SERIOUS LIFTERS ONLY /// USPlabs MaxREPS+NO3 Product Reviewers! FREE BOTTLES INSIDE>

Hmmm, I use more than that and still think it tastes wonderful.

That's, what, 16oz? I've been using probably half that.

Yeah.

Funny how it's so subjective.

Because I take one of the USP shakers and fill it with some ice, but then top it off with water to the brim and it goes up to 25 oz., so I get probably 20 after the ice and I love the taste.

What are you currently training for?
Shredding down for the summer beach season while maintaining my strength and intensity for my training sessions.

What is your current 10 rep max deadlift?
305lbs

What is your current 10 rep max bench press?
195lbs

What is your current 10 rep max squat?
255lbs

Would you be willing to get a logo tattoo if we send you a free bottle? :-)
It's possible :cool2:

I still need to post a legit review, but I just have to make a comment on something first. I really want to emphasize how happy I am with USP's neglect of artificial coloring of their supplements. I love that none of them have a sickening neon coloring that makes me feel like my insides are getting poisoned and rotting from the inside out.
The flavoring is still great (blue raspberry Modern Pre+ is freaking phenomenal) and the physical benefits are at the very least on par with the other top contenders of the supplement industry. Please keep doing what you're doing, USP. I couldn't give less of a **** that my shakers don't look like they're filled with rainbows and butterflies.

Modern Pre, MAX Reps, Modern BCAA all super light and settle very easy on the stomach.

Agreed. Even the creatine, which I'm saving for a later date, was very light but pleasantly flavored when I tried it. Again, no insane radioactive coloring.

Was gonna mention the same thing in my review. That draws me to a company when they ditch the dyes. And after working at a popcorn factory, it's kinda unsettling to think about ingesting stuff that takes a few days to wash off your hands.

Also completely failed to mention that, but agree.

Huge perk.

I don't need to "taste purple" to enjoy something. lol

I tend to notice my digestion and stomach feels much better with far less dyes and sweeteners

Let's alone some products make my tongue turn colors from the dyes in the product

Trying it now. I won't lie. I was really worried about the limeaid flavor being too tart and gross. I'm not a big watermelon guy either but these two together are amazing. Well done, guys. Will report back after workout.

I agree.

We started the Trend with ModernBCAAs along time ago. Hopefully more follow.

I agree with the no coloring thing that everyone has been mentioning so far. While color does affect taste (yes there have been research on it), some people just don't want it

Second log
I have used max reps with every work out last week. I am able to maximize my pumps. I still feel I need more experience with this product to reap its maximum effects. I am not used to how quickly my pumps are building on this product. A by product has resulted in me coming up missing out on reps. My rep counts a rising as my set goes on and I adjust to the pump. I am very excited for this weeks rotation to see if I can crank out more reps and larger pumps.

I used pyramid sets last week, not only did my reps go up in all of my drop sets, but I also found myself doing less and lower drops. I also added a few sets to foundation movements such as bench, curl, press, and squat.

The taste and mix ability gets a 11/10 even after a weeks use.

Down fall, I have had to add products to maintain intensity and focus.

Pwo ingredients are hard to make unflavored due to a lot of them having a bitter or battery acid taste

I'm well aware. I have own methods. That said, I'm afraid I'm one of the few who would choose to do it this way (given the option) so much that there wouldn't be enough of a market for it. I figured it couldn't hurt to ask, though.

I have no interest in unflavored products, personally lol.

MAKE THEM ALL DELICIOUS!!!

I took my first dose of Max Reps today, I will say I was not thrilled with the flavor (Watermelon Lemonade) to tart for my taste, if you like Sour Patch Kids you should love this. I will say I sleep like crap last night and did not feel well this morning so my workout was lack luster, with that being sad somehow I finished my one hour workout in about 53 minutes, so there is defiantly something there! Tomorrow I will give it another shoot, hopefully sleep is better and I will add a little more water to the PWO.

Just a side note I got some Modern Creatine with my Max Reps which I drank after my workout, I love the Lemon-Lime flavor, cool and refreshing !!

Will use the rest of the week and write a review

How much water you nerd? 2oz, 4oz, a gallon..? I think that matters before you judge if a flavor is too tart

About 10oz I will try 16 tomorrow. Flavor is a very individual thing, so just because I do not care for it does not mean the next person won't Love It !!

What type of workout you do that's timed as well? Cross fit? Track?

I have been doing this a long time all of my lifting programs last about 1 hour.

I got my pkg waiting for me at my job wondering if I should use it for weights or when I hit the track to jog ,sprints and bodyweight workouts

i feel like cit malate and a pump would be counteractive for cardio

Abstract
During high-intensity exercise, the concentration of ammonia is augmented in skeletal muscle. Ammonia activates phosphofructokinase and prevents oxidation of pyruvate to acetyl CoA, thus leading to exhaustion. Citrulline is an amino acid component of the urea cycle in the liver, along with ornithine and arginine. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of citrulline supplementation on fatigue and performance during high-intensity exercise. We constructed a swimming exercise protocol, in which mice were subjected to exhaustive swimming with a load of 5% body weight, and measured the time until exhaustion, the blood levels of lactate and ammonia, and the glycogen content of the gastrocnemius and biceps femoris muscles. Citrulline supplementation significantly increased the swimming time until exhaustion. Exercise-induced blood ammonia elevation was repressed by citrulline supplementation, and exercise-induced blood lactate increment in the citrulline-supplemented group was significantly lower than that in the non-supplemented group. Citrulline supplementation may facilitate the detoxification of ammonia via the urea cycle and inhibit additional glycolysis. Our findings suggest that citrulline supplementation may be useful for improving the exercise performance of athletes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Previous studies have shown an antiasthenic effect of citrulline/malate (CM) but the mechanism of action at the muscular level remains unknown.
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the effects of CM supplementation on muscle energetics.
METHODS:
Eighteen men complaining of fatigue but with no documented disease were included in the study. A rest-exercise (finger flexions)-recovery protocol was performed twice before (D-7 and D0), three times during (D3, D8, D15), and once after (D22) 15 days of oral supplementation with 6 g/day CM. Metabolism of the flexor digitorum superficialis was analysed by (31)P magnetic resonance spectroscopy at 4.7 T.
RESULTS:
Metabolic variables measured twice before CM ingestion showed no differences, indicating good reproducibility of measurements and no learning effect from repeating the exercise protocol. CM ingestion resulted in a significant reduction in the sensation of fatigue, a 34% increase in the rate of oxidative ATP production during exercise, and a 20% increase in the rate of phosphocreatine recovery after exercise, indicating a larger contribution of oxidative ATP synthesis to energy production. Considering subjects individually and variables characterising aerobic function, extrema were measured after either eight or 15 days of treatment, indicating chronological heterogeneity of treatment induced changes. One way analysis of variance confirmed improved aerobic function, which may be the result of an enhanced malate supply activating ATP production from the tricarboxylic acid cycle through anaplerotic reactions.
CONCLUSION:
The changes in muscle metabolism produced by CM treatment indicate that CM may promote aerobic energy production.

Endurance enhancing properties of citrulline malate
Filed under: cycling, endurance, ergogenics, exercise — Leave a comment October 12, 2011
Abstract
Exhaustive exercise induces disturbances in metabolic homeostasis which can result in amino acid catabolism and limited L-arginine availability. Oral L-citrulline supplementation raises plasma L-arginine concentration and augments NO-dependent signalling. Our aim was to evaluate the effects of diet supplementation with L-citrulline-malate prior to intense exercise on the metabolic handle of plasma amino acids and on the products of metabolism of arginine as creatinine, urea and nitrite and the possible effects on the hormonal levels. Seventeen voluntary male pre-professional cyclists were randomly assigned to one of two groups: control or supplemented (6 g L-citrulline-malate 2 h prior exercise) and participated in a 137-km cycling stage. Blood samples were taken in basal conditions, 15 min after the race and 3 h post race (recovery). Most essential amino acids significantly decreased their plasma concentration as a result of exercise; however, most non-essential amino acids tended to significantly increase their concentration. Citrulline-malate ingestion significantly increased the plasma concentration of citrulline, arginine, ornithine, urea, creatinine and nitrite (p < 0.05) and significantly decreased the isoleucine concentration from basal measures to after exercise (p < 0.05). Insulin levels significantly increased after exercise in both groups (p < 0.05) returning to basal values at recovery. Growth hormone increased after exercise in both groups, although the increase was higher in the citrulline-malate supplemented group (p < 0.05). L-citrulline-malate supplementation can enhance the use of amino acids, especially the branched chain amino acids during exercise and also enhance the production of arginine-derived metabolites such as nitrite, creatinine, ornithine and urea.

i know it can help delay the onset of multiple things, but whenever I personally used it it really felt negligible. Plus getting a bigger pump while pushing a prowler just sounds horrible

In my opinion to get a "pump" you have to exercise a certain way to achieve a pump. Never gotten a pump before doing low rep heavy weight or boxing or track as example

I can get a pump doing low rep sets. Activating the muscle properly will illicit a pump. Does not take a lot of reps to feel the muscle working or getting a good pump. to some maybe, to some not always the case. All bodies respond differently

So today, I was a wee bit hungry and my diet was off when I worked out.

Taste:
I've already mentioned, but I hate watermelon flavored stuff. This was good. It wasn't a jolly rancher watermelon. It wasn't a bitter suck on a lime-half flavor. It was a smooth lime start with a bit of tartness, because lime, to more of an easy Sprite taste and then a nice watermelon ending. Very good. I liked it a lot.

Pump: Today was Chest and Tris and my triceps hurt. I did some close grip bench and they hurt pretty bad. Its been about 6 hours and my chest is still pumped. I'm gonna try this with Modern Pre and Modern Creatine in the upcoming future for flavor combos.

More reps: Today I was able to do about the same as I have been. I was set back a bit by injuries, school, work, and lack of training. But, generally all carbed up and well fed was what I was able to do today. Not sure if its placebo affect, so I will report back over the next few days to see how it goes.

Definitely my new go-to non stim PWO. I can handle this taste 100000x more over HV, and I don't even need to stack Hydro3 because it already has a nice dose of nitrates. Very happy to be chosen and very excited about the hook-up [I've yet to run Ultimate-T so am looking forward to that, too]

obviously I get a "pump" from working out but certain rep range(s) will make the pump more profound.

What do you as example and how much rest in between

All my sets are supersets with about 2 minutes between sets, but I do not watch the clock. I change the weights for my next set, catch my breath and go when I feel ready. I think the Max Reps help Get Me Ready quicker!

Hokie you run ....
Wait... I thought you were just a meathead :)

OMG, Hell no. I was a basketball player prior to even picking up a weight @ 190lbs. In 2007, I moved to an area where people didn't paly basketball so I picked up iron and it turned into powerlifting by accident. I'm 6'5", how in the hell do you think I was just a meathead? j/k. Seriously, no I'm trying to get back to playing basketball. I hate running but I'll play basketball from dusk until dawn. That's sprinting.

No, I can't run up and down the court like I used to but since picking up a job where I'm forced to move around has allowed me the ability to get in shape. I'm in the process of moving back home where basketball courts I played at, are still in existence. There are several. We had at-least 6 we traveled to play on a daily basis. You had to know what court to be at and time to get runs in.

No I will never be at my playing weight, currently {300+} nor do I wish to be. I'm chipping away at bdft daily. I'm what most hate, PowerBuilder. I do a combination of Bodybuilding, Powerlifting and Calisthenics. I just haven't posted a pic until I'm where I feel comfortable showing what I've achieved. After tons of research, trial and error, I've finally got progress. Once I'm moved, it's on. Trust me I know my exact weight but I won't disclose it here. I don't look like what most would believe at the weight I currently hold either.

No' I'm not just a meathead.

Sarcasm :)

But back on track used max reps for a hyperteophy based back shoulders and arms workout today

Threw in a lot of giant and supersets the pump nasty just off
My first exercise of rest pause on a single arm cable low row

My arms blew up when doing a giant set of tricep press downs , ez bar curls, overhead tricep extension and finished with cable hammer curls in a circuit was brutal

Basketball is the best cardio.

Sadly I only get to play in Sundays now, so I've had to add track cardio back into my lifting sessions.

But I agree, I'll ball til my feet blister or my calves lock up.
