You should be a powerlifter. Bodybuilding show one day, full power the next

I've been playing with the idea of getting on the platform to compete, it's just that barbell bench ****s my shoulder nearly every time..


Apparently you just go and do bunch of curls and push downs

I like to add gpp work /conditioning so it's not a complete waste of time

Leg curls and leg press. They're the only way to build up legs properly. Who needs to squat when you can just load up the leg press machine with plates and look bad ass?

Yeah, my leg sessions are torture.

Lol I almost puked ending a 2 hour back session with deads today.

I've heard of it, but don't know anything about the place.

Gotcha. Just saw it surfin the net. I think my meet is at some sports center in Everett. May drive by and check it out.

God that's beautiful. That's it. We have a guy that came to our gym from there. Said its incredible but he didnt like the price.

I though about going there. I work 2 days on 2 days off, so $25 fits me better if I'm only going less than half the month. Plus, I hate 93 in rush hour.

Edit: Just saw that they charge military $25/month. Damn... Billerica vs Everett

Oh it is! I just feel that the SSB is more beastly.

Ace-I have a 65lb log. Ive used it once. Maybe I should use it more.

Log incline presses in a power rack. You're welcome.

Just not in front of the resident strongman, Big John, who cleans hundreds of pounds with it and then sits down and presses it, no power rack.

Lol. Just tell him Mike Jenkins does 'em, so there's no shame in your game. Jenkins will log press 500lbs this year, if he hasn't already.
 
<----may need to ask for a specialty bar from Santa. I have none.

Hell ya. I'm going to space a day between Squats and OHP for the purpose of adding a vertical back movement on my squat day in order to hit it 3x a week.
 
These Rheband briefs are sweet. Warm as hell and my hips feel great (along with having my issues properly identified and mashed and mobilized)

I should have just scored some rescue swimmer briefs instead as they're the same ****ing thing. Either way, I like em.

Goal was 365x5 but 315 felt heavy today. The pauses at 225 were awesome. Took everything in my power to stay upright.

I feel like those box squats are going to carry over big to my deadlift. Plan is to give my hips a break and pull my 5x5 conventional, and wide stance SSB box squat to supplement it
 
I had some bench critique today as well.

My elbow tuck is horrible I guess. They tuck so far in that they don't stay under my forearms.

I like how mark bell recently talked about it as like a punch as far as the straightness in the arms. I think I over tuck too.
 
Nice pr dude. But yea I've been told I tucked too much and it let the bar move away from me(resulting in less force being pushed to the bar) so I started flaring my elbows more and got "under the bar" more .. Numbers shot up, But now people telling me I flare em too much lol still figuring things out but i can say that from my experience, tucking too much took away a lot of power from my presses.
 
Front squats kicked my ass on Tuesday...but in on thread where you front squat my back squat. :D

They looked solid to me in the vid. :thumbsup:

Ive also discovered something good for my front squats. Before, when I held the bar, it was never fully tight, thus leaving me with a loose back. My biggest issue is that I my left clavicle was broken when I was 15, and it grew back in place crooked and sticking out all ****ed up, and that's right where the bar rests. Being able to generate some torque on the bar helped keep my elbows up and back tight.

Now I'm wondering if that ****ed up clavicle effects my bench. Nahhhhh I just don't know how to bench.

My elbows don't tuck in far enough when I bench. In fact I can only be tucked in good when my mom does it unfortunately

I'm all sorts of ****ed up benching. I need to figure it out ASAP, as I'm 5 weeks out from my meet

It's hard for me to stay tight when I unrack. Either I lose leg drive, elbows flare, shoulders aren't retracted, etc. it's difficult for me to have everything right.

You'll get it down for your meet man, you still got time

lol yeah dude, I like them, just not going down. I felt the pad and then I just felt myself sinking and sinking. I may try it with the EFS box without the pad. Maybe it'll be different. I saw it in the vids between sets and tried not to bottom out but I still need some work on it

I like the Rheband shorts. Everything was warm as hell, and it wasnt restrictive like briefs whatsoever. I should have looked around more for something cheaper, kinda purchased these at a "eh fukc it" moment. Not sure if it was the massage that did it, or if the shorts helped, but my hips felt awesome
