i saw a dermatologist about a birth mark i was worried about and of course asked him if there was anything I could use. He told me nothing and only time would fade them. He told me Vitamin E and Cocoa butter would just waste my time. I think I'm going to get a second opinion on that birthmark LOL.JonesersRX7 said:Did you go see a dermatoligist? I have an appointment to have her look and see. I don't know what I am hoping for, is there something that can be taken orally, a shot perhaps to help with this problem?
Have you lost any weight since Jan? How do they look 6 months later?
Hey man thats good progress you got there. If the cocoa butter and vit e is working for you, I say stick with it. Looking forward to seeing your improvement.Wedgylx said:i saw a dermatologist about a birth mark i was worried about and of course asked him if there was anything I could use. I'll post some newer pics maybe this week after i lose some water weight from a 1T/4AD cycle i just ran. I've leaned out and added mass since JAN and shockingly, my stretchmarks are almost gone. I'd say the cocoa butter and Vit E worked well for me, but I'm gonna try they Retina A if i need it again
I'll be taking pics in 2-3 weeks. The stretch marks on my arms have improved greatly as I've said. The ones in my armpit alos look alot better. Unfortunately I recently started to get stretchmarks on my chest that look pretty bad.Rx Lift said:Hey man thats good progress you got there. Apply cocoa butter at night after shower and never before you walk the door in the sunlight. Sunlight and cocoa butter can actually darken skin and surrounding marks making them more noticeable.Deific said:take your multivitamin. Apply the Coco butter morning and night preferably after a shower. Its partially preventative and isn't a cure. Good luck!

(2) Someone mentioned Mederma (sp?) earlier. Anyone know if this stuff really works? A tube is like $12 and you are supposed to use it 2x daily for something like 60-90 days (for old scars, marks). There are some other products on the shelf next to Mederma; I guess sort of 'generics'... anyone know if any of these other specific 'scar/stretch mark reducer/eliminators' work well or not?

Coco butter is great to help you prevent getting scars. i.e. pregnant woman using it all during the pregnancy so they dont have strech marks
Retin-A or aka retinol is a cream that is jam packed with vitamin A @ about 100,000 iu which is very powerful but more or less for moisturizing
There is a product out there called "strixaderm" it actually will help you to get rid of scars and stretch marks all together ... Consider it to be an alternative to botox because this cream is so powerful that it actually increases collogen production by about 327%???? I've seen it with my own eyes and it takes 4-6 weeks to cure even some of the nastiest stretch marks. ITs pretty crazy to watch as the weeks go by and your marks/ scars get smaller and smaller. Its kinda pricy. Vitamin world sells it for $70 an about $50 w/ the discount. I say try it it out for anyone. With there return policy if it doesnt work just bring it back after a month or so.it can't hurt and I KNOW it works
Hoped my 2 cents helped out a little

King Nothing said:I've got all my supplies in now: Palmer's cocoa butter w/ E, caprylic acid, and retinA 1%. Anyone got a good dosing scheme on this?
I figured i'd do the caprylic acid moisturizer in the morning since it says it stays on 24 hours, the cocoa butter twice a day, and the RetinA before bed. Does that sound good?

King Nothing said:i'm using a very thin layer of retinA over all of my stretchmarks. I havn't had any problems sleeping or anything either. What about it keeps you from sleeping? Either I'm at too high a bodyfat right now (around 24% on my way DOWN) or I'm using too thin of a layer.

All the pro's have them, a young Arnold, Jay Cutler, Dexter, etc. They have them and the marks are huge....
The skin will eventually "get used" to the new muscle. I know this sounds weird but your skin cells replace itself once a year, sounds really crazy, but the stretch marks will go away with the new skin. The skin tights/loosens so... anyway, congrats on the new marks man.. your growing.
Burner said:Just wanted to bump the St. Ives Apricot scrub. I have tried three different lotions (Amlactin, and two different types of palmers) to help fade my stretch marks. So far after a month of use i can already see it smoothing out and fading them.
Pitbull954 said:Dr.D my wife has minor stretch marks after our first child, and now shes preg again, my question is after she has this child can you use the tretinoin gel while breast feeding? Or should she just wait till she is done with that?
FitnFirm said:Basically, once you have stretch marks they are there forever. If you grease yourself down like a pig at least 2 times a day with PURE cocoa butter, OR the now virgin coconut oil ( it looks like lard while cold) this will help feed your skin and slow down the process. The biggest mistake people make is not feeding their skin! when you grow too fast it will happen, your body only has so much elasticity.
By using this method I was able to have a 10 pound 6.5 ounce baby and get NO stretchmarks.
Its a very greasy feeling thoughbut I feel it is worth it!
DR.D said:Wow, that's a big kid for no stretch marks! I assume your referring to your abdomen. What about your breasts? If they are already that large, I just don't see how it can be avoided with conventional treatments like the topical fat creams.
FitnFirm said:... Men think lotions are for girls, its not so!!! I bet if a man did what I did in the early stages of lifting and stayed focused on it, he would be one happy dude![]()
