Power Nutrition T-GEL

Looks like PN doesn't carry T-GEL anymore. They have something else called Power Gel. Has anyone tried it and how does it compare to the old T-GEL.

The good thing about the power gel is that its 8oz for $25 and says it can hold 10-12.5 grams of powder.

But the $19.99 4oz T-gel claims to hold 10g. if that's true, which is the better deal?

well u'll get more servings out of the power gel

yeah, but those "servings" are diluted by the higher volume.
Let's see how they stack up:

PowerGel: $25, 240ml, 13g (max)
T-Gel: $20, 120ml, 10g (max)

Now let's see if we can do some math to figure this out. If you loaded up each with the max grams your favorite PH you get:

PowerGel: 54.1 mg/ml X 2 = 108.2 (serving)
T-Gel: 83.3 mg/ml X 2 = 166.6 (serving)

Now we'll use the arbitrary term "serving" to figure out how cost effective each is:

PowerGel: 108.2 / 25 = 4.3
T-Gel: 166.6 / 20 = 8.3

So it appears that T-Gel is almost twice as cost effective as PowerGel. Now just figure in facts like T-Gel is not a liquidy so it spreads easier, and it's made by Chemo, and Chemo has setup this nice board for us, and determine for yourself which is better. ;)

your calculation is off. power gel is 240ml and t-gel is 120ml so the former has 2X servings. it should be:

power gel: 54.1mg/ml X 2= 108.2 servings/25 = 4.3
t-gel : 83.3mg/ml X 1= 83.3 servings/20 = 4.2

pretty close now, but t-gel still edges out power gel by $5.

the only other concern i have is, can t-gel actually hold 10g?

Yes, and you get better absortion.
