Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Oh, and college sucks balls. Im applying to 2 different agencies now. If those don't work out, I'll stick with college. I can't stand being in a classroom. Life transitions can suck it.

That's why I went into the trades 1) I'm not that smart 2) I hate school but I still had apprenticeship school

I feel ya. All I learned the last 10 years was LE and boat driving so a career change is going to have to involve college for me. Except, I'm in no mood to be doing group biology projects with stoners and 18 year old girls.

Unless the gigs I apply for work out for me...that'd be cool

I once studied to be an English teacher. About halfway through the semester, I thought: how tf am I supposed to spend the next 35yrs in a classroom when I can barely bring myself to come fir two months?

At least you won't have the full brunt of the loans haha.

I've been thinking about going to school and teaching.

I never had a problem in school, I just get bored easily if the subject matter isn't complex enough.

Same here. The boredom and I wasn't mature enough to be out on my own at traditional student age.

School is whatever, didn't get much out of high school till senior year. College was a fun ride and worth it for sure.

Ended up catching a cold. Worked up to 525 conventional off of blocks. Goal was 3x3 with both stances. Pulled a single rep and called it quits. It moved well but it drained any energy I had. I'll try again tomorrow.

Hope you get better fast!

Ephedrine is my "I have to train it meet prep but I have a cold" remedy

Usually when it's bad enough that adding ephedrine to the normal preWO isn't enough, nothing can really be done even if you take more stims. That's when I pack it in.

I'm just gonna call this week a deload. Underfed and underslept all week. I'll begin training again next week. That'll give me 3 training weeks then a deload when I have family in town. Then 4 training weeks and a deload week for the meet.

You able to access the book bud? It says you can on my end. Idk how to use this iPhone with gmail lol. I'll just get the app if you can't and fix it in there.

Thoughts?

W2-95%x1x2 overload 100%-102.5%x1x2
W1/meet week deload

I'd just time the weeks so last heavy pull is 2 weeks out, squat 9-11 days out, and bench 6-8 days out.

Finally got some calories back in me. Lifted at the Air Force gym that's 2 minutes from my house. People can make fun of powerlifter a for doing weird shît, but at least I don't need gloves with built in wrist support/a weight belt left on the entire time/and an entire jug of water, just to do curls for an hour straight.

That being said, I bro'd it out.

Cold is gone. It turned into a sinus infection now lol **** me

I'm feeling a sinus infection coming on myself. 'Tis the season.

Just starting hockering up stuff this morning and i can feel it draining down the back of my throat. Drinking a bunch of emergen-c/airbourne and hoping it keeps it from coming on full strength.

That, a ton of sudafed, and a cool mist humidifier

Fixing my humidifier is actually on my to do list for tonight (at least attempting to). The gf and i had two of the damn things break within a week. Gonna try to fix one before i buy another one.

Probiotics
Oil of oregano
Colloidal silver

It's common to get upper respiratory infections when training really hard. Very common in marathon runners. Could mean you need to manage fatigue a touch better guys. Just my opinion.

I have two kids in the house that bring some nasty shît home from daycare and school lol My cold came from either a sick toddler coughing directly in my mouth, or a baby sticking it's sick drooly fingers in my mouth haha

Never heard of oil of oregano. Will look it up.

Although i agree with you, I don't think that's what mine is from either. Been seeing a lot of "emergent" flu, uri, bronchitis stuff in the ER and probably just picked somethin up there.
