Like the butterfly who flapped his wings and unwittingly creates a cascading reaction ending in a tsunami.

That's why one can't be too careful about these things. But don't let on NPursuit ;)

You live here in MA, right? I thought you knew................ Belichick IS GOD!

A couple of quotes from Len Pasquarelli's column at ESPN.COM:

There were occasions when the unheralded Vrabel, a defender of modest skills who has been put into position by Belichick and Crennel to be effective, aligned at nose tackle in the four-man front. In those situations, he usually would take one step forward, strike a blow at center Jeff Saturday, then quickly backpedal into a short-coverage zone. Twice he got back in time to make breakups on pass plays.

Quote from the Patriot's Rodney Harrison (again from Pasquarelli's column):

"We're a thinking man's team," said Harrison, who snuffed out the Colts' first drive with an interception in the end zone and also registered 10 tackles. "And if you're going to try to think along with us, to match wits with Belichick, man, you're going to come out of the game with a headache."

:D

Im sure all you guy's are well aware of the Sports illustrated Jinx.....Guess who is on the cover this week..........That's right Carolina Panthers....

Carolina has played consistently great football. My joking around about avatars and butterflies aside, from what I've been reading, the game should be a close one, similar to the playoff game with Tenessee.

Not to be too serious about anything, here are some funny snippets from Randy Hill at FOXsports.com:

We are to be reminded that the Patriots have not lost a football game since before Californians elected a governor who's unable to pronounce the name of their state.

The seemingly invincible New England defense made seemingly unstoppable Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning look even more flustered than my barber. According to upcoming reports, Peyton's only hope to salvage his dignity was to moon a few Patriots players. Fortunately, Manning's game pants were ruled "down by contact."

Leaks from a team meeting may indicate that the Patriots still aren't convinced they need to Cowboy Up.

News from Las Vegas should reveal that the odds are 2 to 1 that all inebriated former quarterbacks would admit wanting to kiss CBS sideline reporter Bonnie Bernstein.

Panthers receiver Steve Smith may admit that he'll keep his cell phone in his uniform in case the Patriot secondary forces him to call for help. Or directions.

lol those are awesome PC1... drunk or not I'd hit Bonnie tho, can't blame the guy for tryin'... he's just gotta remember not to do it next time in front of the man with the "funny black box on his shoulder"... heh...

Bonnie B is hot, I agree.

I caught the Namath incident that game. The way he was speaking, I thought maybe he was in the early throes of alzheimer's or something? It didn't occur to me that he was sh*tfaced until he was trying to kiss her?! Disgraceful how an older man like Namath would be chasing her around like that on tv

[drooling.....]

:D

The Panthers are gonna make the Patriots wish they didn't even make the playoffs.
Bring on the pain baby!

The Panthers are highly underrated. They have developed a smashmouth attitude and Delhomme adds a touch of class and finess. The patriots are going to be a little overconfident and it will be ugly for them in the second half. The patriots defense from 2 weeks ago wont even show up.

GO PANTHERS! BEAT PC1 and MadMan ... Uh Oh, I mean the Patriots :P

No over confidence on this team,I don't hear anyone trash talking, other than that fat Warren Sapp..Oh by the way what will he be doing on Sunday..Playing football....NOT....

The panthers are underated, but the Patriots are the best team...16-2 to this point winning 14 straight. That alone is no gaurantee they are going to win but I think they will.....Saying this team will not show up is a little crazy..The best coach in football will have them ready, the rest is up to them to execute......

Well now you've done it. You have crossed the line of good taste and sportsmanship by reducing one of the world's greatest sporting events into a personal conflict between you and two of your very bretheren here on am.com, MaDmaN and I. A word spoken like this is just like a gunshot fired, it cannot be taken back. You can't even go back and edit/delete that post, because I've captured it here for all brothers at am.com to witness.

You have just irreversibly hexxed the Panthers. You have just SQUASHED whatever chance of victory they had just as if you squashed a bug on your kitchen floor under your shoe. The Panther's superbowl aspirations have just evaporated into a black hole, the ozone layer, never-never land.

It's a shame, I was hoping for a close contest and an exciting game. Realize on Sunday, in your depths of despair, that as the game inexorably nears the now inevitable conclusion, you have only yourself to blame. Live and learn Bro!

Well stated there PC1 he did just kill whatever chance they had,he might as well be that guy at the Chicago Cubs game that interfered with the player trying to catch the ball.....

Yimen E.Cricket ...Kudo's to you for trying to wind us up,but it just ain't gonna work.I think myself,Pc1 and NPursuit have intelligently made our case why we think the Patriot's are going to win..With that being said I did not see any arrogance against the Panthers but just the opposite.I think we all agreed that they are a great team, and there is no guarantee New England is going to win. They will have to bring there A game in order to win if not Carolina will win the game.If you care to debate specifics like the Carolina's front 4 which I believe is the best in all of football,or specific matchups then let's have at it..But simply saying Patriots are going to wish they never made the playoffs because there are not going to show up, to me is lame but whatever....See ya Sunday in the Forum win or loose ill be here!!!!! :D

I'm surprised Yimen E Cricket is the only Panthers fan on this board? Actually, I think he's less of a Panthers fan than he is anti-Patriots, he just wants them to lose, even if he inadvertently just wrecked their chances.

No Carolina bro's here rooting for the Panthers?

This has now been 100% fully erradicated by Yimen E. Cricket's post. I'll sleep better tonight

You guys crack me up, baawaaaahhhaaaahhhhh....staring at you for a second with no expression...........baaawaaaahhaaaaahhaaaa.

You guys are correct, i have no ties to the panthers. I dont have a local team, all i have is the razorbacks, so i have no choice but to make a pick and enjoy the game. I always choose a team at the beginning of the season. This year i picked the bucs again LOL. sitting here looking kind of embarassed. lol

So, here i am looking around on the boards. i find that we have a couple of diehards. Well that is just my game huckleberry. :D I love to have an adversary on game day. :D

I am not much of a statistician, I just follow my gut, and you guys make me sick to my stomach, LOL, i hope the panthers kick the hell out of Tom Brady. :D

I actually pulled for the patriots 2 years ago, i was feeling all patriotic from 9/11. i wanted them to go from that day! I also pulled for the eagles to make it a patriotic superbowl. Because they (patriots and eagles) are both symbols of freedom and of our great country. I know kinda korny.

But thats all over now.
The underdog shall have his day this sunday.

PC1, the info is posted, you better copy it before i remove it in humiliation... LOL

Yeah, this stuff gets to be funny. I enjoy these exchanges on this board. Although they're in the minority, I have read a few prognosticators saying Carolina can win. They've beaten the best of the NFC along the way, not many guys thought they had a chance of making it this far. So all kidding aside, you gotta tip your hat to a team like that. No one gets there by luck.

I've either listened to, or watched every Patriots game this season. I don't charactarize myself as being fanatical though. Kind of like you said in an earlier post, the NFL is the gladiator sport. I admire ALL those guys because they've made the grade and are ON the teams.

If the Patriots didn't win the big one on Sunday, I'd be disappointed for sure, but it would also be a great thing for a team like Carolina to have made it all the way and won it. I've lived in the land of the Red Sox all my life and know enough not to become TOO emotionally involved with a professional team.

Still, when you consider the teams they've beaten this year ...... Denver @ Denver, Colts home & away, the Titans TWICE, and blew out Buffalo at home by the same score (31-0) Buffalo trounced them game 1, that's an incredible season. That makes them an incredible team, frankly.

So I'm very comfortable with being a Patriots fan going into this weekend. I'm pretty confident they'll pull it off, and I wouldn't be surprised if they win by 2-3 touchdowns at all.

Your from Arkansas Yimen....hey tell me is it true it's legal to marry your sister there...LOL..:)

Now now, MaDmaN, easy on Yimen E.... Everyone knows that in the land of Bill Clinton, it's NOT ok to be marrying one's sister.

Unlike other States though, It IS perfectly legal to be engaging in SEXUAL RELATIONS with one's sister, especially if she's a sister once removed.

Procreating with one's sister, while still legal there, is nonetheless still frowned upon by most.

:P

I'm niether a pats fan or a panthars fan, but I do think that the pats are but mear mortals on the road and will have more than they're hands full come Sunday. I'm too chick **** to predict a winner but the Patriots ain't just going to walk away with this like many people believe.

This is true Hulkster they are 6-2 I would say a bit better than mere mortal on the road...but in this game neither team has a home advantage..

But your right it will not be a romp,I think the team that play's mistake free football wins...

I will pick the Pats. IMO they are the better team. The line (Pats by 7) seems about right to me. Also, quite a few of the Pats' players have ties to Houston (where I am from). No, I don't have tickets. I hear the cheap seats are going for about $2500 per. Screw that. Rakey, you lucky f*ck. Are you really going to the game?

Good one! I usually bring out the best in people and this is no exception. :rolleyes

Just because its legal, does not mean we all do it. :rolleyes
Or
Just because we all do it, does not make it legal: rolleyes

The RING........

KISS, the RING, BABY!!!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man that was way to stressful for my liking. They did it though. Bragging rights for another year! Hell yeah! Looks like the Pats winning streak will extend into the 04 season.

Damnit #@^&!^)(^&^%?>"+*%%

Damn good game though.

Congrats to the diehards.

If you stick your neck out, it is likely to get cut off.

See you guys next year,
Same Pat time, Same pat channel .:D

THAT was one wild ride. Both teams just kept coming and coming. Started out as a defensive battle with Carolina getting stuffed on offense, but Delhomme threw some amazing passes 2nd half. Long and ACCURATE. They proved they deserved to be in the Super Bowl.

Vinatieri, once again, the golden foot when it really counts.

A wild roller coaster ride fer sure :) But glad to be on the winning side.

Hey, did anyone catch the Cialis commercial in the 3rd quarter?! The announcer says at the end something like "erections lasting longer than 4 hours are rare but in that event it occurs, seek medical attention immediately".

OMG, I howled with laughter, I thought that was the funniest commercial right there. With a 4 hour erection, someone better DAMNED WELL get some attention pretty quick!!! HA!
