Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Probiotics
Oil of oregano
Colloidal silver

It's common to get upper respiratory infections when training really hard. Very common in marathon runners. Could mean you need to manage fatigue a touch better guys. Just my opinion.

I agree on the fatigue management part (for me at least). Fatigue is an issue, but persistent allergies from a very warm winter have hit me hard. Elephant in the room, fellas: most of us eat pretty rough and without enough produce. If we ate better, we'd feel better, but fat and salt are delicious.

I've been working hard on the later part myself. I'm eating at least 2 servings of fruit and 4 of veggies a day. On a good day you can double that.

Yeah, that's miles ahead of me right now. I'm hitting fiber requirements, but nowhere near where my produce intake should be.

Same here. I was just thinking about it last night actually. I had 1 piece of grapefruit and a serving of peas yesterday. Pretty piss poor.

Usually 1 fruit and 2-3sv veggies with OT+greens 2x/day. Been running hard and managing more frequency at a slight deficit since trying to get ready for this meet.

You can take supplements or you can eat food, but I'm gonna eat my food if I can. It usually works better.

Afrin, Advil Sinus, Bronkaid, Saline Wash, Cool Mist, and bathroom steam....the pressure has finally lifted. Now its just tinnitus and muffled sounds. But....I can squat tomorrow at least.Invalid Link Removed

Good news man. The advil is definitely the game changer imo. I felt significantly better when i added that in. And it's funny that you mentioned tinnitus as i had it once in my right ear this morning.

Lol that has to be annoying

Half hour workout. I spent this week not worrying about training and for the most part, diet. The next 2 months will stress me out enough.

Will post some training ideas later tonight or this weekend.

Have a good Friday.

No squatting after pulling. That's a no-no. Maybe CAT squat before sumo pulls? Or just stick with what I did.

Shut deadlifts down there. No supplemental block pulls or anything. I was pretty shaky pulling.

Being sick and then the deload put me down to 218 this morning. Lightest (not post-water-cut) I've been in over 6 months. I even had a few days of binge eating. At least I don't need to diet through the meet prep. I can afford to gain some weight and eat to be strong now. I'll be sure to stay below 228. That's my comfort cut.

I woke up 227.0 other day having been 229.6 day prior and was pretty weak in the gym, so a whole pizza drenched in olive oil plus whatever I could get down got me straightened out. 2 days later post bloat I was 228.8.

Losing too fast is never a good thing for training.

Having a handoff helped so god damn fûcking much. Shut my 225 sets down a set or two early. I felt good and wanted to leave that way.

Good call - this is how you stay healthy and make progress. Feeback-wise, noticed as you fatigued you started to lower your chest as bar approached instead of staying heels down chest up, fwiw.

Thanks dude. I think more more proud that I was able to close-grip bench today, though lol

So is close grip worse than comp for you d/t your shoulders?

It's a lot better for my rotator cuff, which is the usual issue post-squat. Sometimes the ROM can bug my AC joint or bicep tendons but today felt good. With loosing whatever pressing strength I did have, it felt good to press that weight with a fat bar, considering I struggled to do that weight fluently with a comp bar the past few weeks.

Oh okay I gotcha. By no means was i trying to take anything away from ya. I didn't even look at the weight, I just thought it was surprising that comp feels better than cg and was wondering why.

Nah I didn't even think that at all. Usually I just can't press well after squats but fat bar and close grip allowed that

As cool as the Arnold looks......that crowd has to fûcking suck.

Couldn't agree more. I'm honestly not sure if i could handle being packed in there like that.

Expo was busy as **** yesterday had to park 2 miles out and walk and the lines were ridiculous for some stuff. Did see a lot of lifter there and people I follow on fb

A chick that trains at my gym on occasion with one of the guys. Pretty badass that Arnold took a selfie of her lol

We had bfast yesterday w BD at the hotel; we were in pjs and she was telling us she had to get gussied up because of all the potential future husbands walking around our hotel

She was pretty cool and didn't hesitate to congratulate us, which impressed me. I know she didn't have the day she was expecting. Nice girl!
