I like chains better than bands anyways.
I gotta say, my hips feel great. Conventional may be sticking around for good.....until I change my mind
I like chains for heavy reps, because they don't give you the recoil feel bands do, just a smooth slow added weight to grind against feel. ("grind against" I love dirty deadlift talk) Bands are gooder for speeds for me. Yeaaaaah, there ya go, now yer talkin' This is the only deadlift. The other pull, is a sumo lift. ;-) Where's my man Toro???
I say deadlift conventional and stick to plates and some mild deficits. There is something to be said for sticking the the movement and not doing too so variants that you suck at doing it the right way. That's just my $.02 though. Definitely get up to 220 but I would say stay lean and don't stress about your weight. Try to make clean gains but the most strength as you can. You have many years of comp ahead of you and should just develop your strength Instead if worrying about cutting other than a few pounds for a comp of you're over 220.
Conventional pulling FTW. I may one day venture to Sumos, but I keep progressing on conventional so I've stuck with it for now. Deficits, snatch grip variations, and paused deadlifts have been my staples the last 12 weeks (and some band work). inb4your275.
My 220 decision was made on my meet week. 198 isn't me. Screw that.
Why not just hold the bar while on the scale?Bro-Math 101 Stack **** up on a scale until it's at your pull height where the bar is at in your hands. Add up that weight. Attatch bands and subtract the scale weight from that weight. Minibands=52lbs Light bands (pictured)=102lbs Helped another guy figure out band tension for himself using the SSB and average bands. A whopping 242lbs for his height in the hole.
Why not just hold the bar while on the scale?
It's a pretty common phrase around these parts.Just don't ask someone "Hey do you mind giving me a jack while I'm hanging upside down?"

I thought you were in the area where you ask your cousins that?

sets by reps, would a logical flow of listing workouts...lol Nice benching, I'm just sitting here at 202 deloading. Any next meet planned?
By far my best benching session in a long time..possibly forever. I wish I took video. Legs locked in and pushing hard. My right delt was buggin me so it made me focus on keeping my shoulders packed. The 1" pause helped me with bar path. I didn't feel as prone to push it towards my face.
CGs looking solid too big man...nice work.
How many days out are you? Going for 181 still?
Possibly March in Rhode Island. We'll see.
lol from 202, you want me to die? Sunday I compete.

Nice work Sean. Bench is coming along well. RepsxSets is the way to go. Peer pressure got to you![]()

Let's just universally do sets x weight x reps so no one is confused.
