Quick creatine question...

Hi guys,

just a quick question... I jut got myself 1kg / 2.2 lbs of creatine monohydrate... ive been on it once (different brand) and loved it so I'm trying it out again... basically my questions are this

the label says to take 2-10g (guy at shop said go for roughly 8g) in water, 60mins prior to training

thats all... so im assuming its 8-10g max in a regular glass with water mixed... ...I remember in the past reading about adding stuff to help it disolve or absorb better into the body? would there be any issues here or would i be fine?

my main question is this: the label says nothing regarding taking it on non-workout days... i lift 3 maybe 4 times a week so im wondering when is the best time to take it on non lifting days? after breakfast? etc

Well, IMO you want to take it pre and post WO. Maybe split the 8g dose? You want to mix it with fast absorbing carbs so it causes an insulin spike. That spike will up your rate of absorption. A lot of people used to use grape juice in the past. No reason why you couldn't mix it with your shake and add some WMS, along with 4g of creatine. There are so many different ways to mix and match.
 
WMS? i cbf googling atm but can u be bored enough to name a few examples of fast absorbing carbs? lol

If you want fast carbs karbolyn or vitargo not wms. I post from my thread. Waxy Maze is a nock off of vitargo from Sweden. Waxy Maize is digested slower than maltodextrin or dextrose and even slower than white bread.
Waxy Maize is NOT the same thing as Vitargo. Idiotic supplement company’s that sell waxy maize do this because initially Vitargo was MADE from waxy maize. Since then it has changed and is made from a different carb source. Thus the unoriginal wanna-be supplement company’s were like, “Hmmm waxy maize, lets copy this idea, what the ingredients say waxy maize, it’s the same thing!!””. Then the brain surgeons called up major corn company’s and the corn company’s were like, “waxy maize sure we got that!!” They (the corn manufacturers’) must have been laughing their asses off wondering how dumb supplement company’s were for selling waxy maize starch.
Vitargo is a patented carb and cannot be used by anyone but a company called GENr8 located in California after Professional Supplements lost there license but than created Karbolyn. Yes these idiotic supplement company’s CAN sell waxy maize, but it is not VITARGO.


With the spike you can actually use less and get same results.

the guy at the place i got it wouldve said something he said dont listen to all the other crap just take it as the label says... its a good trusted company so yeah...that or the guy selling it at the counter doesnt know his stuff which i kinda doubt

um... also still unanswered: whens the best time to take it on non lifting days? and what amount still? ~8g ?
 
oh and... i got no scoop :( i gotta weigh the damn thing or figure out how many g's i get per tea spoon lol

wouldn't really matter on non workout days. In the afternoon or morning would be fine. You don't need to go as high as 8g. 5g is a good amount.

I myself used to take 15-20g a day. Done that for 2/3 months and didn't notice anything different than when taking just 5g a day. I did get more bloated on the 20g a day. Also if it says anything about pre-loading for a week when you start just ignore that and dose what you plan on dosing everyday :)

lol yea... when the 120 degree summer days roll around ill be sure to drink like crazy... its not going to hold me back

little interesting fact... Dr Oz on the Oprah show (no i dont watch it but Dr Oz is cool and when hes on it the show is worth watching coz he teaches u a lot about the human body!)... anyway he said ignore the general 2 litres of water per day rule... drink as thirst indicates and a bit more... that and... your urine should be clear white... so you could read text through it clearly if you say had stuff written on the bowl... ie if its yellow then its the visibility of the crap your body is cleaning out (toxins etc? i forgot)...

so if you're drinking plenty and its clear then you're all good

i don't really get thirsty unless i'm really dehydrated. but i do drink enough to keep my pee clear :D

A heaping teaspoon is roughly 5g if I remember correctly. You would most likely want to weigh it anyway. Just to be certain.
