Prodigalson's Cutting log

Hi Josh,

Thanks for checking in. I have noticed appetite creep. It's a struggle but a worthy fight. I had a talk with a buddy of mine who made it to semi-finals for Ninja Warrior, and while discussing his training methods for competition, had asked about leg exercises and he said that generally, leg bulk was detrimental to Ninja Warrior (extra mass that doesn't improve performance; it's mainly upper body strength focused). This was a bit unexpected (but made sense when I thought about it). I like the heavy lifts and had to reconsider my goals. I have since decided to pursue a gymnast approach, such as calisthenics.

Congrats on the shred so far—55lbs down and keto-adapted is no joke. Ninja Warrior is a sick goal, way more motivating than stage lights IMO.

I ran a bunch of stuff over the years trying to get contest lean, and the recomp speed on reta was just different—like watching my delt separation show up in real-time over 6-8 weeks. But honestly? The real win for me was the headspace. Food noise finally shut up, wasn't obsessing over my next meal, could actually focus on training.

Your keto base is solid, but getting from 24% to sub-10% is where it gets brutal. Have you noticed any appetite creep lately, or still dialed in? That was always my wall—keto handled cravings until it didn't, then I'd start negotiating with myself about "just a little more fat."

What's your training looking like now? Obstacle course stuff already, or still building the engine?
