Hello, im 28 years old, and im takin animal stak b4 my workout, optimum nutrition Gold Stand whey twice a day. 1 scoop in the morning and 2 scoops after my workout and ZMA b4 bed. I was wondering, is the protein shake is enough to help me recover quick enough? I do a 3 day high frequency full body workout every other day with weekends off. Any suggestions on what to add in order to heal quicker

You could look at BCAAs intra-workout or before/after. I'm not a huge fan of just l-glutamine anymore, but I have enjoyed Sustamine (which is a particular variation of it). A lot of the GH products have enhanced recovery as one of the effects, too.

I'd personally probably just add some BCAAs into that.

Are you feeling sore? for extended periods of time?

im sore as hell and i started the high frequency workoutplan which is full body every other day weekends off. And they soreness i have i know i wont be good enough to do full body tomorrow.

Hmm. I know plenty of people who utilize the full-body splits. I'm a big fan of isolating muscle groups, but regardless, you should be able to get past this.

Every once in a while I have one that leaves me sore for a week, but most of the time, it's just a day or so.

I'm sure some others will come and weigh in here, but I would start off by adding in some BCAAs that you take around workout. Some take them pre/post, but I enjoy mixing mine in a half-gallon jug of water and drinking throughout the duration of my workout. It makes sure I stay hydrated and also fuels me the whole time I'm working out.

Some of the BCAA products will include other products like glutamine (or sustamine), citrulline malate, beta alanine, etc. Those can all help with endurance and/or recovery. If you find a product you like or want without those, though, you can always go the bulk route and add in what you want.

I don't want to throw a ton of stuff at you at once. I'd start there, see what difference that makes, and then assess from there. Either way, even if it doesn't help with the soreness, it's a great staple product that will be very helpful to you in what you're doing.

Also, I don't know if you just didn't mention it or you're not taking one, but if you aren't, you'll want to have a good multi-vitamin as a daily staple, too.

For me, Genomyx's Protocol wins the recovery category. I've tried the BCAAs and Muscle Pharm's Recon, and neither comes close to Protocol in terms of reducing soreness.

Since BCAA's intra are already covered

I would list them in the following order by my personal choice.

ON's 2:1:1
Aftershock
Dark Matter.
