I saw this on espn today.. Sylvester Stallone is being inducted into the Boxing hall of fame along with Iron Mike and some other legends!

How can this be??

I think he's getting in because of the movie... ludacris! I know he trained and does train his ass off, and he can skip rope and do the speed bag but I dont think he was ever in any real fights.

He's being indicted for his contribution to the sport of boxing. It's in the same mold that announcers and commentators are also inducted.

I know he is not a boxer but when anyone thinks boxing the Rocky movies are always in the mind so I think it is desevered to a certain extent.

I think he needs an * next to his name! lol And to think, Pete Rose, the greatest hitter of all time, has been denied time and time again into Cooperstown, but Rocky makes boxing HOF?!

I guess that epic win over Drago helped him get elected LOL. I'm a Stallone fan but I don't know if this is a good idea for the sport of boxing. Boxing need to focus on reviving the heavyweight division before they elect movie stars into the HOF.

He merged the sport of boxing with the art of cinema. It turned out to be an incredible tribute to the sport. "Rocky" is iconic, you need look no further than to see who escorted, Pac, into the ring against Mosley. Commentators and boxing writers alike are also inducted into the hall of fame.

I agree. Whether he boxed or not, he inspired a LOT of kids to box, and who knows, maybe even some of the great boxers today were inspired by Rocky. I know it really means a lot to me now to watch those movies, where they make me proud as an American, watching an American underdog take down the big bad Russian (seriously ginormous), and I'm sure it did the same for a lot of people that watched it. He may not be a boxer, but he definitely deserves a spot in the hall of fame, because he is one of, if not the, most famous boxers, even if he is fictional. But I also agree an asterisk next to his name would be in order :D!

I like Stallone but this is BS just like having a statue of Rocky instead of a statue of Joe Frazier who was a actual boxing Champion from Philadelphia
