Very nice fellow Team Valor member!

Has anyone seen this?

It lists the potential move sets for each Pokemon, as well as what looks to be the cool down/recharge time for each move, and a handy DPS (damage per second?). If that's true (which it may be, a friend of mine was saying how one of his Pokemon was fast and another was slow), I may have to rethink what moves I think are good vs bad. Supposedly the battle mechanics (or at least the calculations) are pretty advanced (as they have been in other games).

For example, I was looking at my Arbok, who has bite (6 dark) instead of acid (poison 10), but due to a supposed faster cool down, it does 12 DPS as opposed to only 9.5 for acid, making it a better move.

And for my Parasect, bug bite (6 bug) is the best move it can get, and actually does 13.3 DPS, making it stronger than acid, which only does 9.5 DPS despite having a 10 base.

Apparently water gun is a good quick attack, with 10 base and 20 DPS (my Slowbro and Vaporeon have it).

Also, apparently Aqua Tail (50 water) is better than Hydro Pump (60 water) in terms of DPS (21.3 vs 15.8).

I'm going to have to see how valid this is, mainly see if certain attacks they say are quicker are actually quicker. That may completely change things.

Also, apparently there's an egg hatching chart:

Got a 10 KM cooking. Praying for a Lapras, Snorlax, or Aerodactyl. Dragonair would be cool too,

I'm still remember playing Red and Gold and what Pokemon were stronger. Go is way different. I'd never use an eeveelution except an Espeon in Gold. AquaTail Vape is #5 strongest IIRC

It's so different here because each Pokemon has only 2 set moves (giving 1-2 types). In the normal games, you could have 4 different type moves and use them whenever. There aren't many electric Pokemon here, making Jolteon an appealing electric Pokemon in GO. In Red/Blue you could teach a ton of Pokemon thunder or something. I'm pretty sure I had some Pokemon (perhaps Dragonite) with flamethrower/fire blast, thunder, surf/hydro pump, blizzard, etc. GO doesn't offer you as much versatility, but it encourages you to catch a lot of Pokemon to have a capable and diverse team to take on different gyms.

Used anther incense when I went for a run today. Caught this guy:

I also caught two Bulbasaurs, so I evolved one:

I also hatched an Abra from a 5 km egg.

You can use this to see what Pokemon are around. It actually works. I was searching around a mile or two from my house, and saw an Arbok, so I went to find it, and it was there. It never even showed up on my radar/feet, but it popped up on my screen:

Be careful with Pokevision. It technically violates the terms of services

But yes it's a bad ass

Saw a gym I could take down, walked there, went to challenge it but then I see this was added:

Wow, damn. I think the strongest I've seen at a gym so far is a 2000-2100 Eggexutor. How many Pokemon are at that gym, 3? Depending on the other 2, you may be able to use 6 to take down their 3, but probably not hold it for very long after that.

Wow that's crazy. I just walked into the atl airport and destroyed the two 500's in the gym there and took it ha. Might actually hold that for a min if that's the best around there.

And it's gone already ha. The pains of being the lone gym owner

^ right?

I am definitely outnumbered by Blue team by my place, rare I get help stacking a gym

Ok what app version are you guys using?

My Iphone gets less variety, and fewer rares than Jana's Samsung, which is frustrating when I have to try competing against other locals with a handicap.

We'll be side by side and without fail she sees more variety than me, I'll have ratatas and pidgeys, she'll have 1-2 rarer options on her "nearby" list that aren't on mine...

starters appear more for her as well, seemingly a lot more.

I have 4 levels on her...

Wtf.

Are you talking about actually showing up to be caught, or just on the map/feet? I find that its different on my iPhone vs my dads Andeoid, but the same Pokemon actually show up to be caught.

Both, she got into "combat" with a few Pokemon right beside me I couldn't see

Neither of us were incensed, the only real difference was our level and network

I'm just nerd raged because I missed out on a Bulbasaur

My wife and I both have iPhones and the same thing happens. I dont think it has to do with app version. We can be walking side by side and she will hands down have a better selection of nearby pokemon while I only see pidgey's, ratatta's and maybe a weedle or something lol

100 to evolve. Jesus.

On a side note. Picking up my Gameboy on the way to the casino tonight so I have something to do on the drive there lol

Yeah, that's a lot of candy. I know you can find some 3rd evolutions in the wild (like the Blastoise ITT), and I caught a Nidoking and saw a Nidoqueen on the map, but I have some doubts that there are going to be many Dragonites running around to be caught, haha. Just have to keep catching Dratini, but getting the Dragonair saved me 25 candy vs evolving my Dratini.

Which game are you playing? I still have Red and Yellow on my Gameboy Color. I also have Gold, Silver, and Crystal, but I'm not sure they all work.

I woke up early today (I got to the gym at 7:30) and was rewarded with a Wartortle:

Just spent about 15000 stardust upgrading my ~250 Nidoking to 882. I probably should have saved it for something stronger later, but I like Nidoking, and he's the final (3rd) evolution, so I don't need to save the candy for anything.

Crystal was my favorite aside from the original three. I liked the legendary pokemon in it and how long the game actually was

This got a laugh when I put it up on a local gym

Other people can see the Pokemon's nicknames?

Well they were next to me as I took the gym and I may have taunted and shown what I intended to do lol

Can they not see Nicknames?
Spoiling my fun if so I hoped my neighbourhood would see that

Nicknames appear for me once in the gym...

I'll take one later and check from Jana's phone

I read an article saying that other people can't see the nicknames (maybe to prevent kids from seeing inappropriate names?), but I'm not sure. Hopefully they show up.

R/B/Y are going for a few hundred on eBay right now lol.

I have crystal and leaf green/fire red. Also have emerald but hate it. LG/FR is cool because it's an updated version of R/B but adds in the second gen after you beat elite four.

You can buy Red for GBC for $30 from GameStop (online) for $29.99. Yellow and Blue are not available/out of stock.

It looks like the Blue selling for $502 is "new" and "used" is $74. Yellow looks like $502 and $74.

You could still turn a little product buying some at $30 I'd think.

People are selling on Craigslist for $10-$15.

Amazon fees + shipping will probably drop it to $50-55. Still, not bad

I also got Mew in Yellow without "cheating." I used the in game glitch, which is actually a little bit of work, haha:

If you want these cheap, go to garage sales in neighbourhoods with our age groups.

Or message local garage sale posters listing videogames and ask

#bargainhunting

My buddy grabbed a Gameboy colour and Pokemon Red together for $20 lol

$20 Canadian, too...

That's a hell of a deal, especially $20 CAD, haha.

There's already people selling their Pokemon GO accounts on craigslist. Someone's asking $1500 for a level 27 with a handful of 2000+ CP Pokemon.

I do see some good potential deals on some older Pokemon games and consoles though:
-an original DS for $10
-GBA for $5
-Pokemon Crystal for $5
(all from the same seller).

Vaporeon just got nerfed in GO. Apparently water gun went from 10 to 6. That's not good for my 2 1000+ Vaporeons, but it should balance things out much better, which I like.

Edit: it looks like a lot of quick moves were really nerfed. Quick moves with 20 DPS (water gun) are now 12 DPS. Interesting.

So far I actually like the changes. Water gun was so OP, that I was very disappointed with my Golducks and Starmies that didn't have it.

Wanna snag me that crystal and I'll pay you for it lol

Still next to no electric types for me...

Just one Pikachu

Been running Vap/Magmar/Hypno at my top

Almost got my Alakazam, fingers crossed on a decent move set
