I like the fact that they have 7 fights on the undercard, and all of them could be interesting.

Yeah, I'll definitely watch this one. I haven't seen any of Cung Le's MMA fights yet. I'm looking forward to seeing some though.

Looks to make an interesting card.

That is a good card, probably better than UFC 72. I'm interested in the Joey V. vs. Ninja match.

Nick Gonzalez is from my area so I am rooting for him and I always love watching Bang fight. With all of the hype around Shamrock/Baroni, this card is definitely going to get a lot of attention.

This is one that catches my eye.

Murilo "Ninja" Rua vs. Joey Villasenor

Both are on the cusp of becoming or regaining bigtime cred, not having seen Ninja since last year's Bushido versus Kang, I'll currently take Joey V. on his superior boxing and ferocity. I think he'll straight punch through Ninja's more circular strike game and can spin out of ground traps.

ill take ninja by 2nd round ko.

Joey also got KO'ed in a recent fight against Lawler. They each have the tools to be a force, but something jsut has not clicked for them. If the Ninja that fought Rampage shows up, then I think he will win.

That's right, both have been just a bit short. Lawlers' the Brawler, which is strength on strength versus Villesanor, have you seen any of Ninja's Cage Rage Matches, Rodja? I haven't, but I will.

I hate to say this as I am not a Baroni fan at all, but I hope he finally shuts Shamrock up. Frank is such a friggin talker and only shows up once a year

I watched Ninja's last Cage Rage match last night, hoping to learn something about his current form, but it was over after the first or second exchange in a way I've never seen in MMA, his opponent cracked his shinbone on Ninja's, bleeding profusely down his foot and the doctor stopped it, an infrequently seen ending to Thai and Burmese standup bouts.

I would have said that he was striking like a stiffer version of his brother, but it was over too fast to properly make that analysis.

Gonzalez is gonna have his hands full with the Punk. Great card, can't wait.

Getting sick of this.

&&&&&&&&&&&

Chute Boxe middleweight Murilo Rua (Pictures) has dropped off June 22's Showtime pay-per-view card in San Jose, Calif. after failing a California State Athletic Commission physical, the promoter announced Friday.

Scheduled to fight on the undercard of Frank Shamrock (Pictures)'s showdown against Phil Baroni (Pictures), Rua was a week away from facing Joey Villasenor (Pictures) for the vacant EliteXC 185-pound crown. A replacement for "Ninja" will be announced "very soon," said EliteXC's Gary Shaw, who is promoting in conjunction with Strikeforce.

I am really starting to hate the CSAC. Why did Ninja fail?

No idea. I heard that A. Silva failed his physical for K-1 because he has a pituitary tumor. That was at least what one of the Sherdog writers implied.

Yep gigantism, it is the same reason Choi failed. Falaniko Vitale is rumored to be a replacement, which would still be a good fight.

probably too many cuncussions.. in CA they make you take CAT SCAN and MRI of your brain as part of the physical.

Thats why Saku failed, i heard someone got paid off to let him fight because it was too much money going into the fight to cancel.

More bad news :frustrate

- CHARLES "KRAZY HORSE" BENNETT OFF STRIKEFORCE
Tuesday, June 19, 2007 - by Ken Pishna - MMAWeekly.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett, who was set to face Victor “Joe Boxer” Valenzuela in a rematch on Friday night's Strikeforce event, is off of the fight card. Bennett was recently arrested, with a booking date of June 15, 2007, for two charges of violating his probation in Marion County, Fla. Apparently, he will not be able to clear up his legal troubles in time to make the fight.

Bennett is an unorthodox fighter that established himself with EliteXC, which is co-promoting Friday's Strikeforce "Shamrock vs. Baroni" event in San Jose, Calif., by knocking out KJ Noons at EliteXC's inaugural event on Showtime earlier this year.

its a solid card, and hopefully frank gets quiet after this one. If he beats Phil (which is likely) than he will never quiet down

Well, rumor is that now Rua may get medical clearance after all.

The CSAC needs to get their asses in gear. It is not fair for the fans, fighters, and promoters to have this going on so close to the actual event.

It's a go! Ninja is fighting. Rodja, you're right. It always seems to be CSAC too.

Hurdles in the way of Phil Baroni (Pictures) and Murilo Rua's (Pictures) anticipated fights Friday in San Jose, Calif. have been cleared, California State Athletic Commission Executive Officer Armando Garcia told Sherdog.com.

Baroni's agent Ken Pavia said Wednesday morning that his fighter was given a clean bill of health and would fight Shamrock in the main event of Friday's co-promotion between Strikeforce and EliteXC in San Jose, Calif.

A report surfaced Tuesday on graciefighter.com that Baroni's participation was in jeopardy after the UFC faxed an MRI from 2004 to the California State Athletic Commission. However, CSAC Executive Officer called the report erroneous, saying the faxed MRI came from Strikeforce promoter Scott Coker.

Rua will fight Joey Villasenor (Pictures) Friday on the pay-per-view card for the EliteXC middleweight title.
