Sean's Powerlifting Journey

#SwimTrainingSystems...coming soon

Yeah I suppose the definition of all of those terms is pretty crucial isn't it? What I took for power and they did: NOT the same

Welp, I have competition again, except this time, it'll actually be at the same meet. He just hit 675 last week and will be going again me in April.

Find his preworkout beforehand and drop some craze so he pops dirty like Norris orrrr.... Drop some castor oil in there.. He won't have time to compete if he's

The whole thing I find amusing with Jesse is he works for BB.com during the time of the original Craze scandal, there's no way he would not. Great excuse...

Beating a piss test where you're not monitored is so easy. Buy freeze dried urine and use that instead. They can't follow you into the stall or do a strip search.

Told myself a minimum of 3 sets, max of 4. I hit a decent groove at set 3 so I kept going.

Volume PR's all around.

Anyone see an issue with my assistance on this day of the week? I'm usually too toasted to do anything worthwhile.

Anything you can do is more worthwhile than doing nothing.

I also usually play it by ear a little bit from day to day. Like yesterday, I had planned 3-4 sets of GMs after squats but was toast after the second set so I moved on.

Also, on that day I typically plan to do lunges or BSS but my legs were blown up before I even got there so I nixed them.

Generally, as long as you are working the muscles hard every time you work them you should be good. That's why reps/sets have to be more fluid (like you did with your squats), some days you can do more and some days you can't.

I'm ok. Just starting to hit the gym again after surgery. Dr said no more PLing.... But we'll see about that. In the meantime just gotta get less fat.
Still breaking records??

Time to see a new doctor. Wrivest

Let me rephrase. He told me that with the type of hernia I had, that the chance of the other side getting one was very high, and by doing PLing, it was almost a definite. His exact words were "I can't tell ya what to do, just what will get you back in this position"
As for right now, I've turned myself into a fat blob of goo anyway, so I really just need to get back into some type of decent shape before I worry about that anyway.

Wasn't my day for benching. Tired. Heavy. Still got mildly decent work in.

I'm going to start getting into wraps my next mesocycle to get acquainted with heavy weight again. 82.5/85/87.5% of 710 for I'm not sure how many reps or sets.

Hey in my opinion any day you can go in and get full ROM work like that in without pain is a great day for you - that's how you're gonna get your bench back! Comeback train is moving strong!!

Easy easy. I need to catch up with logs. Stuck in this stupid ****ing class all week and going to the gym at 9pm.

Cliff notes: people lifted some stuff, little PRs here and there, Lou didn't get hurt, and Herder lifted more than everyone else

Hehehe

We all suck :(

I did my CAT bench session last night.

It wasn't CAT at all. I even missed a rep and laid it on my chest like a punk bîtch. No pain. It just stopped moving. Wtf? It was 205lbs. Since I've had crap luck with specialty bars this week, I'm going to give a straight bar an attempt. If I can't get this going in a consistent positive direction, I'll be taking another token bench.

Grinderrrr I probably should have stopped at 4 sets but it was feeling fairly good and I feel like Oprah's at my gym handing out volume PR's to me these past few months.

So, no more than 3 rep sets with hook grip. Broke a few blood vessels under my thumb nail and it took a bit to stop bleeding. Boohoo

Advice wanted:

Next week is a deload. Then 3 more weeks of a strength block, deload. Then 3/1/3/1 peak.

I contemplated wraps this next 3 weeks but I feel like I'm making strides with my wrap less squat.

Do I quit while I'm ahead and shift to wraps that early to get more work in them and better transition to reps in the 600's?

Or, do I take advantage of another 3 weeks of wrapless gains, and make the 80-100lb working load weight jump into wraps to start the peak?

Or, maybe there's another option that I'm missing. The last 3 meets, I've wrapped up 10 weeks out.

I still intend on using a secondary squat day, wrapless, either way I go.

Depends on how comfortable you feel in the wraps.

If you don't think it will take long to get the technique down, then ride the wrapless work.

But if you think it will take some time to get back to being comfortable with a wrapped squat, then you're probably better off getting into them now.

How successful have the squat peaks for your previous 3 meets been? I'd base my decision on that. Don't go changing something if it's worked well imo.

Well said. Maybe I'll do a week wrapless after the deload, then throw wraps on for a final set the week after and see where my technique is at

Thanks for the input gents

Hmm. I guess i'll just defer to jim's post then. Also consider how far out you want to feel the heavier weights on your back. It's probably less of an issue for you considering you have so much more wrapped experience than i do.

No 10/20/L this go around?

Nah. Going to stick with Block.

Squatting in wraps in the meet, get in the wraps asap. You've been out of them since October? You've served your no wrap time, you've expanded your foundation, it's time to hone in, prep the CNS, find the feel, and ramp up slowly. Honestly I was going to deload in wraps this week but I fell off plan.
