Please Encourage Me As I Try My First Cut

Did about 2 hours of basketball tonight. Great sweat. Had the chocolate milk mixture and some chicken a little later. Good stuff.

glad to hear your seeing some results so fast

Thank you :D How's that glycobol treating you?

I'll just have to judge my strength at the end of this log to make sure I lost mostly fat.

My last chest workout I hit 225 X 14 on flat BB bench. I was gunning for that 15th rep so bad! Took the day off yesterday because I needed it. Cardio went well this morning. Today I'm going to hit back for 12-15 reps per set and see how that goes.

I really feel better on this carb schedule. Carbs for breakfast and immediately PWO. I feel great and I don't feel flat or anything yet.

I'll post back numbers later.

Sorry for the little delay in posts guys. Went home this weekend to chill with my folks. I weighed in at 226.5 this morning, which translates to a 3.5lb loss last week. Not bad, considering a had a little bit of a carb up this weekend and some steak.

Seriously though...anyone been to the Texas Roadhouse?!? I got the 16oz Ribeye with mushrooms and onions on it, some fresh veggies, and a sweet potato. It was AMAZING!

Didn't do any cardio or lifting on Saturday, and I played basketball for about 75 minutes tonight. Only supps on the weekend was Mitotropin and Orange Triad. Some pancakes for breakfast and I'm good to go :D

Great weekend. Despite the weight loss, I feel really strong. Looking leaner too.

Oh, and I got an 83 on my chem exam, which was 15 points above the average :)
I also got an 84 on the Nutrition exam, which was 7 points above the average...

Yo people. I've been not feeling the effects from Mito as much as I used to, so I took 200mg of caffeine with it this morning. Worked really well, especially with a little lack of sleep :)

Great back and bis workout today. Watching Pumping Iron yesterday helped ignite my lifting spirit! I pulled 275 on deadlift 15 times. Biceps were great too. Sticking too 12+ reps for nearly every set.

i discontinued glycobol due to getting some type of stomach flu or food poisoning. Will continue it next week.

your strength is great. i deadlift 275 only like 5 times and i dont want to sound cocky but I'm pretty freaking strong and deadlifts are one of my strengths. You 12 reps?!?!?! WOW. You must be pretty androgenic because that is some impressive strength for someone who isn't even done getting all his noob gains!

by the way how is pumping iron? i havnt seen it. worth renting? have you seen bigger faster stronger? i dunno if i even want to see it but people say its good...

I actually pulled it 15 times, see above post ^^^ :D

I think I am still getting noob gains. But I have been lifting for about 5 years now, bbing for 13 months. Hurray for me I guess!

Pumping Iron was good. It's surprised me how cocky Arnold was, LOL! He cocks off to Ferigno right in front of his family, it was hilarious. Good behind the scenes lifting and prepping for a contest.

Bigger, Faster, Stronger is really good too. I downloaded both movies. A great unbiased view of steroids.

I recommend both :hitit:

Just a little update. Going in a few minutes to do legs. It should be interesting to see how the 12-15 rep range feels with legs. I've hit 250X20 before, I'm not too worried.

Didn't get to do cardio this morning because of a chemistry lab at 745, so I'll be playing basketball tonight around 9. Talk to you all later.

Good leg workout today. So good that I'm going to take a nap now :p

I hit 300 X 12 on squats after 275 X 15. Did some leg press, leg extensions, and seated calf raises. Good ****. My legs are looking great. Starting to get some good tear drop going.

Basketball was awesome tonight. Played almost 1 hour 45 minutes. My legs were a little sore, but they were fine when I got warmed up.

So, here's the shimmy for this weekend. I'm going home again because I have an interview with GNC on Friday. Since I'm home, I won't be able to lift on Friday and Saturday. To compensate I only lifted legs today, and I'm saving shoulders for Thursday.

that little rest wont hurt you. it may actually benefit you! good leg strength! you might work for gnc huh? SWEET! Sounds like your progress is coming along pretty nice. When do you think you will post some progress pics?

I could post 2 week progress pics. Originally I wasn't going to post pics until after my Mitotropin.

Little side note too, I forgot to take my second Mitotropin dose until 7. But, I am really tired anyways. Good night fellas!

I've got something that I need to get off of my chest.

This low carb diet combined with cardio has taken a toll on me. I don't feel good a lot of the time, I'm always hungry, I can't concentrate as well in my classes...etc. I think I made too many changes too quickly. Therefore, I am adding back carbs into my diet. I'm going to eat clean and sensibly, and exercise intensely. I don't think I'm ready for a full blown cut. I'm going to take it slower than I have so far. Still going to do some cardio though, because it makes me feel good.

I'm happy about my decision. This log is more about a journey than a full cut. I'm here to learn about lifting, nutrition, and myself in general.

i think your making a mistake. there are times when you can eat more carbs to help you feel better, take b vitamins to keep your mind focused, but do not just freely eat a lot of carbs like you were. the progress you have made is too good to just throw away!

I'm not freely eating a lot of carbs. What I did when I started my cut was go from eating almost anything I wanted to eating about 100g of carbs per day. This was way to dramatic, and to be honest with myself I didn't have my diet down. I shouldn't have dove into a supplemented cut right away. I should figure out what kind of macros it takes for me to cut without supplements.

Instead of "freely eating a lot of carbs" I am STRICTLY eating only 100% whole wheat, oats, etc. And I'm not eating any passed a certain time in the day. Believe me when I say that I know what I'm doing, and this is the best way for me to stay sane, and I will end up seeing results. I'll monitor my weight closely as well, and will not let myself get back to where I started.

Forgot to comment on my chest/tris workout yesterday, duh! Well, I tried out my sample pack of Gaspari PlasmaJet and my pumps were off the chain! Best pump I've ever had during my 5 years of lifting. I hit 205 X 14 on incline barbell, I hit 15 reps on flat bench with 80 dumbbells. Then, I just did some cables, incline flies, and tricep pressdowns. Great workout, got in and out in about 1 hour 15 minutes with my partner.

If you want to be smart with carbs...have complex carb meals only at breakfast, your pre-workout and post-workout meals. Your in between meals should be aimed towards healthy fats and protein.

What would you suggest my carb intake be on off days?

Why not fruit? Because it's more high glycemic due to the fructose? Therefore, having it for breakfast would be fine since the body is carb-depleted?

you are correct sir, especially stay away from bannanas. The fructose in fruit can only replenish the glycogen sores in your liver, not in your muscles. So if you eat to much fruit the glycogen stores in your liver fill rather quickly, and once full, the liver will send an enzyme out into the body falsely informing it that the bodys glycogen stores are full and to turn any carbs here after into fat. So limit your fruit. 2 servings a day MAXIMUM!

Thank you, sir.

As for today, I tried to do some shoulders and traps today, but this callis on my hand is very painful, so it's hard for me to grip weights. I'll see if I can get a picture of the cut...

Set a few records on back/bis day today. Really trying to concentrate on form and not weight. It's hard to do, but I know it will benefit me in the long run. Gearing up for some chest and tris today.

Weight is at 230.0 exactly, so I didn't gain as much weight back as I thought! I'm not starting to cut by monitoring my weight every week and taking small steps along the way if needed. This will be much easier to sustain.

What would you suggest my carb intake be on off days?

Me personally...I won't go lower than 150-200g a day (complex carbs mostly, simple carbs only post-workout).

You'll have to find your happy medium. While completely cutting carbs out of your diet helps you drop weight fast it also helps contribute to losing muscle just as fast as well.

Cheers!

concentrate on form the whole set, but the last rep or two dont worry about breaking form. NOT A BIG DEAL. Just take your body to failure but make sure you can get the weight up so you dont hurt yourself!

make sure you take your muscles to failure on every set, the body hates to fail and will repair the muscles bigger and stronger so it wont fail again. After all, we could die if we failed to push the boulder off our chest. Our body builds muscle to protect itself. At the same time it wants to keep the minimal amount of muscle possable and still get the job done. This is due to our ancestors going through periods of famine. More muscles = more calories burned all day long and our ancestors needed to maintain the minimal amount of muscle possable yet still get the job done. So every 2 weeks or so, when your body figures out how to complete your workout routine while sustaining a minimal amount of muscle, switch up your routine and shock that body into growth!!!!

I understand the principals of weightlifting quite well, thankyou:wave2:

you might have already said this but how many years have you been lifting? how many SOLID months in a row and why is this your first cut? finished bulking? was your bulking diet dirty or clean?

you might have already said this but how many years have you been lifting? how many SOLID months in a row and why is this your first cut? finished bulking? was your bulking diet dirty or clean?

I have been lifting since I was a freshman in high school, so 5 years now. I've been lifting solidly for 14 months (since last March). I haven't cut yet because I don't really know how. I am also confused as to whether it would be good or not to put on more mass. I feel like I'm heavy enough at 225 pounds, but not for my height, at 6' 2". So, I keep bouncing back and forth between cutting and bulking. My diet is way more clean than dirty, although I don't think it matters TOO much.

The problem is that I keep biting off more than I can chew. Cutting too many calories, exercising too much, and ultimately driving my spirits into a oblivion. That is why i am not eating normally, monitoring my weight every week, and making small changes on a week to week basis to achieve my goal of cutting.

You are not doing those things? WHY?

you do have some impressive strength, but for lifting for 14 months solid you are kind of flabby. Eating clean do matter!

can you give me a rundown of your daily intake of food/meals?

can you give me a rundown of your daily intake of food/meals?

Breakfast: 1 cup oats, 2 scoops myofusion, 2 tbsp PB

Lunch: 2 chicken breast sandwiches on whole wheat buns w/tomatoes, salad w/2 tbsp evoo

Next meal: same as lunch, maybe with fruit as well

PWO: 2 cups chocolate milk, 1 scoop XF Whey

PWO meal: same as lunch

Before bed: 2 tbsp PB, maybe a scoop of protein

No sodas or candy for a long time...

everything looks good, maybe throw in a tiny snack in between breakfast and lunch. even some mixed nuts or something. ever consider not consuming so much fat pre workout? maybe try an apple and some why/cassien. but i think 2 cups chocolate milk is over kill, thats gotta be around 400-500 calories no?

I forgot to mention, for my preworkout meal, it is the same as lunch except for the EVOO.

2 cups of chocolate milk has approximately, 52g sugar, 16g protein, and 320 calories. I figured that at my bodyweight I need a good amount of carbs PWO...

nutrisci I AM AN RD LISTEN TO ME! jk

Really? That's awesome man. That's what I want to do in a few years.

oh, i must be thinking of the nesquick or something. i bough chocolate milk from 7-11 and it had 400 calories in one bottle. but yeah you do need carbs pre workout. try to get a little more zinc in your diet. maybe suppliment with it. try to eat more veggies if you can, i know its anoying and lame, but broccoli is always fun for me to eat!

NOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, I'm glad someone is as excited as I am :D

I forgot to update for my workout today...legs and shoulders...

I hit some good squat numbers. 315 X 12 and 350 X 10. Felt great actually. Solid for, went below parallel.

Did some seated DB military press and I hit 80s X 11 on the first set, and then 70s X 12 on the next two sets. Felt strong, and I really felt like I didn't include much chest at all because I would feel that. My chest is sore as hell today! :)

Other than that, I am concentrating on every exercise to get perfect form. I go down as far as possible on leg presses, and contract all my muscles hard at the peek of each exercise.

I'm off to bed tho.

Peace.

have you given any thought to any fancy supps such as an AI or a cortisol blocker?

I have lean xtreme in a locked drawer waiting to be used. As for an AI, I have thought about tying Diesel Test Hardcore and T-Bol, but i haven't made any decisions. Waiting till money flows in the summer as well. What is your take?

I'll reply in the morning. I'm tired.

For an AI i would go for hyperdrol x2 (6 bromo) or maybe Inhibit E (ATD)

For a natty test booster I would def. suggest DTH. After I hit a plateau I tried DTH and BLAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!! I smashed through my plateau like it wasnt even there and put on 12 lbs in one month. I kept it all, no sides, no shutdown, nothing negative except phases of aggression or rage towards others. It gives me a very short fuse! But those bouts of anger were pretty rare. I'm a mellow guy!(DTH is the only natty test booster I've ever tried besides t-911 and i didnt like t-911 much)

With such good results from DTH, why are you not continuously cycling on and off of it?

I can stick to this diet no problem. It's when I go low carb that I go nuts. I would definitely be interested in products that would allow me to stay near these eating levels and recomp my body. I will put the lifting in and necessary cardio. What products would you suggest for a recomp?

Some suggestions bud. First, if your looking for a great 1-2 punch for natural test boosting...ActiVate Xtreme and IGF-2 is as good as it gets. If you want to use an AI...well it depends on how potent you want it. 6-bromo is good stuff, but going too high with your doses you run the risk of it kicking your ass and it becoming somewhat suppressive as it converts into 6-bromotestosterone. ATD is about as potent as you can get and also with that stuff...too high of a dose is not fun as your libido gets crushed and your joints start to get a little achy because your estrogen levels being too low. 6-trione (6-OXO) is good stuff and while very effective it doesn't hit you as hard as the others...you have more wiggle room to play around with doses on 6-trione. Lastly, a product that has been getting rave reviews is the new Formex from IBE. Check that out as well.

If you want to harden up your chest...topical formestane or topical Trans-Resveratrol is the way to go.

If you have any further questions...feel free to ask or pm me.

Cheers!

i would recomend DTH because that is the only fancy supplement I have taken so far. I have done a little 2 week glycobol run, loved it, but right now im bulking and that stuff made me cut up!!!!!!!!!!!!! check out my log in my signiture. only 2 weeks and i got so cut. i was eating like 300-400 grams of carbs a day too

Thanks for the help. My main problem is money right now. After protein powders and multivitamins I don't have a whole lot of money to throw around.

6 Bromo, 6 Oxo, and ATD look interesting, but the shutdown thing worries me a bit. Would these be good recomp supplements? I can stick with a clean diet, but going low carb is very hard for me.

I do feel like my chest is abnormally flabby compared to the rest of my body. Will these topical creams help a lot?
