Snags gets ginormous with lean clean off-season dream bulk

day #5 in the rolling plan...

flat BB bench (r/p)
standing BB shoulder press (r/p)
lying tricep extension (r/p to 28 reps)
D-grip cable pulldowns (r/p)
rack BB deads (8 + 10 on the drop)

felt pretty decent thruout -- in fact, pretty strong actually..
this, despite feeling like death last night as I was coming down with something, had a fever of 100.7 (and I run cold anyway, in 97s, so like anything over 98 is a fever for me) ... went to bed dreading waking up this morning; got up to piss 3x during the night, body was screaming at me, head was throbbing..
when I awoke, felt almost normal
whatever that was, glad it was only a blip on the radar
 
Speaking of sick. On the way home last night I had to pull over. Felt like barfing myself for some reason. Cold sweats with the Windows down doing 70....subsided after ten minutes of leaning against my truck trying not to puke lol.

There is definitely something going around. Friends and family have all been fighting it - fever, puking, etc. I've been on the verge the past week but seem to be slowly pulling away from it. Get better guys

depends on which way you want to go - really not that hard to make your own
or, you can buy pre-packaged mixes at the grocer
or, now they have a hamburger helper version I saw in the store, with rice included..that one would probably be easiest of all
I used Sun-Bird mix for this..was pretty pissed when I saw I was fresh out of bell peppers, and just went shopping yesterday :rant:

I toss the g8 in my mouf then drink some water. I like lemon in general so it's a treat. Much like if I were to have a Popsicle

right in the heart of downtown

our minor league ballpark is a block away - is one of the nicest minor league facilities in the nation

How many do you think you could legit get down in a sitting if not forcing yourself? I think about this all the time lately (8 days out :lol:)

I've eaten an entire box (12) pop tarts in 1 sitting before. What's that, only like 420? but I wasn't miserable after.

and - got to meet djbeanpole from our very own AM forum down there, he swung in to the store and we chatted for a good while
pretty cool dude; and he's kinda tall too
I was feeling pretty rough, this chick kept me out till all hours last night, didn't get much sleep..
surprised I looked this photogenic today

the diet is working some magic already, is quite interesting consuming all this protein..been awhile since I've approached this amount
training is going well, seem to be adding some size while tightening up and maintaining same weight..
that's what it's gonna take if I hope to get lean & grainy and still add some size concurrently, continual recomp - very fine line

1 lb ground turkey with whole wheat pasta and bell peppers, in a philly cheesesteak flavored mix
~1350cals for the whole pan, made 2 servings for me..about 1/2 my days fat allowance in these 2 meals, oh well

yep - have cut all wheat and was almost all gluten-free at times..
when I went to bulking this off-season tho, all plans of continuing that went by wayside
I eat a boatload of rice, and my share of potatoes (both sweet & red), but eating the larger cals I been eating, tough to go all out GF
 
You notice better recovery and training energy etc

awesome workout today, no time to post my exercises right now tho..was strong like oxen (yes multiple ox strength)
diet (and cardio) kicking in real nicely, is nice to see my shapeliness again :D meat/powder disappears like mad tho, sheesh..

so I knew it wouldn't take me long to start incorporating my own modifications to a greater extent within the DC protocol..just didn't think it would be so extensive, so soon LOL
kinda hard to explain what I am doing, but it is a bit of a shift, half DC half GVT I guess you would call it, shifting in & out of the basic parameters of each plan....why am I doing this? because I can :D that, and I needed a tad bit more volume added to the fray, but w/o ruining the idea & philosophies of DC bulking, in my goal of tightening things up and getting some grains in the muscle w/o reduction of cals
I like the Frankenstein-ness of what has developed -- plus, it soothes my need for something different continually, keeps me mentally refreshed
 
Upper/lower body superset
E.g. back squat 10x3
SS
Weighted pull ups 10x3

Wk 1 10x3
Wk 2 10x4
Wk 3 10x5
Wk 4 10x3 (increase weight by 10%)
Wk5 10x4
Wk 6 10x5 (moved more weight for more reps)

Then you train accessories such as if it was bench and deadlift day, accessory exercises are:

Face pulls, leg curls,hammer curls, flyes, DB reverse flyes, trap 3 raises, supine bridges etc.
 
That looks pretty brutal. The protocol I was following is for 10x10 (at 40x0 tempo) for 6 rotations through, then doing 10x6 (at 50x0 tempo) for 6 rotations through. I am not sure what the purpose of the 10x6 is though, except I am sure the load is heavier.

well I've done something like that before: the upper/lower ss splits, but not in the prescribed GVT 10x"X" rep format
soo many ways programs can be tweaked and modified..i enjoy continual modifications to my plans
