Roacutane or Isotretinoin price?

I'm already waiting a long to see the price drop of the Isotretinoin.
At the moment it is not affordable if you count on a regular dose of 60mg a day for several months. 1 bottle lasts only 10days??
If it becomes a lot cheaper you have a great buyer(s).
Maybe it isn't possible to make it cheaper, I really don't have an idea.
 
Yeah, it is very expensive. Why don't you get a perscription for it? It's a lot cheaper that way. I guess it would be nice to be able to buy it without one, but it is really expensive.

60mg/d?! That's way too much for regular acne relief. 20mg/d split in 2 equal doses for about 2 wks does wonders. 60mg would only be needed for the 6 month, perm effects plan, and that's a bit toxic unless the acne is really cystic and bothersome.

I have read through many of your informative posts and have a question in regards to accutane.

Recently, (past month) I have been dosing the liquid at 20 mg per day. I am using liver protectants (bulk nutrition liver pro) and was going to run at this dose for 4months. I am also supplementing gluco / chrondro to help with the sore joints.

Years ago (5) I was prescribed accutane (roche) at 40mg x2 (80) per day. I believe this was a 4 to 5 month cycle. Sides were not that bad (dry skin, sore joints especially when lifting). The results were nothing sort of amazing after trying almost every other remedy.

I would like to run this at low dose (20mg) for the four month duration. Will this have long term effects like the previous cycle (80 mg per day) since my acne is much more mild or do I need to up the dose? BTW I tried B5 for the last year.

Last question, I see in some of your posts that you recommend short (2week) cycles to clear up skin. Could I effectively use accutane in the future in these short bursts if I had breakouts? (non androgen related)

Yes, lower doses will be just as permanent, but the results are less dramatic. As long as sebaceous activity is the culprit, short course treatments will still be effective for clearing up acne. Low doses are disproportionately effective if spread out over the day. For example, in my experience, 10mg BID is more effective than 20mg taken all at once. I've used IBE's stuff and it's good.
 
Quick question for you guys about this, I use retin-a from my dermatologist, and say that IBE has the gel, but what is the liquid that you guys are talking about for. Is it to be ingested oral? This doesn't seem right to me. With accutane you get injections of that don't you. So is the liquid IsoTret, supposed to be made into an injectible. I have been looking around for this info and could not really find a clear answer here or on IBE's forum.

Isotret (accutane) is oral, tret (retin-a) is a topical. There is no injectable version of either of these that I am aware of.
 
i actually came across another research lab that sells it for 1/3 the cost that ibe is selling it for, but, the legitiy of that site remains..but a lot of bros report back claiming its working..so who knows. i'm sure ibe will hook us all up :)

maybe you can help me out, is the isotretinoin any more harmful to the liver in the liquid form like this than it would be in pill form? also is it necessary to shake up the bottle before each use? and finally would you say this is more, less or equally as effective as brand name accutane?

thanks in advance, i was recently prescribed accutane, however without insurance the cost is tremendous, and i wanted to inquire about the comparativeness of it as i am considering switching.

There is no advantage in the brand name pill over the generic liquid. Even dry formulations are effective (just take it with a fatty meal). Liver toxicity is equal in either case, unless it's formulated in a toxic carrier. I doubt that, it's probably in PEG. Just split up the doses. 40mg split up in two doses 12 hrs apart is probably less toxic than 30mg taken all at once, also more effective to spread out over the day too. Yes, I'd shake it before each use because it is a suspension and not a solution. It's just a good habit to invert anything a few times to ensure uniformity before dosing IMO.
 
stuff is crazy.. my dr. when i was 15. put me on it when i just had regular teen age acne... he put me on it TWICE higest dosage... i thought my lips were going to fall off cause they got so dry lol

how long would i expect to start to see results from isotretinoin in general? upon administering, does it quickly or gradually shrink the oil gland?
