SkRaw85 Training Log

What size did you get? Single or multiply? I think I’m a Large either way.

I went multiply, Large. I am right on the edge between sizes. I intend to pack on a few lbs in the coming months/years as I grow my raw bench. This one may get a little tight, we shall see! Regardless, this is a great new mental stimulus.

Oh man I cannot wait until you get it and try. I will order based on what you find.

Getting it smaller isn’t really usually a problem; it just becomes more gangster and won’t touch with lighter weights.

Crushing the come back man! Cool you found something else new to motivate you as well!

Can the new Widowmaker be here yet please?!

It’s powerlifting gear so it will probably take extra long to arrive, weeks lol. But I am very eager to hear what you have to say.

I think you are doing the right thing with the holds and maddog work to start getting your bones exposed to heavier weight. Good session man.

They shipped it a few hours after I placed order. It will be here Monday
I bet a full bench shirt will take a good while though

I’ve been digging around on the widowmaker. Seems like most 405 raw benchers are taking it to the low 600’s with it. I’m guessing that has to be with the multiply. It didn’t specify which they were using but I can’t imagine a single ply giving that much return.

You're gonna need a spotter for that eh?

Those are athletes already trained in geared lifting. I don’t think I’ll get anywhere near that for a while lol. I’m going to have a little play date session with it next Tuesday or weds (that’s the nice thing about conjugate training) to feel it out but not too crazy without a spotter.

I also intend to use both safety bars AND straps. Blaine Sumner trains single ply alone, but he had massive spotter tables fabricated.

Yeah those double safeties should keep you pretty safe, curious how lift off will be in that bad boy.

How long is your pause on those bench reps?
It's gonna take me at least three more weeks to catch you from my current 275-285 bench. Maybe four but I'll eat more this weekend and that should help.

One Mississippi pause. You got this in 3.5 weeks, easy!

Got tractor pins for my safety straps yesterday as well. I like the looks of this setup way better than factory.

This band is stout. I tried it on, sat with elbows and knees and tried to press chest through with force, I’m not sure 500 lbs will touch chest in this beast. @Hyde Wednesday we will test.

Side note, I had a sample pack of Steak Shake that I tried last night. God awful. I dumped it down the drain after two sips (I gave it a second chance and it failed). Think maybe they make this out of ground up pork bungholes

That widow maker looks SERIOUS!!!!

Oh, um, wow. Why. Is this (steak shake) a liver king thing?
