social groups(notification)

i was just wondering,is there a reason why we dont get notified of a post that has been made in the social groups forums..being that we get a notice everytime someone post up in a thread that were subbed. to.why doesnt it apply to the social group forum?

Can we revert back to the old post-view system in social group, where the most recent post appear at the top of the thread? Thanks
