Rodja's PAL Sponsored Transformation

Yeah, I am weak as hell when it comes to most pushing movements.

185 is still a reputable weight, and you're only left with room for improvement.

I just had to laugh because I might be competing in an event in next year's Arnold Classic (pending my schedule), where I would have to bench that weight for 30 reps if I want to be competative. I have really short arms, so pushing movements tend to work in my favor.

I have rather long arms, especially for my height. I am 5'10" and I have a 74" reach.

And in the fightin' biz, I would have to imagine reach holds more weight than "how much ya bench".

My wingspan is only 66"

I remember seeing somewhere how much Shamrock put up in his prime, and being surprised. There's a big difference between how much you can put up versus how much that will help you in a fight. Take me for example, I can't fight worth a lick.

Coincidentally, he also has a 66' reach. He is strong as hell and I think he was about 225 when he fought Frye in PRIDE.

This evenings sparring was long, but very productive. I am getting closer to the level of conditioning that I need and I found out that my fight isn't going to be on the 29th instead of the 15th. Those two extra weeks are going to be incalculably important and helpful for me to attain the level of conditioning that I need. I am going to weigh-in tomorrow to see where I am at, but I have already seen a noticeable amount of fat loss and I can feel the adipocytes starting to shrink.

awesome man, pumped for weigh in

How do you measure this? Just hold out a tape measure with both arms?

I had a friend measure from tip-to-tip. I was surprised that it was that long, but it is very beneficial for me.

I have set myself up for a long month because I have accepted both offers and I am fighting on the 15th and the 29th for $500 show/$250 win on each fight. It will be a long, long month.

Today, I had a great cardio/conditioning session. Here is what I did:
10 30 second sprints at 11MPH on 5% grade w/ 30 seconds rest
3, 5 minute rounds of-jump rope, burpees, jumping jacks, shots, sprawls, and shadow Thai boxing. It was a grueling session and I was drenched in sweat, but it was very rewarding and I know it will pay dividends very soon.

My weight today was 177 after 1 meal and 1 qt of water. I will take a body comp on the 12th to get some more detailed numbers for myself and the other contestants.

So rodja, I gotta ask, how many bottles of anagen did you pick up at NP since they are $15.50 a bottle?

Surprisingly, none (yet that is). I have been a little low on fundage for the past couple of months, but I will soon be out of that situation.

At that price, i'm pondering buying 1 or 2 bottles for use during PCT in november. I'm already planning on taking x-factor, i'm just still plant steroid skeptical :)

Think of it as more of an ergogenic aid than a mass builder. I get great pumps, vascularity, sleep, and a some leaning from ecdy. If using during PCT, then I would double dose it.

Rodja... Wheres the show going to be in Louisiana? What part? I live in East Texas so we might get a group to go over. My cousin was talking about a fight in the Shreveport/Bossier Area but did not say when. I think his club is fighting in it...

I will find out for you tonight.

I have absolutely ZERO energy today, but I know that this is crunch time. I am off to do a long cardio and cross-training session. I am just going to gut it out and keep going.

i hear ya bro, im draggin ass this week....push through it!

i hear ya bro, im draggin ass this week....push through it!

I ended up doing a 5.5 mile run yesterday, with most of it being up-hill. My Achilles' were killing me last night, but, when I woke-up this morning, they were fine. I guess the cissus is kicking in:head:.

wow, whatcha runnin from? lol, thats one heck of a run!

Needed to test my cardio and I live in part of the Hill Country in TX. Plus, I had a Rocky moment because I run about 1/4 mile up-hill and then went up about 100 steps or so. I should have yelled out "DRAGO!" or something along those lines.

Yesterday was conditioning drills, but this time, I increased them to 5x5 minute rounds. After the 3rd round, I was starting to drag, but then about halfway through the 4th, I got a huge second wind that carried me through the rest of the session.

Today was my long-ass run again, but I added some swimming in the middle of the run to hit myself with a different form of cardio and to cool off a little. I feel like I am in great shape and cannot wait to step into the cage next Saturday. I am at roughly 177 lbs, which is perfect for me. I am much, much stronger than last time and I know my cardio is miles ahead as well.

4 days until weigh-ins

I have started my salt and water loading and will so this until Wednesday. At that point, I will reduce water and sodium and Thursday at about 6 PM, I will not take in any fluids or food until after I weigh-in. I am about 5 lbs heavier at this point than I was last time, but I am at a lower BF% and have more muscle.

Today, I have light sparring and conditioning and my last training session will be on Wednesday. Damn, I am really looking forward to Saturday. I don't know I mentioned it, but I am the main event on this card. Not too bad for my second fight...

rodja, great job bro, and ill look into your question regarding double dosing, gotta get a feeling how everyone feels bout it. Get back atcha soon

Friday will not be sweet. Cutting weight is tortuous, but it has many advantages. Hopefully, the weigh-ins will be on-time, unlike last time.

I meant sweet that you are the main event :)

Can you explain the salt + water loading?

It is very similar to what a BBer does. I double my normal water consumption for the 5th, 4th, and 3rd days before weigh-ins. The 2nd day before, I cut water to normal and eliminate sodium. Day before=24 hrs of hell; no food or water. I keep a Balance bar just so I don't go too hypo, but it is very unpleasant.

After I weigh-in, I carb-load and start drinking tons of water with Poseidon in it.

I have begun to increase my BA dose for my fight this weekend. The past few days have been only one training session/day with a focus on technique and conditioning.

I have begun the weight cutting since I am a little heavier than I would like ATM (182). I am going to limit sodium starting at 4 PM tomorrow and will stop drinking water at 10 PM. After 45 minutes in the sauna, I was at 178, but I want to certain I make weight on Friday.

On a side note, I feel AWESOME. I am so amped to get in the cage on Saturday. Cardio is greta and I am much stronger than last time. Once I get top position, the fight is over...

f-ing awesome, pumped for ya...man we gotta get that sh*t on youtube or something!!!

I weighed in at 177 this morning after breakfast and about a pint of water. I was a little concerned, but I will be able to cut this wieght pretty easily over the next 30 hours.

good luck, and just on a side note I saw that Scivation will be making a salt pill that comes out in 6 weeks or so.

I am about to leave to start my 7 hour roadtrip. My weight is good and I cannot wait to re-hydrate and carb-up tonight.

Well, I am a little beat up, but nothing is broken. I am going to start cardio today and will begin my actual training on Wednesday.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I caught a frekain cold and have been battling that for a few days. I took Tuesday and Wednesday off, but I am going to start training today. Back to the normal schedule. I am sure my cardio took a little hit, but nothing that is insurmountable.
