Find out what your MAINTENANCE calories are first (formulas that use age, sex, height, weight, activity level are the best), and then start at 200 ABOVE Maintenance for a week. Increase calories by ~100 per week above maintanance, depending on your results. Anything OVER Maintenance will give you gains; how much over will determine whether muscle and/or fat.

Also, get into a good hypertrophy training programme.

well my daily calorie is 2,400, n my training is 5 days a week mon-friday( 2 work out sessions mon-thurs and jus one session on friday).. is there n e reason to up my calorie little by little?

good luck! I was around that after my wrestling season apprixmately 143 lbs( i wrestle 145-160 weight classes and am 165 off season) and managed to get all the way to around mid 170's in a year. I lost it last semester though from all my studies. As long as it is good healthy foods and newb gains you have potential.

I'd say you're not eating enough now at is. But you need to work your maintenance out for NOW (post #2 at Invalid Link Removed has a method that will give an estimate).

Yeah upping your calorie intake 200 over maintenance is a great idea. Just remember by upping your calories several hundred over maintenance your prolly not going to gain all muscle some fat will be added. What's your diet look like?
