Its a silly and stupid pissing contest.

I have lost respect for all players involved.

They really need to focus on developing their business and products and stop the pissing contest.

They should know my dick is bigger then all of theirs anyway.
 
Definitely a ridiculous argument, but every time I come across one Bill does seem to be in the right. That said, I don't think I would buy from either of them after that nonsense.

Our web guy mentioned that when we send out Mass e-mails to our subscriber list, it slows the board down for awhile.

And, we had one for the new issue of the mag, and one is going for the return of SesaThin/release of SesaLean, as well.

If that's because a lot of people hit the board in a short time period, there isn't much you can do about it except upgrade the system you're using or its bandwidth. Your web guy should know where the bottlenecks are. (If the problem is bandwidth and getting some fixed files moved someplace with better connectivity will help, let me know. I have a colo box with lots of spare bandwidth available.)
 
Since I made this thread to complain (:o sorry) I figure I may as well compliment you guys on the new site look and improved function :thumbsup: !

I had him look into more bandwidth, but we had plenty. Though, that was before he noticed the slowdown with the mass-mailing.

I think it may actually be the mailer itself using resources as opposed to a huge increase in hits.
 
Probably the problem, or its the database. Generally the DB's in message boards are of **** quality and they chew up memory like crazy. I've had to upgrade servers twice mainly because of the DB.

There were two periods yesterday when I couldn't get to this website because the database was being rebuilt (according to the error message).
