Pin sizes

What's everyone use? Going to start my cycle injecting and am still building a feel for what to pick up.

Thanks

23-25ga, 1" minimum. 1 1/2" for glutes / quads if you are pushing more than 2cc. I've used 18ga before, and it wasn't too bad... just looked scary haha.

I use a 20g to draw and a 23g to inject. I've wanted to try a 25g, but I don't have problems with the 23g. Takes long enough pinning with a 23g lol.

Depending on your body fat...
23g x 1.5" for glutes and quads
23g x 1" for delts

When I 1st started pinning, I pinned HCG 1st on a Monday with a 28g x 1/2" needle and was "Wow, this ain't a big deal." Then Tuesday I ripped open the packages with the 1.5" needles and freaked out. I just knew I was going to stick bone lol. It was pretty intimidating, for me at least, but now it's no big deal. I'm still unable to pin myself, but my gf is now an expert at it lol. If you're going to pin yourself, especially in the glutes, I'd suggest to lay on your bed and do it if possible for the 1st time or 2. That way if you pass out, you won't fall on the floor with a needle in your butt.

Good luck!

Right now I am waiting for my bigger pins already ordered. All I got are slin pins. I get a painless knot in delts. Bad pain in quads. WTF

I think I have a handle for the appropriate sizes! Thank u all. Still a bit confused about how they are sold, u can buy needle only or the whole syringe. What method works best? Do u usually buy a lot of extra to avoid ordering them each cycle?

Let's say you're going to use 22/25. You can buy a needle/syringe combo with a 22g, and get extra 25g needles on the side. I'll PM you a solid site that has combos and is very cheap.

Depending on your location, you may be able to get them at a local pharmacy. There's only one local place I'm able to get mine and it's a compounding pharmacy. They'll sell the pin/syringe combo by the box. The other pharmacies around here only sell diabetic needles.

I would never personally buy at a local pharma! I wouldn't want to be seen by someone I know. I don't know how would I explain picking up 50 syringes and 100 needles?! lol I PM'd the OP with a really good site to buy 'em at.

Yeah man, I hear ya. I certainly can't argue your point because it makes me nervous every time I go in there to get syringes. I have 2 things going for me though; 1st, I buy in bulk so I rarely have to go. 2nd, they just put in a drive thru a couple months ago and there just so happens to be a lot of silver Toyota Tacomas arouns lol. It's still nerve racking. I use the "get in, get it on, get the hell out" technique. Works well at the bar and also at the pharmacy lol

I give you props for using an 18g. I use a 20g to draw and a 23g to inject. Well, ran out of 23g the other day and had no time to pick some up today for my injection. Used the 20g instead. Not even going to lie, I was acting like a little girl about it. 23gx1.5" is intimidating enough. My gf does all my pinning and even she was nervous to pin my glutes and she's never had a problem. Got it done and I have to say, it wasn't much worse than the 23g. Just a lot more anxiety involved lol.

Dang, 20 to pin is like a harpoon! At least you had someone else doing it for you because I don't think I'd be able to do that myself! lol

Shoot, there would've been no way I was going to do that myself! I can't even do the 23g myself. 1.5" is a long ol' needle, no matter how thin. And yes, it left a pretty good sized hole and I can def feel it a little more this morning, but no bruising around the area and no large welp, so I'm happy. I'm about to order some more now, thanks to you, kanakafarian.

What would you guys recommend for subq hcg injections? Insulin pins should work but most seem to have non-detachable needles. Do you pull the plunger out and put it in the back (that's what she said)? Drawing and pinning with the same tiny 29g needle sounds dumb...

That's what I've always done... But mine were 27g...

I should clarify... I always draw up with a 27g and just inject... Then simply dispose on it.

Yeah man, I use insulin needles that are .5" by either a 28G or 29G and they work just fine. And yes, I draw with the same needle I inject with as the needles are not detachable. I wipe the top of the vial with a sterile pad, draw, clean the needle and my stomach with different pads and then inject. Never had any problems!

Draw with 22 shoot with 27 1 1/4 long

Dang, I'll bet that takes awhile to inject! I used a 1.5" X 23G for a couple months until I ran out and tried 1.5" X 25G needles. Granted, my gf does my injections, but the 25G takes a lot longer and she'll have indentions on her fingers when she's done. When she injects, no matter what size the needle, she'll inject a little, count to 30, then inject a little more. It usually takes around 6-8 mins as my UGL deca and test are pretty thick. It injects a lot easier with the 23G for sure and I can't really feel much a difference between the 23G and 25G. I'll bet that 27G takes 30 mins to inject lol!

6-8 minutes?!! lol Dude, you need to switch to a harpoon! 1ml with 25g should usually take about 15-20 secs.

Thanks fellas.

I retract my previous statement. It doesn't sound dumb. After asking that question, i found out that lots of people on various internet boards just draw and pin with the same needle without any issue. So that is all figured out.

Lol, it only takes that long because my gf injects a little, then counts to 30, then injects more, and so on. I like to let it dissipate into the muscle a little at a time instead of just cramming it in. I found it's a lot less painful afterwards that way and I always seem to get several tear drops of solution come out of injection site after removing the pin when I shoot it all at once. When I take my time, I rarely get any solution coming out.

I guess I'm old, I still use the Z-method for injects, lol

Z-method? Enlighten me of this procedure, please sir!

I use Z-track too.

Z-track injection is a method of injecting medication into a large muscle using a needle and syringe. This method seals the medication deeply within the muscle and allows no exit path back into the subcutaneous tissue and skin. This is accomplished by displacing the skin and subcutaneous tissue 1–1.5 inches (2.5–3.75 cm), laterally, prior to injection and releasing the tissue immediately after the injection.

Just as kanakafarian mentioned. Think of it as when the needle goes in, you're making a hole in the skin through to the muscle... They line up. Moving the skin about 1" to 1.5" before you inject. Then, when you withdraw, the skin slides back and the holes no longer line up... Gear stays inside, continuing to elicit it's magical goodness... :wizard:
