Quick Question Thread - Throw 'Em Up!!

yet another prime question:

You guys have definitely made it clear that the main MOA of prime is not that of boosting testosterone. However, I was curious as to whether any of the "test subjects" did experience increased testosterone levels from the prime? I seem to remember something about you guys saying some did but i can't find that now and just wanted to check!

Cheers

I want to try either AP or Pslin. I understand I could run them both but I am new to this type of product so I want to take it easy and see how I react.

I see FOG likes Pslin, so which do you guys recommend I try out first?

I love P-Slin. For me, it's the best supp for staying lean and keeping size/feeling good.

I can go without AP, because I can cut my carbs enough and eat weird things like pumpkin puree and legumes (I don't get bloated from them).... and into my workout down 1-2 P-Slin and 40 minutes later after the workout when I'm shaking, just totally engulf 60 grams vanilla goat whey in water and then GORGE on a mix of dried fruit and some seeds.

I think that would work for me better as well. I mean I love carbs and all but I am like you I enjoy and don't bloat from beans.

If I get the extra money I may get some to add to my X-factor log. Nutraplanet doesn't have any but bb.com does.

PM coming your way.

I read that it doesnt matter if you take PRIME with food or not... is this true?
what is the absolute best way to take prime?

by the way.. I got my box last night when i got home and popped two pills b4 i went to sleep, woke up this morning with a slight pump. Impressed already!

The best way to take Prime is mid-meal. YEAH BUDDY

No test subject displayed any statistically significant change in hormone levels.

a p-value of greater than .05 right? It's been awhile since statistics.

That doesn't tell me anything though, what numerical range of actual hormonal changes occurred?

Exactly; and, it does tell you something: That any hormonal changes on a ng/dl (more or less standard), were negligible and cannot be explained by the interactions of variables - in this case, hormones and PRIME.

However, I can ascertain the exact numbers for you.

Mullet, are you guys actively looking into the actual mechanism(s) Prime does what it does? the write-up in the boxes is unclear, it even states that there could be a nutrient partitioning effect. That makes me wonder if it replaces AP or clashes with AP.... it'd be nice to see a write-up similar to the AP write-up.

any issues stacking RPM with Prime we should be aware of....specifically in terms of the Icariin (50%) or the Naringin (98% Extract) being mixed with the ingred's in Prime?

thanks for this reply mullet I missed it.

What Hormones were tested for? I see you hypothesise an antiglucocorticoid MOA, is that not itself a hormonal MOA in effect? lowering or otherwise inhibiting the glucocorticoid hormones such as cortisol which could indirectly lead to other hormonal shifts?

I appreciate any input from you dude, I'm always trying to further my knowledge in these things!

R-Mac - just FYI I've been stacking RPM with Prime for a week now and no crazy **** to report, so go for it.

LH, FSH, TT, BioT, Estradiol: A fairly standard endocrine panel.

ive been using the recreate/ap stack for maybe 3 weeks now. its going great but i just want to confirm something.

i got some bloodwork done for my physical. it came back saying my liver function is elevated "ALT 67"...i dont know what that even means.

i can assume this is from taking these supplements and ill be fine when i stop? i only use this stack and protein. prior to this i was in fine shape liver wise (well i never had any complaints anyway)

edit: i had JUST started the stack when i went to the doctors, maybe 2 days in. im guessing my liver was tripping out and might have gotten accustomed to the new supps?...i dont know.

Alanine Aminotransferase readings are somewhat variable, due to a few factors; most notably, reference ranges which variate due to age, gender, test methods and so on. What is the reference range provided for you on the lab results?

Increased ALT values are indicative of acute injury. That being said, AP should technically be liver friendly - so to speak - and so is ReCreate.

its says the normal is 5-35. but whats "normal" and who falls under that category anyway?

with that being the case, i dont know why 67 is "slightly" elevated. its almost double the max range.

he left a note saying that its failry common and usually due to fatty diet, lack of exercise, sweets etc. like a catch all for fat people. seeing as i exercise regularly and eat pretty clean (considering the rest of america), i dont think its anything to worry about really. no acute injuries to speak of...especially to the liver. i feel normal, normal bowel movements, no jaundice etc.

My friend just had a similar test result, he got his bloodwork back and he is not fat, not into supplements/gear or working out at all, just an average guy, he works in an office, commutes, and just kinda hangs out on the weekends relaxing and the doctor told him the same thing, fatty diet, lack of exercise, etc. his cure all was to exercise moderately at least 3 times a week.

I was toying with dosing ideas and whatnot, and the anecdotal reports of frontloading and was wondering how the following 2 bottle dosing scheme looks.

14 days (5on/2off x2) at 9 caps/day
35 days (5on/2off x5) at 6 caps/day

Maybe I'll extend the run by a bottle, but on the whole, is that a decent dosing scheme considering the reports of frontloading/higher dosing?

Looks perfect to me!

Sweet!

Also, can you elaborate on calpain inhibition (what it is) and how prime could affect it?

Calpains are a wide family of proteases, involved in a wide range of physiological responses and pathologies; specifically, IIRC, they modulate Ca2+ diffusion. Through this action, they effect potentiation, cell function, mobility, and fusion.

In terms of inhibition, you would have to be much more specific; there are so many calpains in the cell, and so many are so poorly understood that I cannot really make a broad generalization here.

My question was broad, because the possibility of Prime acting upon calpains was brought to my, and everyone else's attention in a fairly general way. In the Q&A writeup, the proposed mechanism of action was, and I paraphrase, "potentially through anti-glucocorticoid or calpain inhibiting properties".

So really, I don't know how I can be more specific, because I really don't know any more than what was suggested to begin with. I do appreciate your brief explanation however, which always is pretty enlightening, and humbling :). So, in layman's terms, it may inhibit a protease related enzyme, and in a round about way, decrease catabolism/allow for great anabolism? Am I close?

Mullet.. it's been a while since I popped in around here. I'm sure Jacob explained, but I'll let you know what came of me regardless, as much gets fuddled in second hand stories.

I was deep in the darkest parts of northern India, where I was overseeing some secret cultivation shenanigans Jacob was all hot and bothered about... when I came across the cutest little rhesus macaque. I took it under my wing, and had it brushing my teeth in no time. It was the best helper monkey I've ever come across in all my years. I'll skip through the superfluous accounts of prisons, prison sex, the monkey breaking me out of prison, and the eventual smuggling of the monkey to Singapore.

Long story short, when I landed in Singapore and went in for a routine post-prison physical, I became diagnosed with a rare form of monkey borne disease that probably emerged from our intimate relations. (as Chappele said "once you tried monkey, it's a wrap on people") I can't even remember the name of the disease, let alone pronounce it, or have your nerdy ass look it up.... but you get the picture.

So yadda yadda I was indisposed from the boards. I see you've taken up the helm here. Good for you. Tell Jacob he owes me a monkey. I lost mine.

Oh, sorry dude. I assumed you were asking for another reason.

Well, calpains can be involved in muscular degradation, and the aptosis of myocytes; so your last sentence summed it up more concisely than I could have.

Umm, wow. Once again you've left me pretty much speechless.

what is your 10% ketosterones engineered extract in supper cissus compared to 50% ketosterones nutra caps

It simply means that our product is composed of 10% specific components, and 90% native plant; their product would then be half and half! That's all. Just depends on what school of thought you come from on which is better.

ok that is like having a glass half full of gold and the other half lead compared to a glass with 10% gold and 90% lead.
So 50% ketosterones and 50% native plant compared to 10% specific components, and 90% native plant.
The school of thought is which would be more potant

There may be other components aside for the ketosterone contents that make cissus beneficial.

I went to GNC to pick up PowerFULL and was told by the employee that it was recalled, is there a reason for that? or was he blowing smoke up my ass cause he immediately started trying to sell me something else

It was a labeling issue, :(
I've been wondering why our shipments have been without powerfull! If anyone at GNC ever tries to get you to purchase something other than the powerfull you asked for, please pm name and store number so i can lay the usplabs smack down on him:bruce2:

Just rest and recover for now; no need to take supplements.

Hey Mullet, why are so many people running prime at 9caps a day, w/o having tried a full bottle at 6 caps a day? I have yet to start mine, but I feel like I don't know something....

*I asked on the other forum, but thought i'd ask here too...*

I've experienced sore throat and a head cold, and have read a bunch of other people experiencing that as well. I heard it suggested that the Cell Mend is actually doing that as a way to detoxify, and then once being sick is over, you feel effin good.

Well, I'm not at the feeling effin good part yet, and was wondering, what's up? Coincidence that so many people are getting the same symptoms, or is this detox thing legit?
