I've been wanting to incorporate more seeds into my diet (e.g. hemp, flax, chia, etc.) and I was wondering how they should be consumed. Is there even a particular way they should be consumed (i.e. ground or whole)?
It's even been claimed that consuming seeds whole is bad for your digestive system. I've even heard they can become "stuck to the walls of your colon". People can say some pretty absurd things at times. That's probably why I don't take nutrition advice of any sort from people who either don't have a degree or don't have the research to back up their claims.
What do you all think? Should I be grinding up my seeds prior to eating them?
