Pure pf3 via prescription only now?

What. Via their FB page

It's true folks. Pure PF3 will soon be available only by prescription. We'll be selling through our stock and after that point it will no longer be available over the counter.
We're extremely proud to have brought a product of this quality and effectiveness to the sport nutrition industry. This is a very rare occurrence, if it has ever happened before, that a product has gone full prescription (not been banned or regulated). We're happy this product even saw the light of day in our industry!
Check out the video Marc Lobliner at TigerFitness made about Pure PF3 going full script[/img]

Meaning it's probably not selling nearly as well as they hoped last summer so they decided not to make it any more. My guess.

If their statement is true, guess they'll have to pull/reformulate Gameday also.

I forgot about this product, there was so much hype on here when it was released then never heard of it again

Prescription skipping clinical trials and phases, and all the FDA ****?

Sorry, but nothing goes prescription without 3 phases of clinical trials spanning approximately a decade. Furthermore, anything with a prescription needs a specific indication. What disease is PF3 treating?

MAN linked to a Lobliner YouTube page where Lobliner said it was used to help AIDS patients against muscle wasting.

I urge everyone here to think about everything MAN has said...

--MAN is discontinuing PF3 because it is going to be "prescription-only"
--they will still sell Gameday
--they have sufficient stock of Gameday with PF3 so they won't reformulate any time soon

so...
--apparently MAN can still sell Gameday and really ANYTHING with PF3 for as long as they want, prescriptions be damned

or

they are correct in saying PF3 is prescription-based, BUT
---MAN is discontinuing it for other reasons and is using the "prescription' claim as a smokescreen; and we are led to believe they're cancelling it because of some prescription claim

which makes more sense?

Lol. You read my fb question about gameday being reformulated haha

Cachexia is treated with appetite stimulants (i.e. cannabinoids) and anabolics (i.e. anavar). 3g of protein will not treat cachexia and will never be approved for this purpose

You're questions and comments are going to be ignored consistently lol. I call bullshyt on the prescription claims. Why not just tell it like it is. The product wasn't selling well enough. MAN you can still come clean and people won't be pissed. I suggest coming clean because this is just going to piss people off

No more board presence here. The guys I kind of still keep in touch with don't usually post in here.

PF3 sold better than you'd think, but not as well as they'd have you think. My opinion.

Pf3 sold out in less than three days after release from the mothersite. As a drug, i am aware of it used in higher doses (minus the hcl) for the treatment of ibs. Interestingly, musclemeds came out with a product that contains something that may be similar, though in an unspecified extraction and in an unspecified amount in a blend

I woke up in the morning and I stepped outside and I took a deep breathe and went to AM online and I think to myself "what's going on?"

Serum protein isolate is not FDA approved for the treatment of IBS. You cannot get a prescription for it. This is, again, a lie.

A facsimile of the order asking for PF3 to be removed for sale as a sports supplement would go a long way to verify MAN's claims. Unlikely, but unfortunately that's the age we're in regarding supplement claims.

The only lies here are your spurious.accusations bro. You form your conclusions alittle too quick for someone who seems to demand all manner of verification from others. The stuff im referring to is called enteragam i think. I dont know anything about if people are writing scripts for it and I dont know if this stuff has anything to do with pf3 not being sold in the supplement world. It was used for ibs in the trials and is marketed for that purpose. You know, You could always just ask me for more info instead of doing zero research and forming a contrary conclusion out of thin air to get your input

Well, i dont doubt them. I mean, there is alot they could have done with it before giving up, like offering much larger quantities at lower rates so people could experience what loading it feels like(phenomenal) at 15g and up a day. Another reason i believe their statement is because i used to be able to get my hands on something called pf5, which now i can no longer do.

Lol, zero research? My area of professional expertise is in the treatment of disorders. I could break down the entire etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of IBS for you if I wanted to. But I know a waste of time when I see one, and quite literally every conversation I have had with you is a waste of time.

its not a protein but rather bovine colostrum extract with some betaine hcl

Serum protein ;) Not sure if it's bovine though... could be swine for all we know... it never specified the source of the serum. Probably bovine though (probably same source that MuscleMeds gets theirs).

As an aside, I think it was originally on MuscleMeds product page for Secret Sauce where they listed the name of the actual BSA they were using but since has been removed (this is me recalling off the top of my head from something I was digging around through like 2 months ago) and that led to a google search on it. Or it may have been me seeing BSA somewhere else in which led to a google search, regardless, a google search was done. The search got me to a company page that dealt with BSA for supplementation use and it would appear that they were the source for the BSA contained in PF3/GameDay and most probably MuscleMeds Secret Sauce. How did I come to this conclusion? Because they had a whey protein vs BSA image that was IDENTICAL to PF3's. It looked like half the PF3 write up was lifted from that page for the BSA. So that would appear to be their source for the BSA but nowhere did I see it listed as a prescription type deal anywhere. On the other hand, I think bovine serum albumin is a pretty common protein used for petri dish experiments when a generic protein is called for?

keep confusing this and biogrow in terms of ingredients lol

Oh lawd. I logged this back when it came out, and thought it gave some good results. I also gave it a good review, and enjoyed my run with it.

Not good enough to need to be prescribed, IMO. Shady, if you ask me.

I belive Body Genie has a protein with this in it although it is dosed at 22 grams a serving

This was in the old ErgoPharm GF Pro. One of the best proteins ever. Haven't tried this product yet. Not really a fan of MAN.

Boy do I miss GF Pro. That stuff was awesome.

I also logged PF3 when it first came out, and I noticed decent results as well. However, there was so much debate about it, I was constantly second guessing myself. It seemed to give me better recovery and when taking my pre's the pump was always more intense.

But if I'm going to get prescriptions, I want some TRT, Viagra, and Medicinal lol

Several other brands currently sell this bovine plasma protein or whatever you want to call it. This makes no sense why it would be prescription only.

Once again, consider all the evidence we know about serum isolate protein's availability. Then reconcile that with MAN's press release. What are we left with as a conclusion? Think very deeply.

This thread should now be about gf pro nostalgia. The raspberry lemonade was the ****.

GF Pro was great, taste, quality... and can we just take a minute to remember the prices of whey back then... brings a tear to my eye.

It shined for me at 6 scoops.... cost adds up quickly at that dose

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 40lb bag of Optimum Nutrition protein was somewhere between 60-80 dollars. I forgot what a small tub of Gf pro cost.

i would totally accept that theory, but the premise that isolate is out there hasn't been presented here yet. musclemeds describes a concentrate, not an isolate, which is very very different. with a concentrate, we are most likely talking 1/5 the IGg, but theyre calling it an albumin concentrate, which may leave us at a smaller percentage, if any. also, i dont even want to get into bodie genie. they originally claimed to have a whopping 45% IGg, tested that high as of 2013, only to make to critical adjustment to their page in the last year on the only megasite they sell at to 10% IGg. whats worse is that after making that adjustment, they didnt adjust any of their other data; thus they claim to have a product that has 15x more IGg than whey, but that no longer aligns ect. actually, their page is now loaded with falsehoods. I called it out in a review, which of course was removed. finally, these guys never adjusted their product page on their homepage, thus they have drastically different bioactive readings posted for the same product from one ad to the next. what i think happened is that they changed their formulation but continued to charge their customers 60 bucks for something much more inferior and inexpensive (without informing them of the change in potency). .anyway, my point is this: show me the serum protein isolate anyware BESIDES the drug world (enteragam)

ahh. i gather from your total dodge of my point that you are in complete agreement that:1.) that youve done zero research into whether there was a serum protein isolate drug product for ibs before calling me a liar for stating there was. 2.) that you now acknowledge, thanks to me, enteragam exists, and that it is serum protein isolate marketed as a drug for ibs. im sorry you feel expanding your knowledge of ibs treatment options here is a waste of time to your specialized expertise in treating ibs.

God this forum was so peaceful without your blathering, incoherent rants. I think my 3 year old cousin could put together a more coherent reply. Anyway, no further point arguing with a brick wall...carry on, you're right, PF3 is now the standard of care for IBS.

I actually do suffer from IBS. Would this protein help at all?

...
If you have IBS, like as in the actual clinical diagnosis and not a self diagnosis, then no it won't help. True IBS has no underyling pathology though recent data suggests small intestinal flora overgrowth. Probiotics won't help since they target the colon, and neither will elimination diets since the issue isn't malabsorption in true IBS. GMOs certainly have nothing to do with it since IBS has existed long before genetic modification. What you should do is ask your doctor for a lactulose breath test (very simple test), and if a biphasic peak is observed, he/she will prescribe a lumenal antibiotic which may help

Thank you I'll give that a shot. Tried probiotic treatment and it actually made the issue worse! When I stopped the probiotics symptoms got better. I have GERD and apparently IBS and GERD can go hand in hand. However I contribute it more to my generalized anxiety disorder. When I get really really nervous my stomach becomes a wreck.

I recommend a TSH reading from your physician, as hyperthyroidism can cause both rapid transit diarrhea/IBS symptoms as well as anxiety. But yeah, if it's true IBS, new data suggests small intestinal bacterial overgrowth is the cause

What is happening to MAN? Years back, they were in the top five of the most innovative, high quality, zero-BS supp companies out there

Like I've mentioned earlier, I most probably stumbled upon the source which MAN used for PF3's BSA. The company was selling it directly as well and had the SAME DAMN WHEY VS BSA COMPARISON IMAGE WHICH MAN USED, except much higher quality image thus I am pretty sure MAN lifted the image from them rather than the other way around. Their ad copy/description was basically lifted by MAN as well for the PF3 write up from that product.

The most important point to be made however is this: In no way shape or form did that company imply that the BSA is some sort of prescription drug/nutrient. They touched on some medical uses but you can kind of see that they were more or less just pointing out possible uses for the stuff. Also, I'm pretty certain I found that company via looking at Secret Sauce's ingredients explanation/list and googling the BSA. So PF3 and the BSA in Secret Sauce are most probably the same stuff.
