If you listen,
I am reporting good health and good back.
Thanks again for the exercise.

Want to pick your brains again.

I am considering buying one of these two machines,
which one.

Any other comments.

I agree, the one with the blue background is more suited to your situation. You can do a very very good reverse hyper on that one, for sure. The other one's cushion is too abrupt.

The old frame that I am lying on have no ajustments at all, other then hight of leg support,
another reason why I want the new machine.
---------------
Just do not rat on me to my coach, :)
he have given it to me free when I started talking about getting that new machine.

He is also thinking about getting the machine for his gym.
-----------------------
My coach is my chiropractor.

He have a gym in his basement, he trains himself his sons and few clients.

Some of them are real bodybuilders.

That sounds like a great place to train!!

Well, my back had been doing very well since I started doing rollouts a few months back. Have suffered a relapse in the old pain pattern in the last two weeks though. Not "bad" pain levels but in all the old places and enough to worry me. Got so good (I thought) at the rollouts that I tried the standing version which was too much strain on back then got a few days of very icy conditions with several slips, just enough to spasm it up and here we go again. Was actually looking at inversion boots and tables etc. online tonight and wondering how to get a cheap but effective solution in that direction.

Happy New Year.

I am happy to report that my back is holding strong,
thanks again for an excellent advice.

Why have you held that information from me for 30 years?
Just kidding.

Are you any good reading nutritional tests from Genova Diagnostics?

Or know someone who does.

They are spread thru posts on this thread, here:

Hello JanSz,

I am so glad to hear your back is holding strong! That is fantastic news! :)

Such back injuries are so painful and relapse so much, it is always a joy to hear of success stories, a joy that can only be understood by those who have undergone such injuries...

I'll try and have a look at those...

Cheers! :)

Any recommendations for someone with a broken back at l4-l5?
I work out 5 days a week and insure that my back is supported during all exercises.
I spoke to a sugeon who said the only fix is surgery but recommended I did not do anything because the majority of his patients would kill to be in the situation (pain and liveability) I am in AFTER surgery. His comment was dont do anything surgerywise until you legs start to become affected (which is not the case for me --- its just my back).
Thanks for any input.

What do you mean, broken back at l4-l5? Do you mean that both l4 and l5 vertebrae are fractured?

hey M8,

i had C6 and C7 repaired. The procedure required removing the bulging disc (it was creating havoc with the nerve going down my right arm), putting a cadaver bone between the vertebra and then screwing a titanium plate to 6 and 7 to maintain the space. My surgeon had done 163 necks before mine that year. It was the best thing that i could have done to increase the quality of my life. Make sure you question the surgeon. In my case i was going to sleep and giving some guy my neck and a knife....so a few questions are not out of line.

While your post is not completely out of context, it must be remembered that the C vertebrae are not in an actual weight bearing part of the spine, whereas the lumbar bear the most weight AND bending action of all vertebrae. Which changes things DRAMATICALLY when time comes to remove discs and such.

It's good that you are feeling better and clearly an indication of what goes for C vertebrae, although the l's are a completely different thing.

Certainly i note the distinction....suppose my point was more to the technology and medical experience of surgeons now....i spent 7 years with cortizone injections every three months....most in the neck, some into the shoulder....there was some relief, sure but not the same as just fixing it....i wish you the best because i know how difficult it is to contemplate any invasive procedure.

Damn that musta sucked big time. Are you just now getting back into training, now that things are better? I'm saying that because this is your second post...

yes it sucked....especially because i knew the date of the injury...a dairy close to us had a fire...i even knew what had happened to injure the disc....and Kaiser Dr said i had developed arithritis...overnight....even though the spasms down my arm and chest were unreal to watch....after putting up with it...losing 70% of my strength in my right arm...we switched medical plans....had to get a physical...new doc said it was Med School 101...bulging disc....still was reluctant to let 'em cut so hence the cortisone shots.....when i woke up in the recovery room it was great....have been working out for a year now....now 100% yet but it sure feels good.
