Well, I have actually done about every drug out there (even meth and crack for about a year consecutively---very dark times in my early teen years), and I can personally attest that cigarettes were there long before, and long after, those ventures began/ended. Nicotine is by FAR more addictive than any drug I've tried, but only for the habit aspect. Meth is far more addicting as far as physical effects go. I think of it like this: Smokers tend to smoke in the car while it's warming up, when they start going after it's warm, when they get where they're going, when they get on the phone, after eating, after ****ting, after smoking other things, and on and on. And, if they don't have cigarettes, they will go to great lengths to get cigarettes before doing any of those things. However, this just doesn't apply to other mind-altering substances (very few people smoke crack when they get on the phone

), so they don't have the habit aspect (which for me is the HARDEST thing to deal with). I've been addicted to MANY different substances, and withdrawals suck, but it's only physical pain. Mental turmoil and not knowing what to do with yourself is so much harder to deal with in my opinion!
