protein/carb/fat ratio

So what is the best ratio for cutting up? Currently I'm trying out a 50/30/20 ratio. According to a BMR calculator and the Harris Benedict Calculator(thanks google!) I would need 2588 calories to lose weight. Protein intake would be 320 grams and carbs would be 194 grams according to the ratio I mentioned. Now should I be taking that same amount on days off from lifting? Should I bump up the carbs say every 4th or 5th day to like double just to give the metabolism a jolt?

I lost weight using a 40/40/20 split and it worked fine but I believe it was due to using healthy carbs, eating often, working out, healthy fats, glycemic loads and keeping track of all my foods using fitday.com

Constant monitoring of your body will play a key part. Just using formulas and not adjusting when needed will result in poorer results. All imho of course.

You can tell by all those neat looking red things, that Jayhawkk knows what he's talking about. But if you want to get "cut up," diet is only half the battle.. but IMO, the most important half. Planning out your day with the foods and methods that JH talked about is crucial. And I mean, really plan it out! Make a protocol and stick to it. Weekend binges on beer in pizza (I have no idea how old you are BTW) will impede your path greatly.

Good luck to you on your way. Search around to find some ideas concerning what kinds of food to eat and how others achieved success. And when all else fails, break open your piggy bank and call the clown.
