That depends....After experiencing something like this it changes your life. I can tell you when I was sick, for several years after I didn't even go on any forums. Wanted absolutely nothing to to with it. The people that post on forums is a very small percentage of the world. Sure there might be a few people that do that, but not many...Mostly because a lot of them would get flamed, and just would rather not argue or deal with that.

I'm with ya! Either contamination or dare I say a "QC" issue. But it sucks for all parties involved

No, that's not the fact at all.


The fact is that these people are sick and SOME of them took OEP. Some didn't take it at all and still had the same thing happen.

The more I see USP makes posts like that , the less neutral I become. Its one thing to bring up the possibilities of counterfeit ing( which is a real possibility), but to question the integrity of the dr is another thing.

This doesn't change much of anything though.

not everyone gets something when taking drug X, but most do wouldn't mean it's safe. The likelihood if something is really wrong with the OEP has to be contamination/QA otherwise we would be seeing this all over the place. It's obviously a really popular product.

It's just way too early to say anything more than in Hawaii an apparent correlation between OEP and illness exists with multiple people. Nothing more, nothing less at this point.

I dont think you get what I'm saying.

I'm not saying OEP is or is not the cause definitively. All I'm saying is that not all of the cases in Hawaii are linked to OEP. Some of the people with the same disease did nor even use OEP, but they still got it anyway.

I'm not saying anything about people who did take it that didn't have any issues, I'm only talking about the people with the issues that never used it.
 
I did see a post on lean bulk forums about a guy in VA that had a liver transplant that took OEP. Also a woman in PA. Not all cases are going to be documented or reported. Some people may not even tell their doctors they are taking OEP because they don't see how it can cause this type of problem. So there may indeed be more cases...Just not all cases are going to be reported to the media or the FDA.

Makes this story even more confusing. He was using Oxyelite pro for 2 years.. meaning he has been using the OG formula. Geoforce pointed out that this had to do with the new formulas that are out on the market but they just came out recently. Not to mention this guy was fine using this product for 2 years and then all of the sudden went into liver failure. The cases of liver failure seem to be occurring very rapid. Im starting to believe more what mw1 is saying - Counterfeits in Hawaii? The only thing that makes sense.

I don't know if the media has its facts too straight. Specifics are sometimes twisted, left out or wrong. Maybe he was cycling the original for 2 years until the new stuff came out and he switched....Personally I would guess it's some type of contamination. If it is counterfeits I wonder what steps are being taken to prevent this, or protect the consumer. Maybe there is a higher concentration of people using supplements in Hawaii?. I'm interested in what the testing of the product(s) finds.

Looks like Versa-1 might be gone soon also. Too bad, because I actually like the stuff. Still have a few bottles and gonna start a new one in a few weeks.
 
I'm wondering if they are thinking that "Aegeline" is causing the problem. It is common in all three products. Seems like they are just grasping at straws at this point....Waiting to the tests to come back from samples taken from patients.

This is what most of this looks like to me at this point.


Except for the obvious things, like people actually having non viral hepatitis.


Most of the FDA action to this just seems like direct shots at USPlabs and nothing more. I doubt we'll ever know what caused this, but the FDA is sure to hit USP with everything they can.

Curious if it aegeline? I also saw that out of thirty two issues in Hawaii, the ones not attributable to OEP may have had something to do with another unnamed product. Not real clear way it was written, but they did go after Versa-1 in letter to USP from what I understand.

Are they also currently looking at liver cases in 4 other states at current time? Any idea what states?

Does OEP or Versa-1 have a much larger dose of aegeline than something like Enhanced?

I noticed really dark urine the last day I took Versa. I just chalked it up to dehydration.
 
That's some scary ****ing shyt. So the new formula is more dangerous than the old formula? Wth is that? We should have had some answers by now its not that hard to test the ingredients in a pill bottle

I am going to stop these products for now, until we have some more facts.

Now on the news last night, FDA pulled versa-1 off of shelves because it has the same ingredient as oep advanced. The the safety dosage of aegline is not supported by usp. So is it what is causing the problem? Or FDA is just finding things to get after usp labs?

The Versa-1 thing is a separate issue, that the FDA just happened to throw in with the OEP powder contamination issue. The are saying that the "Aegeline" is not natural and not in the food supply, therefore its not DSHEA compliant. It was the same issue with DMAA. So separate issue, just happening at the same time as the OEP Hepatitis issue.

Yeah, have put in an additional guffaw about the Dr. statement. Sorry but humans are humans regardless of how many p's, h's, and d's they have before their names and are therefore subject to all the usual flaws we mortals suffer.
 
I never ever said they were ethical. A lot of dr.'s are just flat out immoral. Like that lady dr telling people they had cancer and selling them this bs stuff to make millions. But what does this dude have to gain from liver failure patients from a product or lack there of? It doesn't make him famous or some great dr/scientist. He didn't have some amazing discovery to advance man kind and cure cancer. He found a common denominator in patients with acute liver problems.

So I guess I can't get my money back for versa-1?
 
And really? All you have to say about the entireeee situation is.. "You don't believe All Dr.'s are ethical?" I have never had a problem with usplabs. I was on micro when I had two months of insane liver values. I blamed bronkaid as I was only on micro, caffeine, tabs, and bronkaid. Maybe I missed something? I'm not even ruling out counterfeit... But responses like that make me quickly lose interest/faith in a company. Especially after DS! (So forgive my tone. I'm still a little resentful I unknowingly intoxicated eth for over a year)

I don't know what you mean. I don't believe in second chances if a company is flat out shady like DS. I don't think USPlabs is like that though. No shadyness but if I die from some fat burner due to QA issues I'm coming back with a vengeance!

Exhausting point is noone to go through for but should be sheer pleasure to interactions with any company in which you are monetarily interactions and firm confidence in reputability

Haha, lets just say I would put more faith in the word of a doctor than that of a supp company at the present. Pretty bad press lately with Craze on national news, you guys on national news and some report I saw in the last day or so saying 60 percent of herbal supplements contain substances not listed. Bad doctors, counterfeit product, FDA picking on companies for no reason . . . So did GNC sell the guy interviewed counterfeit OEP? People should be pissed for putting trash in their bodies that typically provides little or no benefit.

I think we should hold off on judgement until final conclusions are brought forward.

I would be SHOCKED if -
1) This was NOT a counterfeit of OEP
2) A quality control issue were the cause
3) USP knowingly put something in their products that would cause these cases

Unlike another company out there, who has a owner with a less then stellar past, USP would have absolutely no need to push the boundaries and line in that "grey area" of ingredients.

They were already the sacrificial lamb when it came to 1,3 (somewhat brought on by themself for defending their product as they should have) so any chance they would give the FDA or any other agency ammo to come at then again would be very hard to believe.

Also they make money on people using and loving their products.....not getting people sick.

I am holding onto my OEP powder and Versa-1 until they figure this out. I have no doubt that they will find a causation unrelated to USPLabs products.
USPLabs does not bottle stuff just for Hawaii. There is no separate lab that only ships to hawaii. Somebody had to have tainted the shipment.

Where are the toxicology reports?

Terrorist act, LMAO!. I'm sure that there are distributions just for certain areas. I still think its some kind of contamination. Versa-1 has nothing to do with the possible contamination of Oep though. That's a separate issue of "Aegeline" not being in the food supply, hence not meeting the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act. I can't believe how many people are not familiar with that law on this board.

Yeah, I think I have heard something about that, during the 1,3 stink.

Speaking of 1,3, the Army Medical Department found no significant connection between DMAA and those soldiers that died. The soldiers had underlying health issues.
BUT, the Department of the Army still refuses to allow the supplements containing DMAA to be sold on post. Due to the fact that they can't completely rule it out.

They found nothing and they are still scrambling for a reason to keep it away from post. Stupid.

Being that it is now banned would be a good reason lol.
 
Just about everyone is using or has used a USP product.

Of everyone, several also had liver issues.

Thus, USP must be contaminating all of their products.

Welcome to FDA's mindset...scary for all companies.
