Propose a couple stickies

I usually approach them from the front... :hammer:

If you ask for a full blood work-up it usually covers most of the bases.

I just got one done, it included; Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (liver, kidneys, etc), Lipid Profile, CBC, PSA (my age), and I requested a Test Panel (prefaced it because of my age), Thyroid, and a GGT (liver specific...prefaced it as I am an x-drinker).

So you just say, "Im going to run a cycle of PH or AAS and want to get my blood tested?" I imagine most doctors would tell you they wont participate in letting you harm you body, and tell you to get lost.

No...you ask for an annual physical or wellness check-up, which usually includes the bloodwork I mentioned above. If you become familiar, via the information presented in the stickie, with the variables that are impacted by AAS use, you can monitor yourself.

K, sounds good, also I think I will throw in that my libido has been low since starting propecia, which really isnt true but will most likely get him to run the hormone profiles.

Wow guys kudos for one of the best stickies I have seen bar none!! This is such great info and so nicely consolidated and written. Thank you. While far from an expert ( and I mean so far its not even on my map lol) I did have a couple comments.

1) As of March 2003, it is the official recommendation of the america Association of Endocrinologists that the normal range for TSH levels is .3 to 3.0. While this is true neither of the major labs (Labcorp and Quest) have changed the range on their test reports. Theres a lot of interesting data out there on hypothyroidism and like diabetes the estimates of borderline untreated cases is very high.

2) On the Estradiol test its important for males to use the ultra sensitive assay. While one would assume most docs would know this they dont. The standard test is designed to be used in woman where the level is much higher and therefoe is very inaccurate for the purposes of testing men.

Again great great thread. This thread is a perfect example of why I love this board.

We always appreciate the appreciation :)

This threads for you... :welcome: ;)

I like the bodybuilding wiki idea from up above in this thread.
I notice that there is a safe cycling sticky in the anabolic section that I'm sure lot's of people that just use prohormones or regular supp would find useful. i only found out about this sticky a few days ago and I've been a looking at this board for awhile [

This is/was the brainstorming drafting thread that became the final draft of and as the Safe Cycling stickie that you see posted in the Anabolics, Prohormone and the Supplements Forums.

Yes they are on the prohormone and supplement forums. My bad. I didn't notice. Thx

decided to read the stickies over again but i have a suggested addition. should add skin care, since acne can get pretty insane during a cycle.

things like B-5 i believe and that shampoo a few studies have suggested to reduce androgenic sides locally.

EDIT: aslo maybe you should add in how one could try to keep off colds while on cycle, there was a great thread "not get sick stack" or something along those lines.

just suggestions of course.

Echinacea is always a good addition in the winter time to keep immune system bumpin. Keeping cold ezee on hand is very good. At the first sign, start sucking on those things like its your job, works for me sometimes. Also if possible, grab some tamiflu using a prescription from your doc and keep it on hand.

For the skin I think its pretty safe to say that using neutrogena oil free acne face and body wash with salicylic acid will keep most people clear. If not, add in some benzoyle peroxide products such as duac topical gel (dermatologist prescribed). If acne is a problem in general, even off cycle, accutane treatment is 90% effective for stopping the excessive oil production of the sebactious glands all over ones body. I have gone through a 6 month, doctor monitored, accutane treatment. I was 20 then. Im 23 now, and have never had a problem with pimples ever since. This stuff is a permenant treatment, but it is very serious. Side effects are no joke, and using it while on cycle is one of the worst things I can think of doing. It requires blood work every month and it can have serious sides, so dont take it lightly.

Anyways, there was my little bit of knowledge. Later gator.

dont think my doc would write me an Rx for that stuff, but i do take olive leaf w/ echinacea and its been doing its job well.

my bro was on accutane and all i saw was dry skin everywhere. it did take away his acne though. supposedly i never had it bad enough for that stuff but ive gotten everything else under the sun and gave it a go. nothing really worked though.

Well then it may be worth talking to your dermatologist about undergoing accuatane treatment. Do it in the summer, but stay out of the sun. Its a hellish 5-6 months, but it will benefit you for the rest of your life. I couldnt really lift at all due to the body soreness, but I am so thankful that I did it, it has truely made my life better. I never had it terrible becuase I was always on a plethora of products, but once this treatment was done, I could go on vacation, stay over at peoples houses, go to the beach, and do everything else in my life without worrying about how I looked or when I had to wash my face. It changed my life for the better, but it really, really sucks going through it.

Well at least you can see them better now :)

If you feel like you would like to add a contribution to the stickie you are more than welcome to do so. There is of course the need to do the research and provide the references and links and such as has been done in the original draft of the stickie. To suggest that this area be covered is a great idea. You did the easy part. If you can put together something presentable with the above mentioned criterial covered post it here and we can revise and edit it to possibly be added.

Its a good idea...just follow through with it :)

i might just do that.

Bumping this old one. We have learned a lot in the couple or few years since this was started. We have the final draft as a stickie. It could certainly use some revising with all the new stuff we know and is available.

This is an invitation for those that desire to contribute the board knowledge base.

Here's the final draft: Invalid Link Removed

I think there has been some changes at Direct Labs since this came out. A lot of blood draw places..Alliance Labs for one..dropped them completely. I can't get drawn up here in Flagstaff or Sedona anymore.
