!:D

No pain , no gain :D

best part of the entire night..... even better than the game itself, adam viniteri making up for his two previous misses, Jake "I want to" Delhomme drive to tie the Pats with a minute left, even better than Steve Smith's stiff-arm was Janet Jackson' Boobies........

Amazing game...I drank a fifth of absolute,my head is still fuzzy...Give the Carolina Panthers alot of credit,They kept coming back even took the lead..The biggest surprise to me was The Patriots running game.If you told me before the game that the Patriots would have more rushing yardage than the Panthers I woulda said you were nuts....Tom Brady what can you say he is the best Quarterback in Football 2 Superbowl rings and 2 MVP award's in 4 years that would be a great carreer for most and he is only 26....scary aint it.......How about those comercials...The dog where he bite's the guy in the Gonads to get the beer ...How about the Horse Farting and burning the girls hair....Funny stuff....Thanks Yimen for the comment about the die hards,Carolina has nothing to be ashamed of they played a great game....

Tom Brady..is there any doubt who the best QB in football is...Take all the stats and QB ratings and shove em..What matters is wins and losses...2 Suprbowl rings and 2 MVP awards in 4 years That would be a hall of fame career for most and he is only 26...The comparisons to Joe Montana does not sound so silly anymore....Question where do the Pat's rate in the all time greatest teams win 15 consecitive wins...They have to be right up there with the 1972 Dolphins 17-0 season especially now with free agency and salary cap.....Hmmm

That game was a freakin classic. I expected a 17-13 or 20-17 score, didn't think the it would be 32-29. All I care is that Carolina covered the spread and put $250 in my pocket. Brady representing the Bay Area real well. I think the Pats weren't getting the credit they deserved all year long because they're not a very flashy team, maybe even not as talented as a few other teams according to "experts", but they are the BEST TEAM. Gotta give the Panthers a lot of credit because they clearly could not run the ball and still managed to score 29 points on a rock solid Pats defense.

Belicheck I think has to be mentioned as one of the best Coaches of All-Time. Parcells has never won a Super Bowl without him, and he's done amazing things for the Patriots. He's like the Bill Walsh of defense.

I was surprised to see the Pats run as well as they did. I thought that would be the X-factor in this game. I just wasn't convinced about Antawn Smith, especially against Carolina's defense.

Best part of the Super Bowl had to be Janet Jackson's tittie popping out, that gave an instant Testosterone rush. My vote for best commercial has to go to Budweiser's donkey.

49ers next year baby ( hell the Panthers made it why can't anyone else ? )

Damn good game though.

Congrats to the diehards.

If you stick your neck out, it is likely to get cut off.

See you guys next year,
Same Pat time, Same pat channel .:D
Hey Cricket be careful of what you post and then delete.

Another commercial that had me laughing out load............

I think it was a Budweiser commercial..........

Shows a referee standing on the sidelines after a questionable call with one of the coaches REALLY yelling his head off, yet the ref remained all calm and collected as if oblivious to the all the yelling and screaming. The game announcer's voice over questions "how does he do it"?

Then the immediate flip to the ref sitting at home with his wife yelling and screaming in the same fashion, right in his ear with no response from him........ something like "3 WEEKS, IT'S BEEN 3 WEEKS ON THE KITTY LITTER..... WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THAT ?!?! "

A few of you married bro's can relate to that one.

;)

There were some good commercials this year but they seemed to be lacking. I didn't see one descent Pepsi commercial. The Budweiser donkey one though was so messed up it was funny.

I have to disagree on Tom Brady being the best quarterback in the NFL. I do agree he is a good quarterback but not the best. If we forget all about numbers and stats, then shouldnt Trent Dilfer's season in the year the Ravens won the Super Bowl be considered one of the best season's...I mean all the guy did was win games. But you don't hear too much of Trent Dilfer's success right now do you?? I believe a lot of it has to do with the system you play within and right now, like you said, Brady is playing through a great system under Belichick. Comparisons to Joe Montana could possibly be proven true in the future, but for now they seem a bit premature. If Brady stays on this pace for the majority of his career then I would be more likely to change my opinion. Another thing....everyone seems to talk about how the Patriots were never given enough respect throughout the season and postseason. Well how about the Panthers?? They came in and played with what proved to be the best team in football and did more than just hold their own. When most teams get discouraged and lose hope they fought back and proved better than anyone gave them credit for. John Fox has proved so far to be an excellent head coach in turning that team around. Anyway, it was definitely a great game, reminded me of the Super Bowl when the Titans played the Rams because the game was so close. Looking forward to next season. Maybe my Redskins (go ahead, laugh it up) will produce some more wins this year.

I missed that one. Must have been when I was reaching for that uhhh protein shake.

There are many EXCELLENT quarterbacks. The debate about Brady is a moot point. He has 2 superbowl rings in 3 years. The QB is unquestionably the leader of the team onfield. Differentiating the best from all the rest by personal stats is meaningless. The guy who leads his team to the superbowl is the best. Football is afterall, a team sport.

It's like trying to say that Qasay (Carolina's field goal kicker) is a better field goal kicker right now in terms of personal stats than Adam Vinatieri. Stats are stats, there's no argument. Vinatieri was only 1 for 3 yesterday, not so hot. Yet he won the superbowl for his team. As Bob Kraft says, when the pressure's on, Adam is money. So he's the best right now too.

Fox is undeniably an EXCELLENT coach. Amazing turnaround for the Carolina franchise. But Belichick is the best coach and has the best system right now because he wins the superbowl.

This is all subject to change come next Summer, but right now there's no rational argument on any of these points. Redskins could very well be a top contender, Patriots may only go 500....... only time will tell

jet's LMAO no way.....The Redsox will probably win the American league east next year..Pedro and Schilling is gonna be hard to beat..If the Yankees still had Petit and Roger they might of had a chance...But Stienbrenner let em get away....Oh well it was a nice ride

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I never tried to argue that the Patriots werent the best team in football or that Belichick is the best coach in the league. I was simply saying I don't think the Panthers and Fox got enough credit, even after the game, for what they have accomplished this season. While I did agree that Brady is a good quarterback I was saying I think he is largely a product of the system he plays under. IMO his coaches and personnel utilize his talents more effieciently than a lot of teams do with their quarterbacks. Again, thats just MY opinion. I'm not taking anything away from the Patriots, their world champs, what more can you say.

And about the Redskins, I don't seriously think their going to be a contender it was more of a desparate cry from a fan who still has hope through the recent, seemingly endless losing seasons. Like you said though, next season will unfold in time.

On the Redskins.........

I listened to a commentator just today on ESPN say the Redskins are one of the teams to watch for next year, so cast aside your feelings of desperation. There's hope. :)

On Fox/Panters.......

They DIDN'T have the respect coming into the playoffs. They do now, absolutely. They were tough as nails right through the playoffs, and that was apparent to anyone watching.

On Brady......

The coaching staff develop their own system. But onfield, the QB has to call the plays and execute. Tom Brady is one cool cucumber. With 2 exceptions this season, 1 being your Redskins, ANY TIME the pressure is on, he marches his team downfield and either delivers 6 points or sets up Vinatieri for a field goal. He knows he can do it. His team mates know he can do it. Is it because he is a good or mediocre quarterback? No. He has the arm to deliver a strike, the peripheral vision, the talent, the composure. No one, repeat, NO ONE does it better than Brady. He gets it done. He ALWAYS gets it done when it counts.

He is MUCH better than good. Personal stats don't mean anything when you can't deliver a W for your team. On paper is Payton Manning the better QB? In any event, Manning is a good comparison for this topic.

2 weeks prior to the AFC Championship game, Manning appeared invincible. Then the Patriots defense kicked the snot out of his offense and he came unglued. The Panther's D overall is comparable to New England's. Brady didn't fall apart under pressure, he executed. And he did get pressure, he did throw 1 costly interception. No sacks, but several near sacks. He doesn't get rattled, doesn't come unglued. He has a rare blend of talent that includes calm confidence. He can throw the longer passes from time to time to Deion Branch and Bethel Johnson. But they generally tend to grind down the opposing defense with a short passing game, with Brady moving laterally, and increasingly, some running plays.

Against lesser opponents, Manning will post more yards on passing and probably more points. The Patriots always seem to win in a nail biter. But in the tough games, Brady still gets the W.

Belichick himself said HE was not the person on the field making the calls and executing the plays. He gives his players a plan of attack, the PLAYERS execute it. Not the coaches, not the system, etc.

While Jake Delhomme had a few very exciting pass plays during the game in the 2nd half, Brady was the one who executed consistently all the way through. Brady, with 1 minute 4 seconds remaining with his team suddenly behind, calmly marched his team downfield and set up Adam Vinatieri for the winning field goal. That's been their m.o. all season long. They seem to know they can beat anyone, and then they play that way, Brady driving the show.

He wins...........

repeat

He wins .........

That's what's important to teams, coaches and fans. Winning is everything. Exciting plays are quickly forgotten in light of the Superbowl victor.

The results speak for themselves. He is the best QB in football right now. He has his place among the greats now wherever that is. And in interviews, at least publicly, he doesn't care about that and is almost embarrassed at being put on that pedastal. Practically no bravado in him at all. He said today that this is the most enjoyable year he's had ever playing football. Loves the game, loves the team he plays on, loves practicing, and Summer sessions even.

The Patriots have 2 first round draft picks, 2 second round, and 3 third round picks. They're well within salary cap. I understand Ty Law wants to return next year even if that means he won't be receiving all the salary originally negotiated in his contract. So they should be right back in the thick of the race again next year :)

Should make for a helluva matchup once again with your Redskins ;)

I sure hope so. Like I said before I'm getting sick of the Redskins losing. They always seem to almost come together but never fully make it. I only hope they can compete with your Pats next year....that would be a huge step forward.

must feel great for your hometown team to win it all..... damn.... when will my Seahawks ever get there and even have a chance to win the big one....

Sage I heard Ron Jaworkski..calling for the Seahawks to be in the Superbowl next year...That team impressed me...Hassleback is a Boston College boy and a great QB IMO....

Over 1 million people showed up in Boston for the Patriots welcome home parade. I wish I was one of them but couldn't go. I went 2 years ago, it was like 4 degrees with windchill in the teens below zero......but was WELL worth it.

Yes it is! Don't worry Sage if the Pats can win Super Bowls anyone can. They will have their day. It wasn't that long ago I was going to Pats games when they were going 1-15 or 2-14 for the season.

I don't think I'd say ANYONE can win the big one, it is a tremendous accomplishment no matter how you slice it. But I think what you're getting at is every dog has his day. And these days the Patriots are the top dogs :)

I think it was Ted Johnson today, who paid tribute both to prior generations of patriots team members and fans who stuck with their team during those abysmal times. Johnson said something to the effect that they were all a part of this year's team as well. A bit melodramatic, but a fine gesture and salute nonetheless.

:)

Jaws is the man for saying the Hawks needs to be watched next year. You guys dont even know how much my life rotates around Seattle sports... Mariners, Hawks, Sonics, UW football..... I live for these teams man
