Protein Shake vs FOOD Source

i question the veracity of your questioning

i question your memory

i question..err n/m

Why do you guys only quote my first sentence? I never said the word deplete. I said decline. There's a difference. Why is it that forums are only used for trolls? Grow up. You know very well what I said. And what it meant. If not, then I guess ignorance really is a bliss.

Guys, I never said that chewing gum would deplete your digestive enzymes, you came up with that. What I said was that it can lead to a decline in enzymes.

That's how you quote when your not going out of context to troll over a forum made to share information.

Why is a decline in total enzymes a concern? As long as there are sufficient digestive enzymes for each meal without physiological side effects, I don't really see an issue in a decline. One could argue that a bulking diet would also make the amount of digestive enzymes decline.

and you quote me, for this?

okay, i'll play

i have a buddy, he is losing his hair
ergo, the hair on his head is in decline
and thus, his hair has been depleted

de·plete

/diˈplēt/

Verb

1.Use up the supply of; exhaust the abundance of.
2.Diminish in number or quantity.

de·cline
[dih-klahyn] verb

to fail in strength, vigor, character, value, etc.; deteriorate.

now i question if you know how to read a dictionary

good day sir

I never said chew gum and live off shakes.
I just said chew gum.
You're becoming your own enemy in this argument.

Seriously ? You just showed that these words aren't the same in your own copy and paste.

You know what those words mean right? I'll make it easy for you.

de·cline**
/di'kl?n/
Verb
Become smaller, fewer, or less; decrease: "the birth rate continued to decline".
Noun
A gradual and continuous loss of strength, numbers, or quality.

de·plete**
/di'pl?t/
Verb
Use up the supply of; exhaust the abundance of.

Synonyms
exhaust - drain - empty - use up - evacuate

Obviously 'to become smaller' or a gradual loss isn't the same as the exhausting or using up the supply of something.

Good day, sir

in the verb state, they are synonyms sir

many words have different contextual meanings

it is not a stretch (as you seem to feel) to use them interchangeably for the terminology we are speaking of

in any event, i can see the persona you wish to display here, and politely decline to be sucked into your hair-splitting minimization of your own ludicrous ideas and fantastic physiological philosophies on enzymatic function -- whether it is decline, deplete, or de-whatever

but i thank you for questioning me..

and yes, i question how you will fare on this forum

take care

I'm glad you realize this. Yet still fail to see the context in which I used the words.

I give up.

Like I said, its a bliss.

Guys. I'm not here to argue. I've lurked for years. And thought this was a forum with open minded people here to discuss things. Yet I join a thread and get attacked and my own words used against me out of context. I don't care if I fare well in such a situation. Its not worth it to argue over the internet, especially on forums, because even if you win, your still retarded.

fair enuff

rather than go down a road to argue semantics or context (especially if you think you were being picked on or misquoted), you should have stuck to the point you were trying to make and discussed the point intelligently with this man, who is really the only one who bothered to ask you a question pertinent to your stance, and yet you ignored:

for my part, i said one thing about memory and you started quoting me and spewing words like troll and ignorance
which, to no wonder, i could take offense to, no?

is not about winning or making someone else look bad here

and this last post from you looks genuine and good, so let's get past that crap and let bygones be bygones, and start over

go ahead and expound on your platform of thought, if you have valid info to share

I think the issue here is miscomunication; people interpretted decline and deplete as being essentially the same thing, which I also happen to do in certain contexts. If such a thing occurs (as it did) do not take anything said thereafter as an attack; simply reiterate your initial point / rephrase if you must.
Back on topic though; if you were overly concerned you could imitate the mastication process or add chunky things to your shake (like banana or whatnot), in any case this would not strike me as being a huge problem due to the fact that chewing isnt the only initater of digestion.

What did I miss? It says 12 pages on my phone, I'm not reading all that.

I drink a shake twice per day. Well, three if you get technical.

Bfast, post workout, always.
And the third, somedays I sip on a shake throughout the day to keep aminos pumping in steadily, when I know I won't be eating for a while.

Nutrient timing is a science. Your stupid if you think otherwise.

Turned into something else entirely. ---> Mastication thread

Basically.. op was proved wrong and ran his mouth far to long rather than digesting education that was thrown his way and this thread is no longer about protein!

Dude I am so confused
no question

i really knew where this was going anyway, and that this was nothing but supposition and garbage by aaron
but i went down the rabbit hole with him and played along
and then i decided to give this cat the benefit of the doubt...
he follows with no more input

case closed, back on topic

I drink two shakes a day, pre and post, but i have had days or even weeks where my lifes schedule has been so crazy i have had double that. No negative effects noticed.

As for the "liquid protein" thing, how do you explain the large amounts of people who have had huge gains adding large amounts of milk to their diet for long stretches.

uhhh
has nothing to do with the protein content specifically, my friend :)

in fact - i will argue this is not even something you should consider doing

consider:
humans are the ONLY species that drink milk from another animal, and
we are also the only species that drinks milk into adulthood

no grown man should drink milk

no dairy for me, and i'm doing just fine ;)

I agree but still drink tons of milk.

Lots of good calories in milk.

oooooooooo i just now saw this

i do not question this at all!
but - ALWAYS makes for lively and spirited debate (and fueled by such words as the second sentence i did not bolden lol)

context, and understanding of that context - is everything

btw
your..your, bro
you are
you're

To me all calories are good calories :skinny:
i question the extent of your skinniness, that you could call ALL cals, good :nono:

Just for arguements sake, consider humans are the only animal who cooks their food. Humans also eat a wider variety of food than any other animal.

i don't want to argue, and you are missing the point

and none of this has anything to do with your above apparent understanding of WHY milk adds weight to you

protein itself -- IN ANY FORM be it liquid powder or otherwise -- is the LEAST conducive macronutrient with which to gain WEIGHT
by far, not even close

I love milk I drink a gallon every few days :) whole milk as well! No deficiency on lactase enzymes here.

been around forever..

but in reference to your pic -

i just found it ironic that you would refer to someone as dumb, and then make a dumb error yourself within the same post in which you espouse dumb

:toofunny:

i never said I wasn't dumb. it's easier to spot other dummies depending on how dumb you really are.

all the milk fans come out of the woodwork lol

i'm not saying a lot of ppl don't pratice the habit
what i'm saying is, it is not healthy for all you aspiring fledglings :D
and could be detrimental to you, without you even realizing it

but if you want to drink milk, have it and more power to you

Why is it not healthy if you don't have an adverse reaction to it?

I think its pretty clear he was calling you dumb. "It takes one to know one"

you could have an adverse reaction to it and not realize it, because it's something you have just always done
issues include increased phlegm..breathing problems..skin issues..these are but a few

you can't know, what you don't know, Valdez

try eliminating it from your intake for a month, see how you feel

I think its pretty clear he was calling you dumb. "It takes one to know one"
and now you wish to place yourself in the middle of this one?

interesting, carry on

Hmmmm... Most of my life prior to working out I never drank milk because I hated it lol. Then with the addition of protein shakes I slowly started drinking it again. I can't say I've noticed any trends of ill effects whatsoever. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Carrying on, lol

Is fruit bad? Its mainly sugar? Thats if im following your premise...

Not at all. Just that milk is not a better protein source if that's what someone is drinking it for when its caloric density is mainly fat and sugar. Harder to digest sugar than most fruit as well

What's wrong with the fat content of whole milk? I see you issue regarding galactose and digestion, but not a single problem with the fats.
