so many violent songs after a breakup....what the hell. all my breakups have been amicable and although not best friends, i still maintain a civil relationship. i think of emotional songs...not rip her head off and **** down her neck songs. that's just psychotic.....probrably indicative of why they would have dumped/cheated on you in the first place.

Well, if I put myself in Cuffs situtation... for me the "rip her head off and **** down her neck" type of songs fit nicely.

:D

such a funny guy.

wasn't trying to be

i really wasn't trying to be. i honestly was a little shocked at some of the suggestions. like said, i think of the good times and sappy songs...i don't think of violence and hate for the girl.

to each his own i guess. also, as i said, i've been lucky...i've never been **** on in a breakup....or cheated on etc, so maybe i just don't have the right perspective.

Um.. I don't think anyone said that these were "their" break-up songs... In my case, I chose the Pantera song because it is so over-the-top. I don't think it is even about a break up.

How about Skid Row.. I Remember You.

That's not necessarily a break-up song either, but it fits the bill.

O.A.R - So Moved On One of the only breakup songs I know that is empowering, and not sad. The version from 34th and 8th is amazing, as well as the rest of the songs on that CD.

I woke today, felt another way,
everything was gonna be fine.
My head rose up then my legs came too,
quarter past nine was the time.
I used to lose floating memories, found myself
wishing I'd remember old times.
But I woke today,
felt another way,
felt free in the sky to fly.
I stepped out the door, didn't know what for,
I saw my lady walking along.
I could have cried out what I wanted to say,
but I am sick of all this terrible charm.
I used to be into apologies, a regular to shame I
was shy.
But I woke today,
felt another way,
felt free in the sky to fly.

Well I'm through the gate, got to my house about
a quarter to eight.
And I made a drink, got about an hour to relax and
just think.
I'm just bored, nothing's ever gonna be the same
anymore.
And with my drink in hand I got up to stand and I
was off to a regular day.

The morning dragged on, I was walking along,
missing pieces fell to the ground.
Apparently, I could not see,
but I saw everything going down.
So I packed my bags and I was on my way,
I feel a little different in a different way.
But like I said when I got out of bed, I was off to a
regular day.

I could not hide, I wore my pride,
it felt good to be on the run.
The air quality was something new to me and I got
along fine with the sun.
And when I rest my heard and I lay down to bed,
I put the pieces down with the blame.
And if all goes well, at the morning bell,
I'll wake feeling free just the same.

Well I'm through the gate, got to my house about
a quarter to eight.
And I made a drink, got about an hour to relax and
just think.
I'm just bored, nothing's ever gonna be the same
anymore.
And with my drink in hand I got up to stand and I
was off to a regular day

For a horrible/bad breakup GodSmack's "I f#$%ing hate you". For that I lost my love and I'll never be the same again breakup because she was just soooooo special I'd have to say Poision's "Every Rose has it's Thorn".... I've been at the end of both.

O.A.R - crazy game of poker

cause its an awesome drinkin song, and you gotta get drunk as ****
after a break up
Not a break-up song no matter how you look at it. :rasp: And OAR has a million better songs.

When I think of good breakup songs, I definately dont think of anything too sappy, why make yourself more depressed, ya know? Just because you are listening to some hardcore metal doesnt mean you are a psycho lol. Here are a couple that stick out in my head from about 5 yrs ago:

SR-71: Right Now (very good)
Papa Roach: She loves me not

Lyrics to SR-71- really need to check it out!

She clings to me like cellophane
Fake plastic submarine
Slowly driving me insane
But now thats over

So what if the sex was great
Just a temporary escape
Another thing I grew to hate
But now thats over

Why you always kick me when im high
Knock me down till we see eye to eye
Figured her out I now she
May not be Miss Right but she'll do right now

I used to hang on every word
Each lie was more absurd
Kept me so insecure
But now thats over

She taught me how to trust
And to believe in us
Then she taught me how to cuss...that bitch its over

I used to be such a nice boy

ummmm it is the way i look at things ... through a drunkin haze hahah. you can disagree if you like, doesnt
make a bit of difference to me.

My favorite, I liked the original, liked it more when it actually took on a whole new meaning.. Dru Hill's remake of..

The Love We Had (stays on my mind)

I just can’t believe it girl
I can’t believe that it’s over
But I’m your man
And I’ll be alright
But still
The love we had
Stays on my mind

Lately babe
I’ve been thinking
How good it was
When you were here
And it ain’t the wine
That I’ve been drinking
For once I feel my head
Is clear

But early this morning
When I opened up my eyes
That old lonesome feeling
Took me by surprise
I guess you ment more to me
Than I realized

The love we had stays on my mind
(stays on mind)
The love we had stays on my mind

And lately girl
I’ve been remembering
The good times
That we used to share
My thoughts of you
Don’t have an ending
And memories of you are
Everywhere

But what should I tell you
It’s not your concern
You win some
You lose some
And I’ve lost
And I’ve learned
Sisqo’s so lonely
With no place to turn
And here at the end
Yes I do

The love we had stays on my mind

Girl if you were nearer
If you had a mirror
Maybe you could count my tears
(you don’t know, don’t know how I cry baby)
And if you were nearer
It would all be clearer
(I want you right here, I want you right here next to me)
How I wish that you were hear
(oh baby)
How I wish, oh I wish
How I wish that you were here

And baby girl
I was tired
So I laid down
To dream for a little while
But lately I’ve been so
So uninspired
Without the comfort
Of your smile

But I’m not complaining
Cause that’s how it goes
Theres always some heartache
In this world I suppose
Huh, listen to me
But you can’t imagine
But nobody knows
Nobody know’s baby

The love we had stays on my mind...
