SL and Emulsifier Study... Casue for Concern?

study shows emulsifiers may cause gut inflammation, obesity, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colitis.

Considering SL is an emulsifier and many people are taking in several tablespoons daily to get the PA, should we be concerned about issues with prolonged use?

Well in my case this article is right - SL did give me gut inflammation and I was definitely fatter (maybe just holding lots of water) while on it. It’s just my experience but still

Interesting.....I might discontinue using Tr1umph after reading this.

Ok so the study is in mice, does not mean it would not correlate BUT :

Here we report that, in mice, relatively low concentrations of two commonly used emulsifiers, namely carboxymethylcellulose and polysorbate-80, induced low-grade inflammation and obesity/metabolic syndrome in wild-type hosts and promoted robust colitis in mice predisposed to this disorder

All we can say maybe about is those two above compounds possibly effecting the gut. I would be more worried about the sucraloses effect on the gut vs the SL.

Yeah, I'm not saying my results are conclusive or anything, just how I personally react to it - just not a fan.

I know, sorry sometimes my statements don't come out right. There is no doubt, whether it changes the gut biome or not, if you feel like chit on it there is no reason to suffer. I am the same way when it comes to food. There are plenty of "healthy" foods that make me feel like ass. So I don't care how great some super food is I am not taking something that makes me feel like crap. That's what DNP is for right? lol I kid,

I have two observations from my SL use. More strength, similar to creatine. Occasional bloating, but I can't nail down why. For a while the bloating seemed to be related to not working out afterwards. Lately I haven't noticed any bloating and also haven't been lifting much.

I just get a little uncomfortable watching this stuff glue itself to my shaker cup. I have to scrape it off if it's not cleaned immediately. It's also strange how it stick to a spoon and needs to be washed off.

Literally stopped taking SL after reading this. After two days, my diarrhea and stomach issues went away immediately.

Shyt, I just started taking Fern SL Granules about a month ago. Just seems to make me tired and I have less energy in the gym if I take it anywhere close to PWO. I think its affects are quite negligible, and apparently mostly negative for me. Probably safe to say I should be cutting this one out of my supplement routine..

Well, that was a fun month!

SL gave me a bloated type feeling. It's why I'm not crazy about it, it's one thing to add size but to be uncomfortable while doing so isn't fun
