So i just wanted to hear some thoughts and opinions on resistance band training. I just bought a heavy set of bands and i like em! Its a nice little change up. Something different. So far ive tried resistance band bicep curls palms up and down, tricep pushdowns, and pec flies. They seem to work pretty good i did about 4 sets of each when i worked out and i was sore for a couple days. I know free wights r said to be better but how bout a change up here and there? These resistance bands any good 4 building muscle? Whats your opinion?

i dont think they will be as good for mass as free weights, but they could possibly give add another dimension to the muscle. They dont strain your joints either. Its always good to change it up for a while.

Go to westside...Those bands are intended to work on your explosive power. RFD work, speed training, Dynamic work. They are great on box squats to really work for added kinetic energy. There is a lot of science that goes behind proper band training. But if your just wanting to do some arm work with them have fun.

Ive used them for a delt workout before. They work great for hitting laterals. There is a whole power band shoulder work out on Youtube

the thing about bands is it does apply resistance so it will work.

unfortunately you wont get in half of a workout as you could with weights or camy's

with bands its all concentric and no eccentric(the most important part of the rep)

or use them for technique...

I use them for BP / DL / SQ thats about it, but theyre extremely helpful for technique and speed work
