Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Ok, I guess I just don't understand the mechanics behind why it's necessary to have two different soles. They fit perfect man!

I assume like boxers using bigger gloves while sparring. It'll reduce the instance of stress fractures and overuse injuries.

^Yup. You'll be in them longer when training obviously so having something softer with an arch will be a bit healthier. I couldn't wear them because I'm flat footed and they didn't agree with my feet.

Glad they for you bud. Now go squat!

Makes sense.

Bringing back memories of the 16oz warlocks we sparred in. Those things will wear you down fast.

Threw the Oly shoes on to save the hips a tad. Lunges went well. My hamstrings are already cramping from the dumbell SLDL. Haven't had a stretch like that in them for a while.

Killer workout - got the Inzer Hardcore yesterday! Hoping to try it out before too long. God help me getting into it lol

Can't believe that thing showed up 2 days after I sent you the money (at like 11pm lol). Appreciate it a lot big guy

If you're going to start using gear even quasi regularly, get slippers. They make it so much easier to get into the equipment.

Yeah, I will next time I make an order from somewhere. Sounds like this is gonna be a nightmare to get in/out of. But I doubt it will even get used once/month, so hopefully I won't suffer w/out them for too long. Should be a learning experience.

Deadlift suits tend to be easier since you don't want the same level of tightness on the equipment as a squat suit. Too much makes it difficult to get to the bar and maintain position.

Oh, my hips feel incredible after the back to back unilateral work on Thursday. Nothing feels impinged or overly tight. Definetly doing both of those together for a bit, even if it's bodyweight.

That's awesome. Uni leg work is tits

Probably going to go back to the Cube after this. I'll do my own thing in terms of rep/% most likely. May take a bit from Brian Carroll's meet template and try to hit second attempts in the final 3 week block.

Triple bodyweight squat this meet!

Sean, what size hammy band you get and what did you measure? I measured the area I want to cover at 22-23inches

I got an XL (18"). Just ordered a second one so I can rock it on both legs. I did wear it at my groin from when I pulled it but might push it down a bit now that it's better. I can measure quad size tomorrow for ya for comparison.

Thanks man, and don't worry about it. You are bigger with larger quads so I was leaning towards L, but just wanted to check. You and Bell wear same size man.

Like a dummy I forgot the size if the one I tried today. Pretty sure it was large.

Ya saw that so I plan to lift then come watch the second day. Honestly that might be better too haha

That's the idea anyway. Didn't wanna sign up yet because of the wife/girls. Just hope it doesn't get full up

They're at 50-60 now and they'll shut it down at 150. I read on Facebook that you'll be good to sign up until September. That still gives you some time to make plans.

Where's this meet at?

Tried the Hardcore suit on today...or tried to anyway lmao. I was weighing like 207 I believe. Tried to step into it, no trashbags or slippers. Fought for 10 min or more (after skinning 4 fingers pretty good) before giving up with about 4 in to go probably - it just wasn't happening. Then watched a vid on youtube of a guy w/ the same suit do it the right way.

Grocery bags. Inside out, work it up then roll it up. Took him 5 min explaining it fairly slowly. So I'm just gonna order some slippers & try it the way he did w/ slippers instead of bags.

Meet is in the Boston area.

I wore mechanic gloves, coated my thighs in baby powder or ballsack powder, and had suit slippers (grocery bags can work instead like mentioned) I weighed 212-215, and got it on within 10-15 min by myself. Just takes practice.

I raised the bar on the smith machine about head height, put a strap on one of the bar ends, and hung and shimmied. Maybe that can work for you? If you have people to help, you can have two people each grab a strap and yank up while you squat down. Once it's over your hips, the straps are easy.

You'll get it eventually dude. I gave up the first time trying also.

I roll the sides over a bar and start dropping in slowly. Constantly shifting your hips back and forth and kicking back helps.

I was literally just trying it on for my own curiosity & my gf's amusement lol - couldn't use it at the house or anything, just messing around.

Do you wear gym shorts under it? I was in my boxer briefs & can't imagine having shorts on under that. No way at my gym could I walk onto the floor in undies to try to hang into it is why I ask.

I think once I have slippers I'll be able to slide it up my thighs inside out then roll it up like the guy in the vid did, in the locker room, when I get into it to try it at some point.
